    Good to see and hear from you again Mark. Looking forward to your installments for 2023. Here's one topic for you, wide angle photography. I just acquired a Nikon 14-24 mm lens and I'm having a blast with it so far. Always open to some more tips and tricks if you can offer any on this subject. Take care!

    I watched your video about long exposure photos with entry level dslr back in 2018, i had Nikon D5100 back then, i went out shot with same settings and i was blown away, i never thought that this was possible with my dslr, i knew nothing about dslr camera much, since then photography and videography became my passion, and i came long way by watching so many of your videos and other tips & tutorial videos, now im a sony user shooting with A7IV & FX3, few months back i checked ur channel thinking that because of your videos i came long way, and i was very sad to see that such a great channel with lots of knowledge isn't uploading anymore, good to see you are doing great and planning to upload again. you always made a very good tutorials, huge fan from Pakistan 👍

    I just discovered your channel when I was looking for the discreet topic of back-button focusing. I’ve been going through several of your vids, and given that we just moved to Indiana, I was happy to realize “hey, this guy is right here somewhere”. I really like your photography content, and as an IT guy as well your other subjects are also up my alley. Thanks for doing all of these, hope to cross paths with you some time.

    Hey Mark, glad you are back and well!!!! I think the direction you want to take the channel is perfect!!! Everyone has questions about everything in tech. I will give you an example, I bought my wife a smart watch for Christmas (Not at all interested in the subject going into it) boy am I amazed at what it can do!!! The one that sells it for me is the ability to be a device that can run an EKG on your heart! I have a family history of heart disease and last week my doctor told me that they can not recheck me (I do have some heart defib but within the acceptable range) unless I am currently simptomatic. This tool will give me a change to monitor my condition and I will be able to see in advance if I have any worsening conditions perhaps. It also does many more things. Another item new to me in tech are the smart tags!!! I did not know these were out there, a simple way to track two of the three things I always have with me, that is my keys and my phone! I saw a report yesterday about the airlines having an issue with lost luggage again, would it not be so cool to check your app and see where you luggage is!!??? So there are a couple of small potatoes that are real game changers out there in the Real World!!
    Appreciate all you do!
    Rich aka Moonpie

    • @RealWorld
      @RealWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the post Rich!:) Ahhhh yes, I can appreciate your perspective on smart watches and various other devices. I feel the same about the EKG features along with accelerator indicators (fast drops, etc.), blood oxygen, pulse, sleep, etc. Air tags are another benefit to lost luggage and many other potentially lost items:). Stay tuned as we will navigate the waters together:).

    Good to see you are back at it, and yes it was a bummer about the camera shop there in Carmel closing, I went there often myself. And thank you gain for your great videos, they taught me so much! And cause of that my pictures from my month long trip with my son out west were amazing, hope to have a few in the upcoming 2023 State Fair Deal. Thank you, cant wait to see the new content

    • @RealWorld
      @RealWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome to hear from you Bryant!:) The shop is Carmel was great - always clean and run by a solid group of professionals. Unfortunately, I sense the landscape is changing and the broad demand for DSLRs is falling as computation photography in cell phones is gaining massive ground. DSLRs will return is a relative small niche of professional photographers and strong enthusiasts who seek more from their images. I will always appreciate large sensors and the ability to post process - flexing full creativity to make an image pop!:) Nonetheless, great to hear you had an awesome/safe trip!:)

    Your videos are what helped me learn how to use my Nikon D3400 five or six years ago. I have been eyeing mirrorless cameras more often these days and would love to hear your take on the pros and cons. Thanks!

    • @RealWorld
      @RealWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to believe it has been that long!:) The D3400 is still a solid crop sensor camera, however technology has advanced. All manufacturers are trying to stay relevant which is challenging given the advancements in cell phone technology and computation photography. Mirrorless cameras are the next evolution. I plan to migrate down a similar path as I explore various options. Nonetheless, I feel a great photo is not as much about the gear as it is about the photographer's ability to use the gear - any gear (old, new, or in the middle):). Composition and post process play a big part in the overall creative effort to capture truly amazing results in my opinion:).

    Glad to see you back Mark. I've used a NIKON D70 for quite a few years and about a year I ungraded to a NIKON D7500 hoping to improve my photographic capabilities. For the past 4+ years we have been doing a LOT of traveling in our motorhome all over the USA and I've been trying to document our travels. Between my Galaxy S8, and now S10, I have unfortunately almost exclusively been using my cell phone to take all of my photos. As much as I have tried I just cannot duplicate the quality of my photos from my S10 with my D7500. I've set them side by side taking the same photo and I can't get the color or exposure the same and my S10 always comes out on top. I know the D7500 should do much better. I use Photoshop Elements 14 to process my photos and Vegas Pro 19 to compile my video. I know you promote shooting photos in RAW but when I can easily capture well over 2,000 photos on a 2 month trip that's an overwhelming amount of photos to be having to process. Could you do a video on how to get a DSLR to match the S10 photos?

    • @RealWorld
      @RealWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the post and suggestion!:) Wow - I can really appreciate your perspective and will attempt to work through it in an upcoming video. I have been using my cell more and more as well, however I just encountered various benefits to shooting in raw with a much larger sensor - I pulled images from a recent photo adventure into Lightroom and started post processing. The larger sensor allowed me to pull more detail from the image and really leverage more creativity in post to make images pop. Nonetheless, I love the convenience of using a cell phone!:) I will soon post a video on a trip to Red River Gorge in which I used my old iphone 6s to exclusive shoot and edit all shots in the video - the results were much better than I expected. Stay tuned as this video will launch very soon:).
