Rotary setup and this are two different things. For a roller, object diameter does nothing and means nothing. Object diameter only works with Chuck. For a roller only Steps and rotary diameter matter, rotary diameter never changes, steps may change based on cup size or shape.
My question is, what if you're engraving a Stanley 40oz Mug where it tapers in the center on the approx 1" area? Will this distortion work for that? Also how does taper warp work when you're doing an all over seamless pattern image?
@hunterrose5150 it tapes as a whole or in part based on your inputs , it didn't see or know what it is going on so it won't treat that area any different.
it will work on all tappered cups with or without a step down. It will not however correct for the distance and focal settings that will have to be done as it normally done.
Useless video. Anyone can play around with taper warp and guess at parameters. What would've been useful is info on how to set the diameters based on center of pattern or top and bottom of boundaries.
Saving me a lot of headaches. Thank you sir!
When you put the measurement in the warp tool, do you put the measurements of the actual tumbler for the top and bottom or the logo?
you use the very end of both ends of the cup and the length of the cup and it scales it based on that
@@rotobossrotaryattachments thank you very much!
Should the rotary setup parameters, object diameter, be adjusted to the measurement of where the object will be engraving?

Do you know whether this feature works for engraving a full wrap on wine bottles from top to bottom without distortion or overlapping? TIA!
@tracygrott579 i dont know for sure, but I would suspect it would.
@@rotobossrotaryattachments Thanks!
howdoes this hold up with say a 40oz cup that has a larger taper mid section compared to a 20oz cup?
How would a set up for a wine tumbler that tapers on both top and bottom? Almost looking like and egg but flat on both top and bottom.
That I don't not know. I dont think that can be accounted for. I would just focus on the Main area you are engraving and limit it that way.
if I'm just doing text, do I need to do taper warp? The tumbler I'm using has a pretty steep taper. Thank you!
also, I'm assuming I level the tumbler...
@amyschaeb6923 it would not hurt to do it because it will effect text if it is an amount that will extend down the cup
What if the tumbler es not tapered
@@Texochmex then you should not need this.
Do you know if this works on a tumbler with a step down or is it just for a smooth tapered cup like the icon shown in lightburn?

@@rotobossrotaryattachments thank you for the response!
Could you use this feature for a full wrap, or just for logos?
I do not know, but logic would tell me it should work just the same. I don't do wraps, so I'm not sure.
For beginners like me you don't show actually how your chuck or rotary is positioned on the laser

@cbpuzzle thank you for your kind and inspirational words. I look forward to seeing your videos.
