    I exercised along without a step - thinking of getting “the mom” step - 76 and haven’t used a step in years ! Always a good workout!

    Surfing through your videos to find ones that I've not done. This one was a great start to a new week. Full body workouts are so empowering! So appreciate how encouraging you are, April. Your mom summed it up perfectly at the end, "This was a good one."

    I really like woking out with you. Exercises are not too strenuous. I have always had problem going up and down stairs. This helps me with strength and balance of going down the stairs. Wish i could work out with you guys in person.

    This was a good workout to try. Never done this and just used some books to do the step, of course put against a wall so it doesn't slide. I can feel it really does give your legs a workout and good for the knees as well. I see Mochi checking in for the workout too. Thank you ladies.

    I just bought my first step! I am 66 years old soon to be 67 in July. I am obese but will never give up in the hopes that I will no longer be obese. also I am compelled to do exercises because I don’t want to be stiff and unable to have mobility. I pray that till the day I die I am up and about doing what I want to do. One thing for sure I want to do till the day I die is be able to garden and produce food. I really love you ladies! You bring a smile to my face when I do your workouts. Thank you so much for sharing your fitness knowledge on TH-cam so that I can watch it!
    I bought the step your mom uses. I don’t know what the difference is between your step and her step besides cost. Can you tell me?

      Thank you! Happy you enjoy the workouts! As a young 66 soon to be 67 it's terrific that you are exercising to get strong and healthy! You can do it! Using a Step is a good way to start! It raises your heart rate and gets your muscles moving! Start any of our routines at a pace that is comfortable for you and go from there! No need to rush.
      The difference in our Steps is mine is higher and can be adjusted to go abit higher while Mom's like yours, is lower and one height only. But it's a good one to begin with and as you get stronger go to the higher Step. Be patient and be consistent and you will see good healthy results from all your efforts!       According to the Amazon description the one your mom uses can be raised one level more. A photo of the step shows the underside with two platforms that can be added. Your mom doesn’t have them? I just got mine and yes it does have the two additional platforms on the underside to make it higher

    I don't have a stepper, so I improvised by stepping up on my toes for the up, up and doing mini squats for the down down. It was a good workout for my legs.

    I liked the combination of the step and the strength training. One question about using the step: should you look down or look straight ahead when doing the moves? I don't particularly like the feel of looking down, but it feels a little risky to JUST look straight ahead. Usually I try to glance down now and then but keep my head straight up when I can. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you to both of you!

      Glad you enjoyed this workout. Safety is most important. Take your time and master the moves. Maintaining good posture including having your head up is optimal. But it is fine and important to gaze down slightly to ensure that you are stepping fully and correctly on the step. Use a countertop, table, or chair for stability if needed. As your body gets used to the moves and you gain strength, it will be easier to keep your head up and glance down from time to time. Keep up the excellent work!
