What model Singer machine is that, and how large of a thread and stitch length di you use?
Seat looks amazing! Those old Singers are real workhorses, and adaptable.
This man, just like me, discovered the value of an original black Scottish Singer machine. It far outrank other machines, when it comes to this type of work.
Totally awesome Dan 👍keep up the fantastic work mate 🤘👍🤘👍
That fit is phenomenal! Love how well all your hard work and attention to detail is paying off!
Thank you so much Evan
really like how you've made the seat sit flush on the frame, looking forward to the next episode !
That seat fit looks amazing. Really impressed with how well your skill level is coming along with the build. Awesome!
Matthew Wright thank you Matthew I’ve got so many more ideas for videos still to come. Thank you for your kind words
Thanks again for the awesome work!
Absolutely brilliant. Well done! One of the biggest aesthetic changes IMO
Coming together nicely man!
Nice one, Dan! It 's very satisfying if you can make things like this.
Awesome Job....First Class Mate !!
Hello from Japan
It is very interesting and I will refer to it
Thank you always for the wonderful video
woah! that seat!!
Super clean. Nice work.
Hi, lovely job !!! I like how it looks with the green fuel tank. Looking great. thanks for the video. Gus
thank you Gus, I had mixed feelings about that but now I love it :)
Looks perfect! 👌🏼
Completely stunning work mate, as always. You are a true inspiration for me, as I am (trying to) build my first bike as a bloody beginner (16 years old xD).
Love your Videos and got a lot out of them already.
In Russia we say "Hands are growing from the right place".Really amazing result and really awesome project!
Keep your work up!
You do some really amazing work
Great job, looks amazing and like the subtle change in the size of the sections :)
Thank you mate its noticeable to me and you but like you said its subtle :)
Dan,
You make that look so easy to do, I'm sure it was not the case but that seat turned out great. Keep up the great builds and videos, I always look forward to your new videos.
Awesome video, very informative and the seat looks amazing.
You did a great job on that seat. Great eye to details.
Thank you mate

Well Done!
I'm from mozambique, i'm starting to see your great deeds now and i hope to have some ideas for my scrembler and strength!
I'm really impressed by the quality of your work, and I like the fact that you do everything yourself, even when sometimes you could just buy the parts already made for cheap. Nice work man! I know the pain it is to make a homemade seat cover lol
I mainly want to fabricate everything for this build because it’s a budget challenge and my time is free 👍😊 but I don’t have a Cnc machine, lathe or Miller so I’m limited with some things however I do the best I can with what I have :) thank you for your kind words yet again mate, I always remember the good comments 😁👍
@@CafeRacerGarage Oh okay I get it :) sometimes when I try to fabricate things on my builds, I end up buying more in materials and tools than the part itself haha but hey, it's much more fun to make it yourself :). Hope you'll have better tools soon, I envy classic octane right now, his new garage is so awesome lol. No worries, keep up the good work ;)
really nice!!
Awesome 👏👏👏👏👏
amazing and very inspiring video!!! Keep it up :)
My son and I are doing a build, and I learned a lot from this video. Thank you
That end result is absolutely gorgeous dude. Love it!
Really nice work!
Mega job 👍🏻
That looks really nice! I've got a 1980 Yamaha XS250 which I've had half restored for about 20 years and the biggest hurdle was the rusted seat pan. The foam is fine and I've only just realised I could make a fibreglass pan for it. So easy!
very professional looking job!
You're an artist 😍
Your videos are always great!!!
nicely done
Amazing!! Nothing more I can say
Thank you that is very kind :)
cant wait for the out coming of this cafe racer! really like it soo damn bad
You did a nice job with an old domestic drop foot machine! Seat came out great!
Well done, ive done a lot of seats and enjoyed that
Awsome seat mate 👍🏼 looks like a pro did it
Very nice job MAN . Keep up
Beautifully done, Dan... you are the Renaissance Man! BTW, we call those bolts “eyebolts” as well. 🏍👍🏍
Gary A, Learn, Do, Teach, not sure if I did it right way but it turned out okay for my first one :)
Cafe Racer Garage 🙌
Cool, thanks for share.
Looks fantastic
Thank you so much mate :)
well done
Amazing idea im enjoying watching your content making motorcycle seat cover thank you for sharing
Wow - you did a perfect job 👍👍
Mate that came out sweet. I like the way you have a crack at everything and pretty much pull it off every time. 👍
Adsy GC thanks mate, I do make mistakes as well and I also show them, however, I learn from my mistakes and keep going till I get it.
That came out fantastic, great job. Seat videos are always the best.
D_ Baggington thanx mate. It wasn’t as easy as I originally thought but I’m happy with the outcome
@@CafeRacerGarage how comfortable is a seat like that with just that one piece of foam?
Wow, great job. Looks like A professionally made seat.
az cafemoto thank you mate I did take my time with it even tho it looked like it went together fast in the video.
Top Class.
Great color combo btw
Badass stitching !
Angel Guerrero thank you mate, I like to me creative and unique
Awesome upholstery work. Also, I think a *White tank* will go well with that *Brown seat*
Dan... the one guy who can make sewing look badass. 😎
Haha that's classic :) Thank you
thanks for sharing this, have a nc day mate
asdfghjkl zxcvbnm not a problem my friend, I hope it helps you with your motorcycle seat build 👍
It came out looking really great, wow its been a long time but both bikes is nearly complete.
uni nani tell me about it I’m so keen to ride one
Seat came up a treat m8, the little things do make a difference. CHEERS m8 : )
BOBBER400 thank you buddy 😁
That is a beautiful seat.
