I have a dumb idea: When you review the RG Akatsuki, add in the open hands of the Mighty Strike Freedom as you give the katana to the Akatsuki. That thing is originally meant for the gold Gundam.
This design grows more on me after every review I see. I’m a huge SF fan, but even I admit that this is what it was always meant to be, and now that it’s here I absolutely love it! And that’s not even considering the surprise of it having an insane space katana on it.
To transform this to the Strike Freedom Spec 2 will require the backpack from the original Strike Freedom and the Type 35 railguns from the Gelgoog Menace.
Can confirm that it does as someone with the kit, you can even see it at 4:45 when he shows the shiny gold runner what's nice is that you also get backs of the hand (even if they're the same as the holding hand backs), so that's nice not having tto share parts like with 30 minute missions and some other kits
Hi, just wondering, is the head part supposed to be loose while posing this kit? I've heard complaints about how the head has issues looking upwards and when shaking the head just goes all over the place
Thank you for the review sir! I love the MS look of this new SF, from the head sculpt, black and white contrast to those shoulders and armguards giving it a bulkier silhouette. The backpack does look good too, but I might swap mines with Rising's, sort of forming a spiritual successor to the OG Freedom.
Doubt it. They updated the base body to have different shoulders, arm gauntlets, skirt armors, rail guns and calf thrusters so if there’s gonna be an rg. It’ll be a brand new kit. Likely using a whole new mg style inner frame like the impulse and other contemporary RGs which I personally prefer anyway.
I've tried my hardest, but I just can't bring myself to like the white wings. Something about the color scheme just doesn't work for me. If they had kept the wings blue instead, this design would have been peak Freedom.
to me the white wings are ok, but the gold smaller wings inside just look bad. it tried so hard to be Destiny but using the wing mechanism of the OG freedom for the winglets just dont work
Probably takes another 2 years. Personally hoping they'll make RG Destiny SPEC II with completely new engineering, to replace the original RG Destiny, a good looking but barely posable hand grenade. Seriously, early RGs sucks ass. The HGCE was miles better than that thing.
My place got stock late arrival issues but had enough that scalpers got fucked over, LMAO. GOOD. Seriously, this ain't P Bandai. Don't pay more than 30-35 USD for this kit.
the seed designs from the new seed movie all seem kinda wierd to me, they all seem like something from build fighters, especialy that one suit that looks based of the gyan. also this one isnt really doing it for me, looks to similar to the original strike freedom just with recolored backpack
I call this line Stickers Freedom cause all have too many stickers. Bandai focused mainly on articulations so the kits are stickers heavy. Also It seems to me that they wanted to exploit the movie so kits were meant cheap to make to have the biggest and fastest income. Pity cause the mecha design in this movie is so Cool.
@@riblo72you say that, but most stickers always either go on weapons or are pinstripe detail (gelgoog, rising freedom, etc) which usually isnt done in parts on hgs cause itd massively increase parts count. the stickers are barely relevant to articulation, and more a case of not wanting even more plastic in the boxes (the msf is actually really big, and im sure they didnt want to break the 3k yen mark by adding another runner to add the small colour apps for the rifles) the only real offender is the shive-a cause of the colour correcting grey all over it.
since im commenting, ill also ask why people dislike the 3d stickers. i personally like them cause they dont look like stickers cause of the layer of plastic ocer the print, while also allowing for very thin detail that just couldnt be achieved with clear plastic without it being extremely brittle. its better than an acrylic sheet at the very least, esp since it has something to stay in place.
Bandai really could have just made small adjustments to the existing HGCE Strike Freedom, and added the Proud Defender. Instead, they made a new mold. It makes me wonder why they didn't do the same with kits for updated MS's like the Jegans from _Unicorn_ , as well as the _Build_ series kits based on more mass produced units. That they can do so much makes me somewhat disappointed that they don't whenever the opportunity presents itself. I would really like a modern Jegan kit, like what they did with the GM/GM.
Good review, Zaku. Other than the fact that you missed out that it does include open expressive hands. Source: me because I built one already LMAO. Personally, a great kit of a MUCH better design than the original Strike Freedom & also representing the redemption of SEED as a franchise & Kira Yamato as a character.
EDIT: This kit DOES come with open hands! I somehow misplaced mine before the review and forgot they were included! Sorry!
Is that means a re-review?
Re-review time 😃
Fun fact all the c runner parts glow yellow under a blacklight

also before it became the Mighty Strike Freedom it was called the Strike Freedom Spec-II with the traditional DRAGOON system wings.

