I sold my 2.2 because., while I can do most repairs myself, the replacement parts were just becoming so expensive in my country. Even injector sealing washers were a horrendous price.
How much if I may ask?
I am in Canada and had the same issue for my 2015 Mazda 6 NA gasoline.
I had to do a lot of research and got lucky with an authorized parts supplier instead of Amazon junk .
And dealerships are a total rip off. The dealership wanted almost $1500 CAD for a new fuel tank but found a Mazda parts dealer who has the exact tank for $800 CAD .
@@MrNiceGuy94 I have a spare set of the latest injector washers from Mazda if anyone wants them, no use to me now as I sold my Mazda diesel and bout a mazda petrol :)
@@MrNiceGuy94 going off memory it was around $130 NZD for the full set. A vacuum pump was around $780 NZD. I was getting low vacuum messages in scans so possibly signs of deeper (expensive) issues.

These mazda with 2.2L diesel engine are becoming so popular in my country Tanzania (among of the best selling second hand car in my country) probably because it cheap that its counterpart with petrol engine.. but these 2.2 diesel engines seem to be very problematic. Most owners have experienced overheating issues, blown head gasket, bad injectors, dpf & egr issues, turbo failures..still our local mechanics are struggling around to know the main cause of many issues associated with 2.2L diesel engines..some say it is because of plastic coolant bypass, some say clogging of dpf and egr due to frequent short trips (this prohibit regeneration process not to be initiated to burn off unburnt deposits at DPF and egr)...etc
Excellent content as usual mate, what parts needs changing as a minimum when replacing the exhaust camshaft,ie rockers,tappets and lifters ect,thanks in advance
My 2.2 D doing DPF reg way too often , would you be able to fix it or should I just keep driving like that? Not really willing to invest a lot of money as last summer did an engine rebuild.

I own the x-tool D7 it it will do mazdas
the D5s is an entry level scan tool so good for fault code readings and live data checks. My TOP recommendation is the D7 which I use myself 99% of the time, only if I need to code injectors I use Dan's Topdon or my Autel.

If you want a Mazda FGS buy a Petrol lol Mazda Diesels have been garbage for years.
I did. Bought the 2.5 petrol Mazda 3 Skyactiv for my wife after selling the 2.2 diesel. Interestingly the 2.5 also sounds like a diesel too. (high compression).
