The CRV with the 1.5 turbo earth dreams motor have an issue with excessive fuel in the oil, excessive even for the Direct injection type fuel delivery. Check it out before you buy, and by checking it out I don't mean ask the dealer, they might not give you the straight skinny. I've had 5 new hondas since 2008 and loved them all, even love this 2018 with the fuel dilution issue, but it is severe and I just can't see the engine lasting too long. Sad, sad situation. Honda needs to help out the effected customers. Do yourself a favor, educate yourself. 2016, 17, 18, 19 and I bet the 2020's are too.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your 2018 CR-V.
Honda Canada has taken measures to ensure that customers who are effected by excessive fuel dilution are covered; extending the warranty of certain engine components by 6 years and offering an N60 service campaign on 2017 and 2018 model year CR-Vs. The N60 service campaign started in November of 2018 and sees software updates to the transmission control module and electronic fuel injection system. CR-Vs built in 2019 and 2020 came equipped with this new software so excessive fuel dilution is very unlikely.
It is believed that customers who drive short distances in extreme cold weather are the most susceptible to excessive fuel dilution because the engine is not heating up enough to vaporize any excess fuel that makes its way through the crankcase to the oil pan during the Direct Injection process.
If you are experiencing any issues, please take your CR-V to your nearest Honda Dealership where they will do their best to assist you!
      Thank you for your comment!

@@SisleyVehicles thank you for your response, I have taken our vehicle back in several times, the answer from Honda Tech Line is "we are still working on a fix" we have expire cedar this problem with oil dilution all spring, summer and fall. We live in rural montana and we don't do many short trips. I am educating myself on this issue and still conversing with owners of 2019 Earth Dreams 1.5 turbos purchased recently who have the issue also. I've strictly been a Honda man since 2008 with 5 brand new vehicles purchased. What a shame that Honda keeps pushing this engine.

@@xxlxpman Again, I am sorry you are experiencing this.
Honda Canada and Honda in America decided on different solutions to the fuel dilution issue. I can only speak to the solution that Honda Canada came to and how Canadian built and serviced CR-Vs have been since the software push, since we are a Canadian Honda Dealership. Our CR-Vs are built in Alliston, Ontario for Canadian customers and feature different trims and options than those you are able to purchase in the United States of America, like the Canadian Exclusive CR-V Black Edition!
Have you contacted Honda in America directly in regards to your issue? As far as engineering of the vehicle goes, Dealerships do not have any say.
Sadly, I am unable to assist you from Canada! I do hope that your local dealership and Honda in America find a solution so you can continue to enjoy our Honda products! Thank you for being a loyal Honda customer!!
