My parents are buried in Krefeld. It is a long way from the US to Germany, and this makes me so sad. Hang on to your Mom as long as you can, GiV. All this can change by a blink of an eye 👁.
@Charles White I’ve not known about too many bad moms but I’ve sure heard of a lot of bad dads. If luck has anything to do with it, man did I get lucky. Both my mom and dad were fabulous.
I'm from America but in high school I lived in Krefeld for a summer in 2008 for the IU Honors Program. It was a German language immersion program that they used to do every year. I don't think they do it in Krefeld anymore, but rather Linz and Graz in Austria. It's such a coincidence to see your videos and see how the city has changed since I was there as just a lost teenager. Most days after class my friends and I would hang out at the Schwanenmarkt or get a Bratwurst from Bratwurst Paule. Thank for sharing your time and bringing back memories!
I love seeing a real man spend time with his beloved mother, sorry for your uncle's passing ,very touching memories going through his shop🙏 hello to you and your family from Melbourne Florida 🇺🇸

I would love to have you for dinner at my house. My name is Pamela! Contact me . Please! I’m blonde blue eye ! Yes , I think your adorable and yes this is a flirt . I lost my husband 7 years ago.
The building is not old. What you see is a 20th century hackjob based on a ruin left after it burned down in the early 18th century. Not even bistorically correct.
Mike- you're speaking English to German cows. Lol! You're mom is such a great lady. This has been a really fun series to watch, thank you for bringing us along!

Oh Mikey..words cannot express how much I feel both your joy and pain of being back home to the Old Country with your precious Mutter and getting emotional at your beloved Uncle's shop. The flood of memories are overwhelming. Being from Hungary and now in L.A., I've done the same thing going back to my homeland. Just know that you/we are beyond blessed to have had these rare experiences. Enjoy your time there and be super grateful for every moment with Mutter. It is priceless. Our time on this earth is like a mist. Here today, gone tomorrow. Much love to you both. 🙏👍🤩🙆♀️🇩🇪 🤗😘💚💜
My German husband proposed to me at Burg Linn, and yes, it is a "Wasserburg", my fav in Germany. Thanks for sharing beautiful memories, GiV, and say hello to your Mom 👩❤.
Incredible just incredible Mike. I am loving these videos of your home country. My great great grandfather was from Germany. He was a hessian mercenary hired by the the British to fight against Washington in the Revolutionary war. He was wounded and captured during battle and was nursed back to health by an American nurse who he fell in love with. He never went back to Germany. I have always wanted to go and see the country of my family and some how seeing it in your videos makes me feel like I am. Thankyou Mike.
We could hear the emotion in your voice when you were in your uncle's shop. Great memories! You should be sure to bring a few momentos back to Venice with you! Thanks for sharing Mike! 🤙
I loved my year in Germany. We lived in a little town called Nederrodanbach. I may have spelled it wrong. The town had remnants of a stone wall around it. Some of my favorite memories are the restaurants and the castles. I shopped in Hanau. The markplatz was beautiful at Christmas. I loved everything about Germany. I was there in 1973. I'm an old lady now. I love your videos. They bring back wonderful memories.
I was in BERLIN and BRAUNLAUGE HARTZ MOUNTAINS 🎿 in the 1960's. I was 12 and 15. My parent's were born in BERLIN mom HARTZ dad. I'm 68. Nice to meet you Linda Kennedy. From MICHIGAN.
Your mom reminds me so much of mine. Got a little tear in my eye more than once because I miss her so much. You're a good son for spending time with her. My father is 90 and he lives with me, and we do stuff together whenever we can. Peace and love.
Wow, you made me cry. My wife is German we are now separated but still leagally married, my father in law was a cobbler. All my kids live in Germany. God Bless Germany.