Thank you Nick Im happy with it
Nice job, well made, never been into brown seats and think they should be reserved for when you have a near miss ;), each to their own :) The bike is coming on great.
Brilliant video Dan. Really useful information makes upholstery look accessable. Not a fan a sewing machines but that Singer is such a nice looking bit of kit. The seat has turned out beautifully. Hopefully many comfy adventure miles to be had on it. The idea of the brake light in the rack is a great one if you can sort out the electrics to be removable. Great work dude 👍👍
Thank you Adam, yes sewing machines this cool need to be in video :) I wish I did a few things differently when I made it but its done now so I will mention them in a video at some point just to help others, its mainly about the foam, yes the un plug tail light is a fantastic idea :)
That’ll teach you to stop and grab lunch. Lol. Nice work dan. 👍🏻
So true, I didn't mind as It wasn't hard to fix luckily
Tail led light trough the square hole in the luggage rack! 🤩
for sure :)
That's the same thread I use on my blue jeans. It's all looking great, man!
Haha did you rip them doing something bad LOL
Ace.
Wow Awesome!
I have been waiting for this vid since you bought the Singer!
SwedenAirhead yes it has been sitting there just waiting for me to use it. I had some issues with it after I reconditioned it but it was just a few adjustments and I was up and rolling
Real nice work.
Its hilarious to see you geting in to details and finish with high end results
I noticed. Well done!
Thank you mate
very good
An excellent guide to use on your machine, is to get 2 super magnets, and glue them on a narrow type, short length of aluminum angle.
It's sticks very well on that cast iron base of the machine
See my KZ 750B cafe I just finished. Great videos!
Dude, that looks so f'ing cool!!! IIIIGH FIIIIIVE brother.
Came for the sewing machine; stayed for the seat. I've got the singer 15-91 I plan on rebuilding. So I can do my own seat covers.
That's what its all about
Nice work Dan. I’m at this stage now with my seat build. I too have a fiberglass base and am thinking of drilling holes and pop rivet the material in place. Think that’d work as well? Glue might be easier, though I’ve read it sometimes will let go.
Cheers and keep up the great work!
Great finish! looks like its been done by a pro
Great work Dan multi-skilled or what! I use lanolin spray for corrosion protection for chrome, stainless etc, natural, works great, doesn''t evaporate.
mongrelkat 1 great idea and thank you 😊 I try :)
MAN.... that came up mint
Great job Dan!
CHARLES BRONSON thank you Charles it was kinda fun in a learning kinda way lol 😂
As this episode started I was thinking a second tail light would look good on that rack
Then u mentioned it ;)
CHARLES BRONSON great minds 😁👍
Cafe Racer Garage indeed
Another skill smashed! Looks awesome. So long upholstery guy.. haha. May attempt to do mine myself, wont look half as good as yours but still gonna give it a bash.
Andy give it a go and you may surprise yourself 😁 thank you for the kind words.
Nicely done Dan, on the next one you could stitch your logo into the D shaped piece ate back of the seat.l think that would look cool.
very good idea ma man :)
If you think that contact adhesive with toluene, it'll spray easier. In cooler temperatures use MEK methyl ethyl keytone. We use that same basic adhesive on airplanes a lot. It's a 3M product called 1300-L. It's great for holding pneumatic deice boots on leading edges of airplanes.

nyc
niiiiice
The size change in the stitch makes it look layered on the video. Hope you see it and I love it. You can open up the sprayer for the glue and more air so it's not sporadic
Jeff P. Yes I know what you mean about layered and thank you for the spray tip :) when I wound out the knob at the back all the way it fell out lol 😂 I’m guessing that means that’s the limit of airflow ?
really nice job. I wish I could make one like that myself for my KZ 750 1982. BTY, what are the tires on this project??
I got a few of those old Singer's, real work horse. I want to do a Honda CT 110 seat if only I can find a pattern.
I think the model Singer is a 201K.
It’s a very good sewing machine : One of the most quiet running machine ever invented !
is that ninja tuna i hear???? awesome
Back to normal ..Brekkie n Dan ..lol.
Absolutely Brill vid this week with a bit of foresight and planning ahead you have shown the simpler designs are possible if you want to try and have the tools. Glad you used a normal sewing machine but a thicker thread, did it fit the needle ok as some needles have small holes..was the cloth backing anything special or just a piece to suit the size required ,
Like the finished rack and the eyelet idea beats using a nut and having to round it off after its definitely coming together . Also that air sander is now earning it's worth are you gonna put it down at some point or just keep inventing uses for it lol..
Great vid as always Dan thanks
Yep, those eyebolts are nice. :-) There are similar ones with a hole-through-ball in it. Often used at the gearshifter mechanism and such. So many things out there! On old Triumph's (and maybe others?) there was a rack on the petroltank. Could be a good looking thing on yours. :-)
John Mård funny you say that as I was thinking the same but unsure at this stage, I may give it some more thought.
Looks shit hot. And not too difficult!
In hindsight ...any issues with the contact cement (or anything else), did it hold up long-term? An absolutely brilliant channel, very inspirational! Very best to you and yours from the US, St. Augustine Florida!
Nice job. Can I ask what make the rear shocks are on this vid?
Hey mate, firstly nice work on the seat, it turned out awesome. You inspired me to buy my own industrial sewing machine and give it a crack but I literally know nothing about sewing haha. Can you give me a little info on the stuff you use? E.g. needle size, thread you used, what sort of sewing machine/model you used and where I can get materials. Cheers mate.
👍from Bavaria 😂😂😂 " Singer 😂😂😂 fantastic " you are an Allrounder 👍"
Heinrich Schaefer haha 😂 I can do a lot but not all. Lol thank you mate
