We spent three days in Hamburg. Our hotel was in the center of all the main attractions in Hamburg, and first, we visit the harbor with a full boat tour we went to the Elbe philharmonic hall visited the miniature wonderland for about four hours ate in some nice restaurants visit st Michael’s church Fischmarkt and the Hard Rock Cafe and many more things even though the weather was cold we had a good time

We enjoyed our trip to Hamburg. We went to St Michaels. Miniature wonderland and the boat tour too :). I loved the miniature place but it was very crowded. My son loved ordering a hamburger in Hamburg from a hamburger

Amazing Hamburg has the most bridges in Europe! I spent a long weekend in Hamburg, but did not pick that up! We stayed at the Atlantic Kempinski Hotel. It was lovely! Great trip. We spend as much time on boats as possible!
This is not really true if you look into it deeply, Amsterdam has some 5,172 bridges, consisting of 1,891 to which the authorities have allocated numbers, 95 in private ownership, 42 locks, 1,471 bridges or overpasses which are unnumbered and 1,673 duikers which, loosely translated, are akin to a culvert. This may well knock the German claim into a cocked hat, although I can’t help thinking we are not comparing like with like.
But the Dutch are not finished yet. They point out that the land area within Amsterdam’s city limits is less a third of that of Hamburg and so on a density basis, their city comes out on top.

I visited Hamburg many years ago. I'd like to go back check it out again. I did go to the Fischmarkt after a night of barhopping. Took a train out to Blankenese. Thanks Mike - it was a nice nostalgia trip for me.

The containers were interesting. My brother and I spent a day in Long Beach last time I was there. Did you know that no one runs the cranes. Its all automated. Loading and unloading the ships and even loading a container onto a truck. No personal. We took a picnic lunch and spend a afternoon on a hill overlooking everything. Most everything is made in China, they have a route they travel so next step they want to make the ships automated too. No crew. Thanks for the tour. 👍 🙂

I found German highways cleaner than anywhere else. When we entered Switzerland, I was surprised at how dirty it was in comparison.

I love hamburg ! Beeing a retired seaman ! I have been so many times I lost counting ! My god Mike , the biggest containerships are loading more than 20000 boxes ! Summer -83 I stayed a month on Blom&Voss repairing a ship engine . There is no place in the world like hamburg . I could write a whole book about my memories in hamburg ! My wife actually work in a shipping company called hamburg sud , now a division of maersk ! Cool video , Mike ! When are you coming to gothenburg ,Mike ?
Blohm & Voss built the Bismarck, one of the largest battle ships ever built. I live in Rotterdam, we have harbours with those big ships here too, though most of them are way outside the city center, there isn’t as much happening near it like in Hamburg.

I have been alot in rotterdam many times aswell ! Signed on and of many , many times . Its a very nice town and I rather go there instead of amsterdan . I stayed at inntel hotel near Erasmus bridge some years ago in the summer and had a great time ! So , Rotterdam , yes ! Definitely great town !

It’s nice seeing you out with your Mum Mike, visiting places in Germany. Hamburg is an amazing city! I like the contrasts in Hamburg. On one side you have residential, offices, cafes, concert halls, shops and open spaces, while on the other is germanys industrial machine, ploughing away, to keep Germany ticking over. I have a great admiration for Germany, how it maintains its manufacturing, and refuses to outsource everything to China, like most countries do in the western world. Hoping Germany can be the inspiration to inspire a renaissance in manufacturing again, creating new jobs, and breathing new life into communities, from America to England and Australia and beyond. :)

great tour of the harbor area and the hotel was nice, the village and city would be a big video to do and where the beatles hung out and the clubs and so many old buildings and history , cool light bulbs also in the restaurant , i think they have red light bulbs in hamburg !

What a Freitag Abend! Another super video! I have 4 Dolmar chainsaws. All made in Hamburg. Sadly they have stopped production in März of last year. Better than Stihl in my opinion. Good to see Mutti and GIV in good health!
