It's a shame you were given a link for a compilation video when there are good pro-shot live performances of Catch Me If You Can to be found very easily - even on TH-cam. One from Budokan has all the Kami Band solos as they are played, not dodgy clips of the different guitarists taken from other solos on other songs, or the one from Makuhari Messe has the girls hyping the crowd up for two or three minutes before the song even starts. Yes they were having fun - they were playing hide and seek on stage ... but keeping it metal as they were playing it with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre). The growling voice is the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" with Yui and Moa responding "Maada da yo" (No not yet) and doing the running away from an Oni dance. I'm sure you have been told in the comments on previous videos who is behind it all and how he developed the whole idea for Babymetal around Su, so I won't repeat it all again here.
Many thanks again for your good information from Japan 有難う💛. In return, just FYI (or you maybe alredly know it). The last part of the lyric means "Red shoes, you shouldn't wear. Because they are dangerous." It comes from an old Japanese song written in 1922 "A girl wearing red shoes" being based on a story told soon after the Meiji Restoration when Japan started to open to Western countries. The song is about a foreigner who took a little girl away to his homeland and the girl was allegedly wearing a pair of red shoes. So this song seemed to relate to some crime and the people at that time (more than 100 years ago) were cautious about foreigners as potentially dangerous existence like big red-haired ogres. The true story, however, were turned out to be different. There was a couple and the husband and wife were too poor to take care of their daughter suffering from tuberculosis which was incurable disease at that time in Japan. So the parents trusted the girl to a American missionary and asked him to foster her. The girl's disease was very bad and died before going to the USA. The mother, however, believed that her daughter became healthy and was living in the country across the ocean. In any case the song "A girl wearing red shoes" has sad background. But again BabyMetal with their magic turned the sad feeling into a cheerful mood in a child play, hide and seek. They sometimes change drastically negative thing into positive one. "Gimme Chocolate", which use to have a sad memory for Japanese, is another example. Sorry for lengthy explanation.
@@flugelhornoldman1362 Thank you. Yes I had heard that story, but I had forgotten the finer details. All very sad, but thank you for reminding me again.
@@kevinhiggins7838 Thanks for your response. Right after the World Work II, almost all big cities in Japan were totally destroyed and brought under control by the Occupation Army delegated from USA. There were numerous children on street and they were all hungry. When a jeep came by, they run after the jeep shouting "give me chocolate !" and begged the sweets to American soldiers, because it was the most delicious food they could barely get if the soldiers were kind enough to share. I am 64 years old, born 10 years after WW II ended, so I personally did not have such experience. But the phrase "give me chocolate" has still make many Japanese people recall the miserable situation. Koba, the producer of BABYMETAL, must know what the phrase means. Nevertheless BM's "Gimme Chocolate" has drastically turned the meaning upside down. It's a song about a girl who loves chocolate while she is careful for her weight. No sad or miserable thing at all. Nothing but cheerful, laughable and peaceful situation is there. Some older fan said this song should be a tribute to all of the soldiers died in battlefields and people who suffered during the war and in the postwar period. I agree that this song implies the true end of the W W II and would remove some type of trauma existing deep down in aged Japanese people' mind if they listen to it. I hope this will help you understand. Thanks again
Wow... thanks again. I know there’s the phrase “Don’t think. Feel.” Su apparently said that somewhere but I’d rather think. This certainly provides something to think about. Yes its a hidden gem, cause it got only played/performed once (Legend 1997, Su-Metal 16th B-day). In the last few days I listened this song alot =) The song is cover from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. 'Tamashiii No Rufuran' means Soul's Refrain
I think all my metalcore experience they are the unique amazing metal band!!!! No doubt!!! The voice of suzuka nakamoto just ripped ur soul the band is very talented just energize ur body the feeling is maxing but ingredieble!!!
It is fairly easy to mix songs from different shows with BABYMETAL, those earpieces they have are playing a click track(metronome), some robot will go 3,2,1,3,2,1,... sometimes (usually when SU is holding a long note) and have other cues so they are always in perfect time in every single show. One of the reasons they are so good live.
