    I love them both!

Seems like, if your able, an easy buy for both cases. One for special occasions, and one for EDC. That smoked look on the asvine looks quite fantastic too.

The nib on mine is one of the best EF in my possession. It writes like a dream and did so right out of the box. That's a lot more than I can say for some of my much more expensive purchases. And one more thing, you can easily disassemble this pen from the section to the vacuum piston which makes it super easy to clean. Do that with the Pilot and you risk voiding your warranty. Thanks, Mick, for sharing.

I got the Asvine V126 as a present. It will be good as an EDC, utility pen. I was comparing the feel of the Asvine to my Pilot Custom 74 and Custom 912 (I don't have the 823) and somehow the texture of the Asvine felt lower quality in a way other similarly priced pens don't. But mine writes very well and I think it will be a good workhorse pen, even if it's not a fancy thoroughbred.

Would love to know if you prefer the Asvine to the Wing Sung 699?

@@bkbk1184 now that would be an interesting comparison… the nib on page experience and the material/finish on the asvine wins hands down. No competition. But the Wingsung is a remarkable pen at it’s price point… and feels really great too

The Pilot 823 could easily be your one - pen collection

I had no luck with my Asvine. I put it in a drawer waiting to save for the Pilot Custom…
I was initially impressed by the smoothness of the Asvine (mine is an F nib) but then ink flow issues arises. Even untwisting the tail didn’t allow the ink to reach the feed. The space left by the rubber seal was not enough to win the surface tension of the ink. The nib is dry enough to be uncomfortable to write with anyway, and is so springy that trying to spread the tines made no results. They returns to be too tight anyway.
Maybe it’s a feed problem, not a nib problem, I don’t know. Forcing the ink in the feed with the piston made it a wonderful writer for a line or two… so sad.
In general, buying a Chinese inspired pen “to try” the real deal has been a huge mistake. I did the same mistake with the Jinhao 80.
The Lamy 2000 is incomparably better ❤

I'm extremely disappointed in my Pilot 823, tines must be out of alignment as it skips sometimes and has a lot of feedback. In comparison my Lamy Safari and Asvine P80 with EF, F AND M nibs write better. The store I brought it from is making it very difficult to return, so disappointing for the expense and all the great reviews others have given it 😢

Oh that’s frustrating. Send me email or an instagram message, it’s such a great pen and I hate that it’s not performing for you.

Asvine looks cool, Pilot looks old fashioned (in a bad way).

@@ichirofakename well, that’s subjective. I love the elegant, traditional design of the Pilot. It really appeals to me. But, I also love the sleek matte finish and black trim of the Asvine, so these are all personal takes

@@theoffstageme Of course. There's an aesthetic choice available though.
