- It's Aidyn turn to learn how to paint. He's never used a paint gun before today so we're going to teach him the fundamentals in this video and get him to practice by spraying epoxy first then he's all hands on deck with the red paint ✅

Aidyn did fairly good on his first time painting. What would help him out is to take a body part from the door yard and just some very cheap paint and just spend time getting use to the way the gun works. Chad is teaching him very well. Queen Jolene is on her game with the video.
Even just spending time spraying water to get the feeling of the two stage trigger etc

Chad great to you taking the time in mentoring Aiden and passing on your skills to the next generation. Everyone has their own way of doing things but we only learn from someone taking the time to pass on the knowledge they have learned and then finding ways to do the same job but that work for them but the foundations come from someone like yourself showing them first. Chad you won't get the fan even all the way along with a 39 dollar gun . The fan pattern is way more consistent with the more expensive sata or de vil bi's guns
Please warn Aidyn to be careful to not inject paint into finger. I have a friend that had to have his finger amputated from paint injection. Another friend also injected as well as myself... l had surgery to open finger full length and paint removed. Not to be just played with. Every time l watch you spray l keep waiting for you to warn people about injection dangers. Perhaps the guns these days are safer than they used to be.
Best teach him how to protect his lungs properly! The filters on his mask is red and clogged from previous spraying! Get him a proper air fed protective spraying mask

Hi Chad , if you open your hand out fully the distance between your thumb and little finger(pinky) I's the ideal distance from spray gun to panel & it is also the perfect size of your fan (spray pattern) . That's how I taught my boys to spray .

I would have had the spoiler hang lower. Arm stretch isn’t comfortable. You guys aren’t 6’5” tall.

Loved this video! I'm an Automotive Engineer but am also a fully qualified mechanic. I trained a mechanic apprentice years ago, who passed his apprenticeship, and who now works at a garage that deals with all kinds of cars. From cheap runabouts to Lambos, and everything in between including classis. He said to me after a year of completing his apprenticeship "everything that I know is because of you". That really hit me, and I'll never forget it. Passing on these skills to the next generation is the most rewarding thing ever! Especially when they appriciate it and go on to make a living doing it. Huge respect to Chad and Jolene. Also thanks for these videos as I'm useless at bodywork, and will be taking what I've learned from you and applying it to a project car I have. 😊
I love to see the pros share their skills and teach the younger generations how to do the job. Each time we share our experience we insure that those skills will continue. Great job Chad and Jolene.

Å good informative video. Aidyn is lucky. You should put him outside to "paint" the wall on the building with water. I think it would help him get the feeling of the gun. Practice practice practice
He is learning well. When I first started, I used to practice spaying water on things to see how the patern worked. After practicing muscle memory comes with enough practicing. One tip I found was just wrap the air hose around your arm then maybe over your shoulder. This way the hose never hits your work.

I agree to disagree. Some people are intellectually good at school and some aren’t. You can study your ass off and still get shitty grades. Hard work manual labor doesn’t take intellectual just hard work. Some are intellectual and the others well hard work
clean that mask before you shove it on your face with 70% alcohol . Plus always use the pre filters . Those charcoal filters do not last long . You can extend the life of the filter by keeping it stored air tight in a zip lock baggie and pulling the pre filters off before storage .

Give him about 2 shots of wiskey and you will be amazed at how much more relaxed and fluid he becomes with the paint gun

Painting is a four dimensional skill, takes a while to get actually good at it. Good job for a first time though.
