I think if I heat the lotion bottle to lower its viscosity maybe a day before using again, the bubbles in the lotion should be able to escape allowing me to get a bubble free demold 🥰
Creating my list now... * baby lotion * wide array of stencils * nifty holder for my let's resin mixer Sir Daniel!! You are costing me a fortune.. 😉 😂 thanks again for all that you do! 💕
@@daniel..cooper at least when I make purchases on your recommendation I don't ever suffer buyers remorse.. Should I just message you my credit card number?? That way you can place my order when you do yours.. Lol! I appreciate you!! 💕
You’re really on a roll with so many great ideas. Who knew there was so many different ways to enhance our projects? Thanks for all your hard work Daniel. You are appreciated!
A very genius idea here! To color the ‘etching’ I would ‘swipe ‘n wipe’ over the design with a wax based colorant, like shoe polish! I think it would come off the smooth surface nicely and just darken the design. Or for a metallic look, something like Rub ‘n Buff might work well. Just a couple ideas that occurred when you went for the acrylic paint 😉
I sure wish you would publish your wonderful work in a book. I’m so interested in this creative endever you so patiently deliver yet my senior yrs compromise my time for utube…thankyou.
I love this effect. The plain glass etching look is what I prefer. Although I like the gold in the leaves. ❤ Thank you so much for posting your experiments.
Very good idea about the stencil and cream / lotion! Couple things that come to my mind: - after pouring the resin you could try tapping on the table for a while, as vibration makes bubbles go up - maybe you could try going with a Dremel in the insets to sand down the surface (reducing the bubble's holes) and getting a matte finish for the shapes Great content and ideas, keep it up ! :)
This was a real win / win for you. Like you I prefer the original etched look, but Mrs Cooper had a major win too with the nail powder! It really enhanced the butterfly and took away nothing. Kudos to you Mrs Cooper!
Oh you make me laugh, the"swipe and wipe". The small bubbles surprised me, but you are right about the texture. It looks nice on the leaf. And gold on the leaves looks great. Thank you for sharing😊
I agree, the ones left 'untouched' are really classy. Love the narcissus - they remind me a little of _René Lalique's_ stunning glassware. Another banger, Professor Cooper! 🖤
Oh, yay! You went back to the etch look! LOVE that bubbly texture you got with the heated lotion. It looks really cool. 😍 Mrs. Cooper's idea turned out great! My !ind is spinning in all directions, now. Wow, you could make some really cool Christmas tree baubles with this technique!
Great video Daniel. The stand is awesome. I really like the clear etched look. Thank you again for your wonderful talent and videos ❤ Take great care and keep creating and smiling ❤
I’ve got this mixer as it came with the gallon of resin I ordered from them last week (it was a lightening deal offer) and for me as well, it’s a complete game changer and my resin has never been so clear with hardly any bubbles. I’m off to buy the stand now, as I had no idea they had this too. Oh and I’ve got the baby lotion now and that’s my next thing to do once I’ve got my current project finished! Thanks 😊
WOW!!!!! I am so blown away!!! Think of the possibilities for this technique!!! I am pulling out my stencils this weekend and having a go at it!!!! Thank you Daniel with your scientific mind and your go big or go home attitude!!! Keep ‘em coming. my friend!!!!
I agree the paint in the etching detracts. However, in m mind ... a thin coating of alcohol ink very very subtle transparency might look good like water color. That might be a fun experiment.... it will be on my list of things to try .... im also wondering if letting the lotion dry out then paint the lotion parts with alcohol ink ifvit would transfer some color ... although way less control maybe ..... ok now i think i need to try ot out with just a blob of lotion let it dry then paint in an abstract pattern with different colors and transparencys on the blob and see if there is any transfer and control issues .... ill leave the content production to you ... hope you try it and show the results!!!
I have the upgraded version and it's A1 setting is an absolute game changer ,I was finding mixing by hand really very painful as I have osteoarthritis, and carp tun in both hand n wrists .I absolutely love it ,I also have a allergic reaction if I accidentally get resin on my skin so have to be very very careful even though I wear the appropriate safety wear ,so the less in contact with the resin by hand the better ,no more swollen hands or wrists ❤❤
Wow what a lovely design that turned out to be. I'm new to your channel but loving how you experiment with different thing's making it much different from other channels 👍🏼
Yay! The description box came back! I don't know why it wasn't there the other day but I am glad it's back because I definitely want to find the products that you use ❤
Maybe, while the stencil is still on, one could put some colored powder on top, so it sits between the lotion and the resin and gets picked up by the resin? Though the lotion might just absorb it. Maybe you already tried that out by now though, since I'm seeing this late.
Saw your video the other day with you having fun...trying to put the baby lotion in the small squeeze bottle. I put the lotion into a piping bag then squeezing that into the bottle worked amazingly. Just thought I'd share incase you hadn't already figured a better way.
I feel like one of the things people like about DIY craft videos is that anyone can do them easily. I enjoy watching your videos and others because I can picture myself doing what I'm watching. Everything used in making resin crafts like colors, powders, foil etc. can financially add up, though in small amounts it's still doable. I feel like when you start using things like heat mats, pressure chambers, cordless mixers and mixer holders though, the simple crafts seem to feel more commercial and less personal. I like videos that introduce these things. It's nice to see what's out there but when added to simple projects I start feeling less interested or just overwhelmed by all the things I need to get in order to do a little craft project. I know people say, "Well, you don't need to use them." If someone is doing a "how to video" though and they are using all these gadgets it's hard to relate to that project. Am I the only one who feels this way? Is it just the poor in me? 😄
They are stunning, definitely better without the acrylic paint, you don’t know till you try! I actually like the smoked look of the mould behind after using the nail dust. Thanks again for sharing you knowledge Mr Cooper, thanks also to Mrs Cooper for her recommendation 😊
I have a wedding in a few weeks. Going to make a plaque with a few of their pictures and the baby lotion for their names and wedding date. I am so excited to make it. Thanks again Daniel for sharing your talent!
Those turned out really good!! This is my first time watching your channel and I have already shared this video with a friend who is starting resin art. I believe she will love this also!! 😀
I absolutely LOVE your content! Just wanted to get it out there! The simple elegant frosted glass" is definitely my favorite. It keeps it from turning into kitsch. Butterfly was just beautiful. Leaves' texture looked as an intended effect. Wonderful trick! 😍😎
You could also do a color resin with the stensile, lift the stensile and let it harden, then over it with clear to get a coloring effect to your clear coasters
I think if I heat the lotion bottle to lower its viscosity maybe a day before using again, the bubbles in the lotion should be able to escape allowing me to get a bubble free demold 🥰
How about trying this with Vaseline (petroleum jelly)? It has a lower water content than lotion, so hopefully fewer bubbles.
@maiaallman4635 I did think about this but maybe more difficult to wipe up?
Can you put the lotion in the resin degasing machine? Or pressure pot.
I think I'd try popping the lotion in the freezer for 15 mins before using. IDK, does lotion freeze?
@anitamitchell3452 yes, it should freeze 😊😊
Creating my list now...
* baby lotion
* wide array of stencils
* nifty holder for my let's resin mixer

