This might just be the best step by step video I have seen. Thanks for your clear explanation. Hoping just an O ring update fixes my '95, but if not, I know what to do now.
Glad to hear it, friend! Yes, those are the same design, and I probably should have said that in the video as well: I’m really glad this helped! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you so much, brother! This comment absolutely made my day. Happy Good Friday to you and yours from Arkansas! He is Risen! God bless you and yours!
Good video! I have all the components to do the 150. Only thing I would do different and maybe you did. I would bleed all of the ambient air out of my manifold lines before you started charging.
Been debating on installing a full F150 1995 A/C to my 85 Bronco and keeping the Vbelts. Or just break my bank with the vintage air instead of my head. Nice video
@@GrubNGas welcome. Just got done watching. I have the same bronco 96 Eddie Bauer. Just did a full fuel system upgrade. Coil distributor plugs wire fuel injectors vacuum lines ( had a fire) fuel diaphragm Schrader valve and a few others. Having some issues with a rough idle. But I was going to do a/c next.
Great video man. Im looking to replace the system in my 95 f150 4.9l soon. The full kits im looking at say the compressors come pre charged with pag oil, but they also send bottle of pag oil with it. Not sure why. If you have any input on that, let me know.
Thanks for the feedback! Well, mine did the same thing…I think I ended up putting too much oil in mine as a result. I’d definitely confirm the oil is in there…maybe ask the seller if they can confirm???
Got a question for you. I’m working on my 96 now and I got a situation where I need to know what the wiring looks like (color wise) coming from the 2 wire connector on the compressor, and the connector on the manifold connecting to the back compressor. Any help would be greatly appreciated there.
Here’s what’s on mine: Compressor wire colors if you’re facing the front of the compressor, black on the left, gray with a white stripe on the right. Sensor on the back of the compressor colors facing the plug from the drivers side fender are green with an orange strip on the left, and red with a yellow stripe on the right.
Great video. I am going to redo my entire a/c soon, and this video is perfect for me to follow. Thanks for putting this together. A couple questions, why didn't you replace the evap cooler as well since you were already in there? And the kit I'm looking at says compressor is pre-filled, should I trust that?
You know, I did not check, and probably should have. It wasn’t leaking so I left it alone. I’m adding that to my list of things to find out. Thanks for asking!
Are you in Arkansas? specifically alittle North of Central? I am in Cabot and I have a 1993 Bronco I am fixing up. I noticed the background in the video and had to ask!
@@GrubNGas That is awesome! I'm Arkansas born and breed as well, what are the odds? I drive around a black 1993 all the time and btw thank you so much for your videos they have helped me a lot!

Great video, thanks for creating. I’m rebuilding a 95 f250 and need to replace all AC components but am unsure if I can just remove/replace all the parts like you did or if I first have to have the system discharged? Don’t know if the AC worked or not but want everything replaced. Any thoughts? Thanks!
So glad this helped you! You can take the vehicle to an AC shop and they can evacuate any remaining Freon (if there’s any left) and then you can proceed with the rebuild. Hope that helps!
Very good video with nice camera work, BUT, you made a mistake by not replacing both of the lines. You could have done so for $100. As I recall, the 134 works at a higher pressure than 12 does so it's all the more reason to change the hoses. I have an original one (1990) that leaks at a crimp. Also, you should have shown the vent temperature with a thermometer. My crew cab takes 52 ounces. There's a sticker with this info on the accumulator. Maybe yours had been replaced before. Overall, a nice job.
Thank you for the input, and I agree, it would have been better had I replaced the lines. I’ll double check my Freon after reading this to make sure it’s topped off. Have a great night!
@@GrubNGas Also, you put all of the oil into the compressor. I got the Four Seasons kit. It came packaged better but it come with 3 ounces in the compressor. The instructions say to add oil to the suction side of the compressor so it has half the system oil capacity in the compressor. Were there instructions and if so, did you read them? I've seen ac videos where they pick up the instructions and toss them aside without ever looking at them. Manly, but stupid. My system holds 10 ounces of oil so I put 2 ounces in the compressor and put the shipping cap back on. Aside from not overfilling the compressor, it also won't run out when installing it on the vehicle. Then put the compressor vertical, clutch down, for several minutes so the front seal gets lubricated or it could leak. It says to put the other 5 ounces in the accumulator. Before starting the engine they say to rotate the compressor about 10 turns to make sure there is no oil in the compressor cylinders. I installed an inline filter and water filter in my air hose at the blow gun. No sense in adding moisture to the system at this point. I could see it did collect water as I blew out the cleaner. The cleaner instructions said to blow air through the evap and condenser for 30 or 40 minutes to dry it as much as possible. Its a non solvent type that says any remaining product in the system is ok as it is compatible with R12 and R134a.
@@trustme7731 thanks for the additional information. I’ll keep these tips handy for the next one. So far, it’s still blowing ice cold, so here’s hoping for a long life on the new system. Appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge!
Do you remember how much refrigerant you used on this? I bought a similar kit from the same people for a 1991 f150 and it came with a newer style condenser(parallel flow) that looks a lot like yours, along with a flyer that read I would be using up to 20% less refrigerant than my OEM condenser(piccolo tube). But I can't find any info about the exact amount needed anywhere! Tech support to me 54 oz's and I know that can't be right.. Anyway awesome video really helped with my install.

I don’t disagree with you that on paper we don’t look like we’re in a recession. But ask any average guy/gal on the street if they feel uplifted in their personal economic growth…or how many meals they can buy with $100.00 versus 3.5 years ago…or how much home they can afford…or how many days are left before they get paid again and the money has run dry…or how many purchases (some of them necessities) they’ve delayed indefinitely… Some things just don’t fit the textbook definition.

Most suppliers tag the compressor with how much oil they installed in the compressor then you add the remainder to achieve specs

@GrubNGas okay, I'll go ahead and replace that too. Yes, prefilled with PAG oil.
