    I'm more inclined to start using melonapp (much better price for paid version than StreamYard).. slides, remote, stream.. Good and happy 2023 to you, @Cat Mulvihill , and all subscribers!

    Thank you so much, Cat. This video has come in the nick of time for me. I was struggling how to make a presentation about a convention I will be attending. This software is just great! Cheers!

    Great presentation of the presentation of the presentation windows(s) Cat! This gives me an idea of combining the new option in Canva where we can record video and connecting that to a presentation, then adding text or images, and finally sharing with a link. A prefect solution for giving a lesson of some kind, maybe it's for one person only, and they get to keep that link for future reference. Our presentations could be saved in Canva folders for that customer and voilá, update this when needed, add a new presentation/lesson... Canva is on top of it, I like where they're going to.
    Thanks for the video Cat!

    Wow! So, to confirm: I can use this instead of PowerPoint for my Zoom presentation??? 😮
    Love the student participation part!! It’s exactly what I’ve been wanting. Also to be able to instantly share the slides with my zoom meeting students is awesome.
    Thank you for this video Cat. 😊
    I have paid plan on Canva so I’ll be checking this out!
    I think it’s just a matter of time when Canva will have features to allow more functionality for the live window showing presenter in the box.

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! You can present your slides just like you would with PowerPoint, except you run it from Canva in your browser.
      I really would love Canva to add the live video option 🤞🏻

    Thanks much Cat! So good to see you back! Canva info is great. But in my “what if world”…
    Canva + Stream Deck = Mind Blown? With a little practice & organization (Stream Deck profiles vs. folders?) a person could make Canva even BETTER?!? Gotta admit, I was skeptical of Canva - before I knew more; now I’m excited to learn more about what can be done!

    In Zoom, you can also have someone else advance the slides. It's a setting in your Zoom account.

    This was very helpful- one question I still have. I'm presenting my first Canva slide show to a small group and need to operate it from my iPad but have it showing, to the group, on a television screen- how would one make that happen? Thanks again for the great video.

    Hi Cat. Thanks for your video. Is Canva Live still available? I don't see a "go live" icon anywhere. TIA 😊

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still see it! When you present in presenter view, you should see it on the right-hand column along with Notes. Notes show up, but you can switch to Canva Live and hit Start new session.

    I absolutely love your content.
    Quick question. I have been working with canva for a while now.
    I’d like to use an overlay from OBS to zoom in order to have recordings where the slides do not take over all the screen.
    If I start my canva presentation on my iPad, would that help if I connect it to OBS through NDI?

  • @ImaginewithGretchen
    @ImaginewithGretchen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cat. Someone may have told u but I just found out how to remover the round pic of yourself in the present/record mode. When you choose that it will give you the option of turning off your camera so you can record like a true voiceover !!! Yea

  • @DavidLukas
    @DavidLukas ปีที่แล้ว

    So would you switch from OBS? What might be advantages of each one?

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, it depends on what I'm trying to achieve. For example, I have workshops that I strictly use scenes, but I'm preparing a new workshop that would work really well with the Canva Live comments and questions feature. In that case, I'll use a combination.
      There are many people who haven't tried OBS or Ecamm but do present slides, so in that case, I think Canva is a great option.

    • @DavidLukas
      @DavidLukas ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CatMulvihill I have watched many of your videos so I could learn how to use OBS for my Zoom presentations. The problem I've run into, and the reason I haven't been able to use OBS, is that when I create an OBS slide show and present it on Zoom there is no visible cursor to highlight what I'm talking about. I followed your directions to use my iPad as a whiteboard so that's one option, but then I discovered that OBS doesn't recognize the software that lets me use my Sony camera as a webcam which means that I couldn't use my teleprompter. At that point, I just went back to giving a Powerpoint presentation in Zoom, which was my least favorite choice.

    Thanks Cat. I looked at Canva in the past & there was something it the Terms & Conditions about the copyright of the graphics that put me off using it.
    I think it was one can't use Canva to make graphics for someone else? Say you have a personal account & make something for you business/non profit or friend then it's not in line with their T&Cs. Have you had any problem with this? Thanks.

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For presenting slides, or making your own business graphics, it's great. If you are designing on someone else's behalf, it might be better to stick to another program, like Figma or Adobe.

    • @happysnappess
      @happysnappess 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CatMulvihill Thanks, I'll check out Figma.

    I wish the presenter view worked differently. I've never been able to use it when I'm presenting in a client's office - you need two monitors for it to work. I've been caught out a couple of times now when I arrive and realise all I can do is cast one screen up on their wall. I still print the notes and take them with me.

    • @CatMulvihill

      Definitely smart to have a backup! I also like having a backup in case the internet connection isn't good enough.
      When I did a recent in-person session, I had the original Canva presentation and I exported it into a PDF that I dragged into Keynote, which automatically created slides for each page. That way I know I can run the slideshow even if I don't have internet.

    when you are in present and record mode, IF you make a mistake, can you edit the video. For example you say a lot of UM UM UM...or maybe you sneeze or dog is barking and you want to edit those out. Can you do that?

    Never used Canva. Do you buy Canva and get all the feature like presentations, or are they separate products? Their Website doesn't make it clear

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do a LOT with the free account. Sign up and start accessing the presentation templates (you can filter to only see the free ones), and you can still use presenter view with the free account!

    • @Smaffs59
      @Smaffs59 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CatMulvihill Getting the paid account would not put me off, my point was is Canva one huge product that does , Graphics, Presentations, website builder or are they separate purchases.