The proud defender which emits ploticles with nano-Deus Machima fits nice.
Hope a HG particle effert parts
I believe this kit does include a set of open hands :o
Great review, love this kit so much ❤
Great unboxing, the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam looks amazing! 👏🤖
I'm just happy that the rifle sticker application is S-Tier i thought it was painted. Great video and review :D Finally convinced to get this kit
I'm almost sure there are open hands on the gold runner
Yeah I’ve seen it on other reviews, and on the runner right on this episode. No idea what’s up with that.
Can confirm that it does as someone with the kit, you can even see it at 4:45 when he shows the shiny gold runner

remember, you can always glue metallic Ball bearings in the legs during the build to make it stand better with the backpack.
Hi, just wondering, is the head part supposed to be loose while posing this kit? I've heard complaints about how the head has issues looking upwards and when shaking the head just goes all over the place
Guess you missed the pair of open hand palms on the C runner when building the kit.
Definitely must have misplaced them! WTF! Sorry about that!
Thank you for the review sir!

Panel line should I go with grey or dark grey ? Need help here guys. There light grey too I’m confuse 😅
there are open expressive hands, at 4:54 you can clearly see them on the runner.
Edit: nevermind, I just saw the note ZakuAurelius put up so my bad :D
wasnt a fan of the seed kits at first maybe it was the backpacks but this one is very cool i love its wings and weapons
I'm near positive this kit does indeed come with a widespread hand for both the left and right.
Is it safe to panel line the gold wings? Or will it ruin the metallic gloss injection?
Just a suggestion for a quick tutorial video, painting the headcrest of the mighty SF
I never realized that the names was a mouthful until you said it.
Cool kit. Would make a cool MG.
Can only dream about an RG attachment one day as a separate kit. Same was we got the skygrasper years ago.
Doubt it. They updated the base body to have different shoulders, arm gauntlets, skirt armors, rail guns and calf thrusters so if there’s gonna be an rg. It’ll be a brand new kit. Im going to holdout on getting the hg of this hoping a rg comes out sometime next year.
Does the gold parts look good or should be painted?
I've tried my hardest, but I just can't bring myself to like the white wings. Something about the color scheme just doesn't work for me. If they had kept the wings blue instead, this design would have been peak Freedom.
the gold doesnt look good imo
to me the white wings are ok, but the gold smaller wings inside just look bad. it tried so hard to be Destiny but using the wing mechanism of the OG freedom for the winglets just dont work
Got this kit on my japantrip.... Really nice kit... 😄
Seed freedom not on netflix us yet...
Wish Bandai would make a RG version of this kit.
i’d say we should be expecting a rg 2.0 sf soon, and mighty strike freedom with that too
RG Mighty Strike Freedom with 2 option wings would nice

The HGCE was miles better than that thing.
@@justinl8791 RG RX-178 Mk II hold up pretty good.
Do you when it will arrive at usa Gundam store
Does this build up the exact same way as the Revive version?
Not really. It’s similarly excellent! But the construction is a little different
@@ZakuAurelius That's a relief. The polycaps on the Revive don't hold up very well.
Is this a newer gundam kit from this year
No usually a hg guy my self but this looks good
MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom next?
This kit scalped as hell in my place. There is no way getting it without twice of price.
My place got stock late arrival issues but had enough that scalpers got fucked over, LMAO. GOOD.
Seriously, this ain't P Bandai. Don't pay more than 30-35 USD for this kit.
Freedom design is too iconic that the Director decided to back to square one with the new Freedom
As much as I love the SF, this is that it should’ve been since the start.
Design wise, Freedom peaked at the original Freedom. Tech wise, the line is exceptional so far
"peaked at the original freedom" no
Yes og freedom design is better than sf
While I like the OG freedom and the revive is OK.
The rising reedom is so much cooler- does more with the shield AND gives you a beam shield

Bandai continuing to drop the ball on color separation. Its especially egregious for NEW kits.
Eh, this kit is quite color separated enough.
At least the backpack stickers are PET stickers making it easier to apply.
I am waiting for mine to come lol
lost one of my parts for it as i was watching this video 😭
Nicely engineered kit but stickers and red, white, blue, yellow color scheme kind of puts me off.
tbh i think the hand looking gold thing inside the wings ruins the look
Still prefer Amazing Strike Freedoms design as a progression from the original Strike Freedom
"That's going to reveal stickers," oh boy, how far we've come in the year of our lord 2024

now i just want it in MG, yes i only build MG cause i like the size and detail, also helps me keeps gunpla purchase in check.
The first thing I see pink inside the wing hatches it almost like a Psychoframe parts reference just like Unicorn does.

the current jegan is good enough
updated jegan would be nice but based on the ecoas jegan i just built last year its still holding up really well to modern standards
