BRILLIANT first decent E46 tutorial from many others i tried and failed.you did it right by turning on the ignition full cluster of lights .much appreciated NOEL.

If you have a coder you can change this, mines set to 8000kms which is much more practical as it follows your natural oil change interval and then you can just do an inspection each time.
Israel, you are correct. I took a few tries but as soon as it flashes release the button tap it once more and 15000 came up as the new interval. I do change oil every 10000 so will see if I can change that number using a diag computer. Thanks for your suggestion.

If you change your oil less than 15k miles, then there is no point to resetting this anyway.
As long as you know basic arithmetic then it's still very useful since you see the current miles tracked when you start the car.
