Uber cool....I caught the "Jaco Pastorius Big Band" in Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale about 20 years ago. AMAZING performances. Any chance of a Band like that being in existence today?
I've always wondered what happened at 5:32 when it sound like Brecker ends his solo but then it kind of continues for another round with him doing those fills. It almost sounds like a mistake but also sounds like it was meant to happen. Such a great track and also album!
I’ll tell you what happened…Michael started the solo and of course, Bob it’s an amazing player but after Brecker it’s almost hard to play, and I’m thinking that Bob looked at Mike and told him to continue 😜. Brecker was BRECKER!🚀
Mike was blowing on the intro.......Bob was playing fills between the melody and blowing the first solo after the melody ... Mike has the second solo... I was there 35 years ago... Great concert!
Mr mike brecker is flawless & 🐐 4 ever
Jaco my lord!! Laying down the beat. So tasteful. Great solos as well. So much star power in this performance. Loving it!
Mintzer and Berg are truly great, but Mr. Brecker is in a class all by himself.
wHats up Terry........i Agree
Studied with Bob (Berg) before his untimely death. Super nice person - totally down to earth.
Beauty! Super sweet Chicken
I believe this is the concert at Mr. Pips in Fort Lauderdale. I was there and remember Jaco saying hello to his mother.
really?
You are correct sir!

The two other tenor players are great but you can sure tell when Mike Brecker solos .
Don't forget the trumpet player! Is that Jon Faddis?
that intro sax is Michael Brecker though Berg is pictured which is misleading indeed
sorry Mintzer not Berg they are both very similar
@ 0:30, that's actually Bob Berg, the third man in the big three (Brecker, Mintzer, Berg) :).
You mean on the picture?
Yes. Sorry for not clarifying.
+Michael Brown That's Bob Mintzer though
No, that's Bob Berg. In his early days Berg also had a bushy 'fro that made him look like Bob Mintzer.
I'm pretty sure it's Mintzer
PHENOMENAL ....
There's a pic at 5:07 with a guitarist. Pat Methany ????
i thought it was mintzer first...the second solo has brecker all over it, no?!
Mike was blowing on the intro.......Bob was playing fills between the melody and blowing the first solo after the melody ... Mike has the second solo... I was there 35 years ago... Great concert!
Melton Mustafa played the trumpet solo....
Greg Diaz really? I think that was a great experience for you.
Just happened to be flipping thru You Tube and found this version of The Chicken. All I can say is, "Got damn!! They threw down!!"
