You should have checked out the video of this song live... it's absolutely top-notch! P.S. - You wouldn't have had to ask "what is that sound, what is that?" at 7:18, all you needed to do was watch Jordan play the hell out of the keyboard - followed by John's masterful guitar solo, where he crosses over to press down on the whammy bar with his left hand to produce such an eery tone, full of angst and desperation, so fitting for the song's theme (9-11). And then you would have been even more amazed watching Mike's incredible drum fills (and not just listening to them) to end the song with the orchestra on such a bang! In short - take a look at the video of this song here, even if you do so on your own time, which I assure you will be well spent: th-cam.com/video/-884PYAfoiw/w-d-xo.html
I'm shocked you didn't watch the live video along with the music. Next up should be Octavarium, a live performance with video of course (from Score, the same concert this one is.) Liked and subbed for your DT content (and any other in the same genre, there's a LOT more where all of this DT stuff came from, cheers on your new found discovery and new level of music appreciation!) PS, I'd PAY to see you react to the entire Metropolis Part 2 album live video!
This was cool❤❤RED CONGRATS ON 37 K I AM SO PROUD OF YOU AND HONORED TO BE A SUBSCRIBER YOU ROCK❤❤❤YOU ARE LOVED ALOT 💯💯 #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #bestbadjokes #37K
This song was about 911. If you played the video it would be apparent. This was played in New York with an orchestra. The video would have shown all this
Yet more proof that you are a prog girl in your soul. The intensity with which you clearly listen to the music in all its complexity far surpasses how many people listen to music today where a simple 3 minute ring tone seems to be all that they expect or demand. You have so much to discover both from the seventies Prog explosion and from the best Neo prog bands like DT, Porcupine tree, Tool and Rush.
Anything from Score is awesome. Try "The spirit carries on" from Score live. Not from score, but still killer is "At Wit's End" live, or "Home" live, all very different from each other. Remember that lots of Dream Theater songs have complex lyrics and it's easy to miss that James is actually singing different voices, for example "At Wit's End" he's singing both the husband and wifes perspectives, the husband at his wit's end with her and leaving her, the wife pleading "don't leave me now...." leading into one of my all time favorite guitar solos. Super amazing!
Hands down the best one I've heard from them so far. 🔥 Loved it. It's been a mixed bag with them so far for me. I feel like I should really like the band and half of the songs I've heard I've really enjoyed but on the other hand some of them just haven't hit for me for some reason and felt a little bit self indulgent at times. That's not always a bad thing but those particular songs didn't really hit . This one however I absolutely loved. 🔥
Happy to see you enjoy the song! Consider adding Dream Theater on the title of the video, as you did before, for better visibility to DT reaction viewers.
Hard to believe this was a live performance rather than a studio recording. The song is about 9/11 as it was recorded only a few years after the attack and the majority of the band is from the NYC area (only the lead singer isn't). They played the whole second half of the concert with a full orchestra, which included playing two of their best epics (Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and Octavarium) as well as Metropolis Pt1 for the encore. This live album is easily their best live production and it really shows with how great it turned out. If you really want to watch them at their full Symphonic Prog Metal best, you should really check out Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence from this show (audio only: th-cam.com/video/Lo3i8dYvqb4/w-d-xo.html, video: th-cam.com/video/D33QzgK5pPk/w-d-xo.html).
I would say that this is my least favorite song from the "Octavarium" album - but not because I don't like it, but because the whole album is a brilliant masterpiece and I like other songs a little more than this one. :)
Its a masterpiece indeed. However, they have many more songs that are even more «masterpieceier» 🤩

You worded this so perfectly and said exactly what I've been thinking watching her DT videos. Yes!!!
Wished you saw the video of them actually playing, so you can see them shred with the orchestra
Wow. This will be a treat. 😮
This is my favourite band, great reaction. Just sorry there was no video. ❤🤘
Red. You are a lovely lady, and I love your reactions❤️. Hope you are having a great day.
This is a brilliant post-9/11 tune.
I also get goosebumps when I hear this. 1:27
I love this song. The music is very eerie
