I’ve carried a small flashlight on my keychain ever since the 1989 Bay Area Earthquake (friends had to evacuate a 10 story building where the emergency lighting failed, but someone had a flashlight!). I used it everyday until it died after 20 years. I replaced it with a similar sized Olight i3E EOS which works on 1 AAA battery. Now I give one to the kids in my life when they get their first driver’s license. Some of them actually had it with them in a power outage.

@@ToriE1073 The one I give out as gifts (& the one I started with is the Olight i3E EOS, which often is on sale for $9 during Prime Days or the Olight freebie during Olight sales. I’ve gotten really long life on that single AAA battery. The one I currently have on my keychain is the Olight i1R 2EOS that is rechargeable with a USB-micro charging cable. In the regular 5 lumens mode will last 6 hours continuously (good enough to get your key in a lock or most uses, but you can twist it further to get a bright 150 lumens for those moments you need more light). At some point I may upgrade if they go to a USB-c port for charging because I’m trying to get down to one or 2 types of charging cables. Right now I’m stuck needing 3+ a USB-A: lightning, micro, & USB-c.

One essential I've begun to carry is a small portable handheld fan.(think you showed this in one of your videos) It has a light also. It's rechargeable, so before any flight, I make sure it's ready. Nice EDC. Very useful kit. I have a small kipling pouch for my kit. Doesn't look military. I keep a tiny flashlight, the same nail clippers you showcased, a few bobby pins, a hair tie, Uncle Bill's tweezers. I used to keep a Leatherman Mica in there, but I switched it out for a pair of folding scissors instead. Lighter and cuts better. Your boxcutter looks interesting, but I'm not sure I'd want to take time on my trip to search for the blades once I land. I'm good between the nail clippers and scissors. :) Thanks for the EDC video. Its always fun to see what others carry.

You mentioned the Olight in response to another comment mentioning the Olight i3E EOS (I keep one of those in my RedOxx toiletry/dopp bag), so I had to search, alas, you still don't mention in this comment which one you carry. LOL. I don;t really need to know since I have almost every Olight. ;-) Since I usually have a regular small flashlight in my pocket, such as the Olight Perun 2 Mini, Baton 4, Arkfeld, etc. I just keep an Olight iMini2 on my keychain. Perfect for instant light to check in a bag, insert a key, or look for that larger flashlight. 50 lumens for an hour; weighing 0.69 oz (19.5 g). The base clips on and the light is held in magnetically. To turn it on, just pull out the light. Works a treat. Also since the base is a strong magnet and the light weighs hardly anything you can stick it to almost anything ferrous--wallboard metal drywall corner beads, screw in a light switch plate, stainless steel cup in the bathroom, tin can, I just tried to see if one could improvise a stand from a P-51, but I was unsucessful. It sticks just fine of course, but serves no useful purpose as the cutting edge does not fold out enough to provide a platform any better than just sitting it there in candle mode. By the way, my P-51 had a paperclip stuck in the hole of the cutting edge hinge to keep it from coming open when it is not being used. And the paperclip itself could be used for something.
I also have another iMini 2 on a Titanium Ball Chain* which I happen to have around my neck now. [*The Ti ball chain is lighter, smoother, non-magnetic, and I never know which stainless ball chain has nickel in it, Since I get contact dermatitis from nickel, it is a good reason. ]

@@johnjohnny6480 totally agree with you on the plastic. The babies cup , that’s really cute and I think it’s a great idea for people who don’t have nickels sensitivities. I keep the Utili-Key by Swiss-Tech on my keyring; it has 6 tools (micro-flat, flat-blade, and phillips screwdrivers; short blade, serrated saw blade, and bottle opener). On a key ring with other keys, it just looks like another key. It could replace your razor knife without needing to remove the blade, and works as a screwdriver on my eyeglasses. Weight is 0.5 oz.

I'm so sorry to hear about the covid. Glad you are better now. I liked it better when everyone had to wear masks! (Praying I don't get any death threats about that comment, I have on faceplant before!) Some great EDC items here in such a small footprint. One thing I did learn from you was to bring one of those little military can openers with me all the time, and it comes in handy. I have that eyeglass screwdriver too, along with a couple of extra glasses screws. I keep it in my double sided case that has my distance glasses on one side (in case I lose a contact or my eyes are too irritated for my lenses) and my sunglasses on the other. My readers are on my keychain :-) BTW, True Utility makes a pen even tinier than the one you have here - I always keep one of those in my purse too.
