- Kim Kardashian is famed for her many ventures, and KKW was one of a long string of cosmetics brands helmed by Kim. However, because of the heavy comparisons to Kylie and cannibalised market space, the brand failed, only to be sold to Coty a few years later for a very small amount of money (not the $200 million that many sources cite). However, that deal with Coty is far more than meets the eye after you realise KKW was actually sold for less than 10% of what the media claimed, suggesting quite heavily that the value of the brand had been inflated to protect the Kim Kardashian name from looking like it was the face of yet another failed company

Really enjoyed your analysis! When you did a SWAT analysis I chucked because I haven’t heard that since my uni marketing class! I think the skin care brand would have been more successful if they didn’t try to pretend that they were environmentally conscious. A lower price point would have helped them stay relevant a little longer

I think the announcement of the loyalty program is also done in an effort to convey that the brand and its products are here to stay, unlike KKW beauty. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out with a Goop-esque newsletter/ blog form of lifestyle content and branch out to products under the wellness and beauty tech category because that seems to be the trend in luxury beauty recently.
Thatd be interesting if they do that, but idk if their demographic has the need for that kind of tribe like goop does
Love your videos! I will never buy from one of their brands. I think they would have better lasting power if the products weren’t actually shit and if they stayed more behind the scenes. Skims and good American appear to be succeeding.

The kardashians in particular use so many companies within companies, and its not really to trick us, its to ensure financial stability for the company. Much easier to be a part of something big than stand alone. But really, it makes it so hard to follow and often very confusing

Thank you for your informative videos. I have never bought anything from the Kardashians/Jenners as the quality has been rubbish and not been interested in their show. However, their perseverance, marketing tactics, and people that look up to them has led them continue their business ventures. I believe that Skims is for the long run if they continue to meet the demands of their customers and good quality
To me, it’s wild that all of their products have totally different quality. There’s no guarantee of quality in a Kardashian brand, because they’re also extremely different. Skim is a good example of a brand that’s doing well, but there’s so many others that have failed and it’s interesting to me that because of their celebrity factor, they can still have big splashy launches, despite no one knowing if the product will be good or not

There are more cosmetics than ever and q lot of them with active ingredients (quality) and affordable prices, so why would you by cosmetics from celebrities who have no idea and also have a lot of work done...they dont even use their own skincare
It depends who they have on the team really. Because, realistically what’s the difference between a fashion house, making a cosmetic line and a celebrity making a cosmetic line? Really, there’s no difference between them, it’s a way for them to make more money in a different area. The only differences what team they can afford to put together the product

I feel like SKKN just started. They had a launch and they will probably launch new products. Skims is selling. The beauty brand needs a rebrand. The perfume business probably needs a rebrand. Kim K doesn’t really have a fall since she’s still one of the most popular and well paid reality stars on the planet.
Yes, the fall 100% isnt about Kim as a person. Someone suggested they merge the brands, or link them in some way to bring value and honestly I think thats a great idea, but will be tricky to implement

The shock marketing part is so confusing, these examples have zero to do with Kim’s brands
I was showing different examples of companies that use shock marketing to drive attention and discussion. The reason I used examples from a wide range of areas is to show its wide application
I actually don't think any of the negative reaction is intentional. I do think that it has the effect of promoting conversation, but I think the idea that it's planned promotion is an attempt by those who've tried and failed to effectively damage the Kardashians to distance themselves from the failure by claiming it was the Kardashian's marketing.
You could very much well may be right, I don’t think anyone plans to have such an enormous adverse reaction to product, no one is trying to get cancelled before they get started. But, it’s so curious to me that they were two different companies, if they were one, I would talk it down to marketing, but because it’s two there’s much more going on here than just Begging for attention
They keep doing this over and over. Of course it's intentional because the Kardashians don't get cancelled over offending people from other cultures.

Hi, I'm not being rude, I promise. I work as a plastic surgeon assistant. Do you think that the surgery happens and they leave the office and DONT have to go maintain their skin/surgery? Are you under the impression that women that elect to have surgery are the kind of women that wouldn't still wash their face and moisturize their skin? You think they just don't do any beauty or skincare to maintain the look? I think you need some education on plastic surgery. I would recommend TH-camr Lorry Hill.
@@reenakemp9132 to answer your question: no. I suggest you try re reading my comment where I mentioned cosmetic procedures not plastic surgery alone. You can refer to articles where the family have undergone vampire “blood” facials, micro needling, radio frequency, lasers, light facials etc.
They can just do microneedling and skin peels. Moisturiser and retinol doesnt do what they have

@@underskinYT What is "excessive darkening"?, you're allowed to tan, but not too dark, you're allowed to darken your complexion a little bit, but not too much, who decides when a tan has 'gone too far'. It doesn't hurt anyone if someone darkens their complexion any more than when black people use filters to lighten their complexion. It's such a stretch to call it blackface, that was a very specific thing where people painted their faces as minstrels and performed, now someone can't even dress up as a black person or character of paint their face black for any purpose like a sports event or they are accused of using blackface.