We know from a capture of Suu's IEM feed for Shanti Shanti Shanti that there are no clicks. She was counted into the song, but that was it. We don't know what the kamiband hears, though. Still right that with the heavy use of a backing track you get that absolute consistency.
@@johnschultz7765 OMG it did change, In an older one I heard there was a lot of robo counting and stuff like that. From a review by a professional musician he could tell the kami band was spot on to a click track, so they probably still use it.
Great reaction, as usual, thanks! This was my very first BABYMETAL song so it's very special to me. And it's still one of my favorites. And, of course, the "Moa slide" is one of the cutest parts of choreo I've ever seen.
If not only the song in it self is badass, knowing that the song is about the girls playing hide-and-seek with an Oni (an man-devouring ogre/troll, from Japanese folklore), makes it even better.
Yeah this is definitely a dope song. You got to see the live in Tokyo version of this. Funny when he called the guitarist a girl. All the band members are dudes except for the three female singers :)
the demon is growling "hey are you ready,,are you ready,,the girls are replying no not yet,,,,the song is about playing hide and seek and tag with a japanese deamon
This song is pretty much about playing hide and seek with a Demon, pretty badass ahah Also the main riff is taken straight up from the song (sic) by Slipknot!
Haha love it boys! I never heard this band before you guys. I'm back again though, check out Queens of the Stone Age, maybe their first album. Regular John or something.. haha or if not, just go to a banger. Song for the dead.
When a channel keeps asking for listener requests for Babymetal songs to react to, that's really cool. But a small part of me feels a little sad. In the decade they have been performing, only 3 albums have been released, so those requests will soon be exhausted. But that feeling mostly dissipates when I remember that ALL of the songs on those 3 albums are worth reacting to. Heck, I listened to the first two albums _exclusively_ for about 5 years. In car, at work, at home. There's a LOT of mileage in those few songs, both figuratively and literally. 😁 And although there are a couple of slightly overlapping 'themes' (like; 'this is a ballad', or ' this is a more rap-based thing') it's definitely the exception to the rule: most are just not going to be what you expect AT ALL based on prior experience of the band. The original game plan was to break some boundaries of 'genre'. Maybe they thought; "Well. This sure seems to be going better than we expected; let's see just how far out we can push this boat..." That they are all stellar-level musicians and performers hasn't held up their success too much, of course. Love the reactions, and the format. Keep 'em coming, and keep safe. 🥰

Thank you for mentioning how the girls are obviously enjoying what they are doing. It's important, because so many people are calling them fake and unauthentic. This alone proves them wrong. Nobody could fake that. I cannot watch a compilation video without a rant, though: Anybody who knows the slightest thing about guitars will notice that the video footage of the guitarist playing the first solo does not match up with the music all. This will confirm the naysayers' beliefs that they are fake. Hence it's a stupid idea. And it just looks wrong.
Bro, the reason it doesn’t match up is because it’s a complication vid of their performances?? Can you please explain your thought process?? I don’t exactly know what you’re complaining about???
@@yandereboyenthusiast8149 Yes, I‘m complaining about it being a compilation. What I‘m seeing is not what I‘m hearing, which I find particularly annoying during close-ups of the guitarist‘s playing. And the second point is that BABYMETAL shows are a visual treat as well. So having the girls jump from stage to stage and from costume to costume every few seconds makes for a incoherent and incomplete experience. Just my personal opinion, if it doesn‘t bother other people, good for them.

This song is the the definition of Kawaii metal :)
Plz react to tamashi no rufuran live sui metal are expost his vocal are fearless in this song
Yes its a hidden gem, cause it got only played/performed once (Legend 1997, Su-Metal 16th B-day). In the last few days I listened this song alot =)
The song is cover from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The hardest music about hide and go seek EVER!!!!!
It was probably already mentioned by another comment, but the freaking human drum machine is known as Hideki Aoyama!
Rest in Peace - Fujioka Mikio
How many metal songs do you know about hide and seek?
It’s amazing.
Or a metal song about time-travelling chewing gum, just because some metal bands accused them of writing 'bubblegum metal' maybe? :)
I'm looking forward to next manday!!
"Akatsuki"?"From dusk till down"??It's my hope...
