  • Been a relatively long time since my last video, so I decided to grab my Nikon D3400 along with the standard 18-55 kit lens and head to the back country! Regardless of your equipment (Canon, Sony, Panasonic), I hope this video inspires you to do the same ... head outdoors, explore, have fun, and relax!

    Hi Mark, great to see you again … and nice to see the faithful d3400 is still making great images, though it sure helps a lot if its you at the viewfinder. If my d3500 could talk it’d sound like homer simpson most days. But watching you I’m sure I’m improving. Great scenery and sound advice in your message, particularly on personal safety. .. and so refreshing that you don’t obsess about the gear, its all about the image

    Great video and glad to see you back! You've helped so many of us who only want to learn how to use a camera as an amateur, not a professional. Glad you emphasized the safety factor. Even if it's a day hike, a cell phone won't help you if there's no tower for service. Hope you enjoyed getting away for a bit.

    Another great video. I really like the safety tips. My step son fell and never came home here in Southern Illinois. Thanks for mentioning them.

    • @RealWorld
      @RealWorld  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the post/feedback and so sorry to hear about your step son - WOW. By southern Illinois are you referring to the northern part of the Shawnee National Forest? I have been there and plan to go back at some point. Appreciate your observation related to the stump ... it's a unique shot:).

    • @DjPorkchop73
      @DjPorkchop73 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RealWorld The Northern part of the forest yes. We do have some beautiful land down state here. Dangerous places that one needs to be well aware of but very worth while to go and visit and photograph as a video or 2 back of yours demonstrated. Garden of The Gods is maybe 20 minutes from me. Due to mobility issues some places I can not get to but others, I simply love it!
      Safe travels for sure! And if you do come back down here I hope you have time for some pictures and maybe a clip or two to share online.
      On a side note, I showed my wife the stump picture as well and she loved it.

      @RealWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the post/question and welcome to the channel!:) Yes, you can take great shots with the D3200 (older but still capable:)). The two major differences between the D3200 and D3400 - 1) battery life 2) max ISO (helpful to have a higher ISO is lower light, however 6400 is fine in most low light situations).
