Your comments on Bonnet made me remember . . . . Sean Bean was born to play Steven Bonnet, if the show had been produced in the 90's or 00's. Sean was Bonnet to a "t" when he was younger, right down to the blond hair and green eyes of the Bonnet of the book as well as his excellence in playing villains who have a reason to behave as they do. Ditto Alex Kingston as Claire because of the curly hair.

Haha I agree with that disturbing beauty and the beast episode xD. This episode was without a doubt disturbing and scary, crazy to think how things like that were common, and still are. To be abused and sold. It is really not a good thing to imagine or ever experience.

“This is not period accurate but she’s gorgeous” what a mood girl 🤣 I feel that a lot of with outlander. They get a pass from me like reign did most of the time
The Lannister song definitely fits for Bonnet. He definitely would be in that family somehow lol kind of reminds me of a darker version of Jamie

I loved all of Brianna's burns xD I would also agree that I would probably be more afraid of Claire just based on one scene in the first book :D

i love the part when the whales appear. reminded me of my favorite star trek movie the voyage home. your right no one will miss Bonnette as he is evil end of story. never sorry to see him meet his end at Brianna's hand. great reaction

I hate when characters say, “he’s mine!” How about whoever gets a clean shot just take it, okay?

"this is like the scene from twilight when people got murdered"
    hahahahaahahahahah i cant
i think im not crazy if i say Bonnet lasts a bit more in the books, but they are like 900 pages books, so i understand the show...i think they changed the order of some things this season tho.

Stephen Bonnett is the one villain in this series that I hated just about as much as Capt. Randall.

They were both vile but an underrated villain to me is Lionel brown. To me he was one of the worst people in this show and as bad as jack randall

@@gracebarnett5942 Lionel was vile. He was just barely under Bonnett and Randall in my hatred for them.

I think well-organized brothels would do exactly that - use the information gained from their customers for blackmail or other profitable ventures, depending on what they overheard. I know that in the wild west, the people who were the most likely to have a lot of cash on hand were actually the madams, not the banks, so the madams were known to issue loans and be prominent business people.
Bonnet actually survived another book beyond where he died on the show. There were a handful of other encounters that would take too long to explain because they're tied to cut story lines. The best encounter is probably when Brianna shot his testicle off... I think the showrunners decided to just wrap his story up so they could focus on the war in the upcoming seasons, and I think that was a good decision. I do miss that Eppie, the whore who talked and saved Brianna actually got more of a happy ending in the books. There's a side story cut from the show about Lizzie's betrothed, a young man on the Ridge, who didn't stop frequenting whores when he got engaged. He got syphilis and ran off before Claire could tell him she could cure him. It caused a load of drama on the Ridge because his family refused to believe that he had an STD. They found him later with Eppie, who had saved Brianna from Bonnet, and Claire cured them both of syphilis and brought them back to the Ridge. So Eppie didn't have to be a whore anymore. I suppose it's possible that could still happen in later seasons, but it seems to me like they've thoroughly wrapped up the Bonnet storyline, so we just have to imagine that some customer of Eppie's on the show rescued her from her unfortunate occupation.

_Moby Dick_ is an interesting read and I've only read twice because I knew that the first time I didn't understand everything. It took me a year both times. But a fun read? I was confused by that one also. I've never seen anyone who isn't reading it only to study the material.
I could paraphrase some Shakespeare and _Pride and Prejudice._ As well as _Harry Potter_ because its my "I don't want to think too hard" reading, if that makes sense.

Historically brothels were great gossip dens. Where for a few coins a man could get the newest of information among other things

I don't ever watch this episode because I find the whole captivity thing so disturbing. I think someone else mentioned in the comments that in the books Brianna shot Bonnet through the testicles. There's a nod to this in one of the season 6 episodes when Jamie walks by a mantle and sees a bottle that's labeled with as containing the testicles of the famous pirate Stephen Bonnet. I laughed quite a lot at that . Wow OK

That was an amusing scene, I can’t recall if I included it in my reaction to that episode, but it was definitely memorable.

  • @666johnco
    @666johnco 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

John whatever you do don't mention that no part of the British Empire was using drowning as a capital sentence in the 1770's. pirates were hanged at the waterline with their bodies gibbeted as to be visible at the entry way to a port. Obviously though they wanted to give Brianna the chance to finish him off post all the injury getting a £7 insult on top. Well obviously everything is going to go nicely for the reast of the season now the main villain's dead.................