What a historical gem! This castle must have escaped many ancient wars and the ravaging bombs of the last wars in order to thrive and Thank you once again for another wonderful tour. PS. Your mother is the real star 🌟 of this video!
So touching to see your Uncles shop. I noticed that your mom's anchor shirt matched the anchor on your uncle's hat. Made me teary eyed. I would Definately hang out at your friends place while I was there! Thanks for sharing! 🇩🇪😊👍💖
It's amazing how a lot of these old castles in Europe survived WW2. I lived in Stuttgart as a kid in the 80's and remember going on a lot of field trips to a lot of these places
Your video let me imagine a lot about German history and old stuff. And your uncle's work room looks like the symbol of the famous German craftsmanship to me. Thank you!
Don’t worry about your video being too long. They’re never long enough in my opinion. I love to watch every one. You should stay there all summer with your mom and give us more tours.
Now I know why you are so happy all the time You act just like your mom. It was nice to see another side to you today when you were talking about your uncle. I know how you feel I miss my uncle/aunties so much. 😢 Now I know where you get that loving and giving spirit you have from your beautiful mom🥰💞🤷♀️
GIV Mike sorry for your loss, my prayers go out to you and your family. However its nice that you are able to get back to share your past and spend some time with your wonderful mom! Thanks for sharing! Also, pretty sure the cow at the beginning said either 'Woo' or maybe it was 'Who' (fyi Adam mentioned you yesterday in his Santa Monica vid)
In my dreams, I see myself as an Ottoman villager who visits German castles in the 13th century. In real life, I wish I were a sympathetic guy and visited my maternal uncle in Hamburg. My minimal disposable income is another reason why I will probably never be able to visit Germany. Thanks to GIV, I had an excellent virtual journey in my mind.
Amazing history, culture and pride of working with one own hands. Looking at your uncle's shop, the houses, castles -- I now see why Germans are great engineers and love to build and create stuff with their hands. Thanks for sharing this...and it is always a treat seeing your mother... the times you share together... regards from Kigali, Rwanda in Africa.
Mike, your uncle's workshop is to die for. How wonderful that you grew up in such a wonderful place surrounded by those you love. Thanks for sharing this personal part of your life. Private message me when you get back to L.A. I would love to have lunch. I have a few places you might like to explore.
Wow!! That was so cool. Thanking you for taking us to a different time and place. The castle was breathtaking, the stories of the castle was blind blowing. I can hear it your voice that you were tearing up about your uncle and I shed a tear for you too. Time is the most precious thing. Your friend's house was relaxing. He is so neat. From the bottle caps, hay, to the manure. The various animals. Is he married? Asking for a friend.

To the castle, to the streets of a little town in Germany,,, I loved seeing it all! I’m sorry about loosing your uncle, and you remembering all the good times with him in his shop will stay with you forever, I got very emotional with you. I just love seeing all those old buildings, and I’m glad they keep them like they originally was. And down to the guy that advertised your channel,,, just wow! Loved his shop also,, but you didn’t point out his Marilyn Monroe poster! Lol looks like a very cool place to set back and have a beer and talk about old times! Thanks for this awesome tour!

You picked the right video not to decide what to cut out. Your "German in Germany" videos are your best videos. And again, Mom is priceless. I would be so cool if you could take that stool home! It should be YOURS!
Your Mom is PURE DELIGHT!!! I'm really enjoying your video's in Germany!!! Your subscribers house is amazing I love it more than the Castle. I think I could live in this town, just drive to the nearest city when you need to do something 😁😁😁
Best video so far. Condolences on the lost of your uncle. He would be called a cobbler in the old days. Loved your friend's establishment with the golden retriever and the two horses and barnyard. I wouldn't be bored living there as long as I had a horse and a dog. Your Mom is great.
WOW A new channel German and Mom. Great stream. Thank You for sharing Germany. Mom Love seeing you. Great seeing the castle. Nice streaming. Mike Thank You for showing your family and friends. Prayers for you and your family.
Your mom has a wonderful smile and seems to have a great sense of humor. It’s so very nice to see someone honoring their parents, because it doesn’t happen so often these days.
Michael the G.I.V., My wife and I love your videos especially your visits to Krefeld, Dusseldorf and your trips to the local supermarkets, the fairs, the Castle (Burg Linn), the abandoned cars, and the surroundings with your buddies and especially your Mom. My wife is from Dusseldorf and we try to visit family as much as possible and we always miss the beauty and the great people of Deutschland. You have a great heart and sense of humor that really comes through in your videos in Germany and in the States. Enjoy the rest of your trip and we will be watching the rest of this Visit to Germany series until your returrn to the States. Have save travels and all the best before you "Get to the Choppa" back home.
Mike, love your Mom! This is a great series. The longer the better. That was really an emotional time in your Uncle's shoe shop. Reminded me of going through my grandfather's workshop and everything I touched or saw took me back to doing things with him. Would love to get to Germany. Maybe even say hello to your mom. Great video,! 🤠🧑🦰🌲🎶
I can tell how kind you are and so easy going and so smart and really so spontaneous Live in high desert Hope to mee you one day I live so. Marina deal Rey for 11 years Have fun in your homeland I left France 35 years ago
My Great Grandfather was a cobbler, he owned a small shop many moons ago in Edinburgh-Scotland where I live. Such an emotional time for you Michael and your family, sending you all healing hugs and love. I love seeing your mum 😊 she reminds me of my own mother, she is around the same age and she looks just like her too.....big hugs from me ( Heather ) 🤗
Aww... your Mommy is tha best! She has great energy! We know now where you get your great personality from! Awesome video! 🙂 Sending you all Love, Light and Healing with the passing of your Uncle. ❤
That was great! Everything is so beautiful and charming. Europe has so much more history than North America. I don't think there were suits many of armor in GIV size! It's nice you got to see your uncles place, and your coffee shop fan has a great place.
He grew up in a very historic surroundings . I thought I grew up in historic surroundings because it was upstate New York . But his history his way older than the British colonies .
As always, we Norwegians in Seattle absolutely love German in Venice, German anyplace in the world, and your precious & beautiful mother! In her 70’s??! She looks like she’s in her 50’s, and is a lovely lady, clearly inside & out, too. In our family, we say “well-preserved” when folks keep such vibrant youth, lol. Mike: THANK YOU, thank you so much for creating such fun & thoughtful content. We love your sense of humor & all of the good vibes ❤️❤️❤️!!! Danke wikinger bruder!!!
I could feel the pain in your voice when we stopped at your uncles house, mate. Reminded me of my grandfathers workshop. He was a cobbler / shoe repairer and he would show me how to fix shoes on a very similar machine to the one we saw.
Nice Burg Linn.
Nice "Schusterwerkstatt" from your uncle.
Very nice video. I love your videos. 👍👍👍