The main line of chalk paint at Walmart has several colors of a wax to go over it.
I've only found you about a week ago, but I'm really loving your experiments with resin. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!

Thank you 😊 definitely a win win 😊😊
The gold leaves are gorgeous, and remind me of autumn leaves with the first frost on them. Beautiful!
Excellent project! And I agree, the coloring of the butterfly took away from your etched project. The powders looked much better. ❤️
Love the butterfly with the iridescent colors!
Thanks Carol 😊
I really like your creativity & experimentation! ❤
Thank you! 😊
They are beautiful, i like the bubbles in the leaves, the powder colour looks beautiful in them ❤
Thanks 😊

Wow, thank you 😊
I love these etched designs! What an amazing idea using lotion. Thank you for sharing your experiments and this idea.

Yep!! Much prefer the nail powders. Those bubbles in the leaves looked quite nice. The leaves Autumn leaves that had fallen
I've taken a few weeks off and when I came back you've blown my mind again! Absolutely brilliant!!!!

Thank you so much! 😊
Absolutely AWESOME 😮😮❤❤ And love the stand. I do love the colored powder effects.
Thanks Tammy 😊 🫂
I am using Vaseline, and it works great as well.
Do you think I could use any thick lotion?
These are really beautiful!
Great video Daniel. The stand is awesome. I really like the clear etched look. Thank you again for your wonderful talent and videos ❤ Take great care and keep creating and smiling ❤
Thanks Dale, yes, I prefer it clear..... for now 😂 More to come soon 😊😊😊
Hi Daniel superb absolutely fantastic ideas I really loved these keep sharing new information thanks a lot 🙏
My pleasure! Thank you 😊
Thank you Daniel. I tested the lotion, and by gum this 80yr old great granny got it spot on. I thank you for all your experiments. You are the best.
Yay, congratulations 🎊 😊😊😊
Hi Daniel. Thank you once again for a detailed well explained video. Always look forward to the next new video..😊❤
Thank you! 😃
If you want to colour the 'etching', what about translucent glass paint? It would give you a stained glass look.
Absolutely love them. The effects are just gorgeous, you’ve given me some real inspiration
Thanks so much 😊
🎉These are wonderful! Love the colors 😍 😊
Thanks so much 😊
Hi Daniel! This work is Superb!!! 😊
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks, Daniel.
LUV this technique..You can use tape to lift the excess powders from around the design then apply a thin layer of resin overall.
Amazing. Daniel this is absolutely stunning. Who would have thought baby lotion. Thank you so much for sharing your experiments ❤
My pleasure 😊 thanks as always Maddie 😊😊
You are truly breaking the creativity barriers ❤️. Thank you sooooo much for your vision and creativity🥰
I think they look great. Thanks again for sharing ❤
You are so welcome! Thank you 😊
I'm sure the agents for Istoyo thank you for the EXTENSIVE advertising.
Maybe try glass paint, it gives a stained glass effect. But I loved the butterfly!!
I liked the effect from the lotion bubbles giving texture. To me it looked etched❤

Hi Dan. Another great experiment. Would it be possible to buff out the imperfections or would that simply make things worse? Have a great day.
Hi Anita, I didn't even think about that! Yes, a rotary tool would work, just a quick once over and will have an even more etched look I think 😊
