I just now purchased one of your deluxe fans on Amazon and I'm reading the pdf instructions downloaded from your site. Nowhere does it say a single thing about using any butyl tape. And nowhere does it say here in this video (created by the manufacturer) what size (width and thickness) of butyl tape customers are supposed to use. Although this video does say we should have 30 feet of butyl tape on hand?? 30 feet to do a single installation?? And do we really need to buy two tubes of lap seal for installing one fan? Maybe the manufacturer should have a professional write its instruction procedures and create its installation videos? Feeling a little nervous about my purchase already, especially considering some of the reviews about customer service.

Hey guys, thanks for the video. I just purchased the MaxxFan 7500K & I had never heard about the shade kit till now. I'm wondering if it is a blackout shade or if it let's light in and if so, how much. Thanks again
Thanks for the comment! It's not a blackout shade, so it lets a bit of light in. Shade material has a reflective backing to block light and reflect heat and it will definitely mute any outside light at night. Hope this helps!
Hello, how much time is needed for mounting the MAXXFAN, if no opening available on the roof. which type of electricity id needed 12v or 220V, thank you
Hello and thank you for your comment! The MAXXFAN can easily be mounted in a couple of hours, this time frame include cutting the hole in your roof and you will need 12V.

Hi. We are french and trying to install the Maxxfan on our van. But it seems to have a problem. When you put the up on part inside the one who's screwed ont Roof. We can't put the 4 screws, like if the black joint was too thick... Sorry for my English. Can you help us ?

The Maxfan Deluxe is designed to fit 14-inch x 14-inch rooftop openings.