Nice to see your mother! Tell her we appreciate her son and his positive outlook!
I love seeing a real man spend time with his beloved mother, sorry for your uncle's passing ,very touching memories going through his shop🙏 hello to you and your family from Melbourne Florida 🇺🇸

That was so touching that you shared your uncle's shoe shop, it brought tears to my eyes. My condolences❤. Not to many people know the skill of shoe repair these days. Snd as always your mother is so lovely 🌻
Love your moms smile!! She seems like such a sweet person!
You look like your mom. Love these videos😢 it's always hard to lose someone special ❤️
Schön das du dich noch an so vieles erinnerst. Grüße aus Linn
What a great video! I love these tours of Germany. Your mom’s smile is contagious.
Luv your time in Deutchland! Danke. DR. Liam Stone.
We were just there on vacation a month ago. Its amazing how many people speak English. We watch every video GIV and we love you here in Mt Washington Ky. Take care of mom and keep up the good work my friend.
This was pretty cool. Glad you could hang out with your mum.
It's interesting to see that the city wall and Burg Linn castle have been so well preserved.
What city wall? That thing is a 19th century garden design. And the castle is a looks a bit like the original 20th century hackjob
Love your vids! "Princess Giesela" 😆
Your videos are never to long. They're always over before I know it.
I'm so enjoying your vacation and "Hi, Mom!"
Hahaha yes!!! Giv has moves!!!! Great video!!! 👍
I wish to travel there. Historical and serene.
So peaceful. No police sirens!!! No graffiti!! Love your country!!❤
Please help me build my house madam
There’s graffiti 😂and it’s in the beginning lol and so cool 😎 graffiti saved my life dont 🙏💚 MY BAD THERES NOT GRAFFITI IT WAS THE VIDEO BEFORE THIS ONE 🙏
You picked the right video not to decide what to cut out. Your "German in Germany" videos are your best videos. And again, Mom is priceless. I would be so cool if you could take that stool home! It should be YOURS!
People should be glad with rainfall: a beautiful green landscape without fires, but with excellent crop growth and huge harvests!
This was very emotional thanks for sharing ❤️
Your Mom is PURE DELIGHT!!! I'm really enjoying your video's in Germany!!! Your subscribers house is amazing I love it more than the Castle. I think I could live in this town, just drive to the nearest city when you need to do something 😁😁😁
God bless you mom.. have you long life ...
Ja! Das ist gut - sehr gut!
GIV loved seeing your Mom what a bright light she is :) Thanks for shareing her with us.

I left France 35 years ago
Men back then were smaller, generally only 5 ft tall. Most men of today wouldn't fit in them.
@@Ozymandias1 They averaged around 5'7" but I meant because of his big shoulders/build.
Mike, you and your mom are always happy. Germany is beautiful.
GiV, Thanks for taking us on a tour of the old castle. Enjoyed it very much!
Rest In Peace, Uncle. Please accept our condolences.
I could feel the pain in your voice when we stopped at your uncles house, mate. Reminded me of my grandfathers workshop. He was a cobbler / shoe repairer and he would show me how to fix shoes on a very similar machine to the one we saw.
Thank you for showing and narrating Linn! And including your mama, she is sweet!