We just might my friend
first time seeing your channel, great reaction sub and rang the bell!
The growler is asking if they're ready yet, and the girls are responding not ready yet. This is a song about a game of hide and seek.
Great reaction, as usual, thanks!
This was my very first BABYMETAL song so it's very special to me. And it's still one of my favorites. And, of course, the "Moa slide" is one of the cutest parts of choreo I've ever seen.
That first guitarist you paused on was a dude. That was Mikio, RIP :(
Sorry about that...honest mistake
@@Hollywood6IX No biggie, I wasn't mad haha Tragically Mikio is no longer with us.
Should have react to live version at Rising Sun Rock Festival 2016. Multiple mosh pits commanded by Queen Su.
That moment you realize this song is about playing hide and seek with a demon
Pls react Road of Resistance live in Japan and PA PA YA next👏👏👏👏👏
We have done both actually....headbanger is up on our page but youtube blocked ROR but we uploaded it on Patreon channel

METALLICA
IRON MAIDEN
BABYMETAL
the best metal bands of all time
If not only the song in it self is badass, knowing that the song is about the girls playing hide-and-seek with an Oni (an man-devouring ogre/troll, from Japanese folklore), makes it even better.
Yeah this is definitely a dope song. You got to see the live in Tokyo version of this. Funny when he called the guitarist a girl. All the band members are dudes except for the three female singers :)
6:25 can u see Moa's smile shine there :D
These intro makes me hype!!!🤘🤘🤘
They are playing hide and seek with a Japanese ogre..weirdly cool!
the demon is growling "hey are you ready,,are you ready,,the girls are replying no not yet,,,,the song is about playing hide and seek and tag with a japanese deamon
I'm a 60 year old rocker... should I be into this!? That was awesome!
They were babies! I’m not sure how they are now. Must be pretty foxy like Megitsune
This style, definitely a plectrum, usually a thick and hard one for minimum flex movement of the tip. Unless you're Paul Gilbert. lol
This song is pretty much about playing hide and seek with a Demon, pretty badass ahah
Also the main riff is taken straight up from the song (sic) by Slipknot!
Kami is the second band that BabyMetal had during there birth.
For some other Korean metal, check Crossfaith - countdow to hell, live at Polandrock
please react to tough road of resistence from babymetal !!!!!!! is the best song
We did but youtube blocked it...we have it uploaded it on our patreon if you would like to see it. But we agree that was a great song
is called kakurenbo in japanese
Playing hide and seek with a flesh-eating ogre is METAL AF!
"Ojiisan, kochira"... means "uncle, here!"...
Yeah, it is you, uncle...
Haha love it boys! I never heard this band before you guys. I'm back again though, check out Queens of the Stone Age, maybe their first album. Regular John or something.. haha or if not, just go to a banger. Song for the dead.
You should try Tale of Destinies. If you can find Tokyo Dome, that's an awesome cut for BM.
And although there are a couple of slightly overlapping 'themes' (like; 'this is a ballad', or ' this is a more rap-based thing') it's definitely the exception to the rule: most are just not going to be what you expect AT ALL based on prior experience of the band.
The original game plan was to break some boundaries of 'genre'. Maybe they thought; "Well. This sure seems to be going better than we expected; let's see just how far out we can push this boat..."
That they are all stellar-level musicians and performers hasn't held up their success too much, of course.
Love the reactions, and the format. Keep 'em coming, and keep safe. 🥰
When will you react to Road of Resistance live?
React to slayer- raining blood
request to road of resistance
Are ready are ready..no not yet is what they are saying
Its actually a girl playing the guitar. R.I.P Mikio Fujioka❤ Lead guitarist for Baby Metal🥺
She's gotta be nearly 11 years old by now, but if you haven't seen Yoyoka and her drum covers..
Good Times, Bad Times

Growl is Sabaton and the compliation is because of the guitar that passed away and new guitarist
you guys should react to "love bites(so do i)" by halestorm
Listen to "LOVEBITES" song.
Please react to Alter Bridge - Blackbird...Live at Wembley.
Hehehe....try some Slaughter to prevail....best is demolisher. Try to copy that growling! Have fun!
