    An interesting note is that once the grade is programmed, the operator can essentially laser grade any time they work the field. So if you're doing touch up work before or after a game, or a tournament, you're doing it with laser grading accuracy. Very cool machine.

    That is one sweet machine! I bet that thing would be killer for yard renovations also seeding and all you can work the the ground smooth it out spread the seed and I think you could lightly rake the seed in with that vibraflex. Of course you can do it all with the ventrac also lol.

    Laser grading is great, had a buddy with small motor graders with lasers, he would do large commercial slab leveling and was capable of doing ball fields, but not a efficient as this machine. Very neat seeing this in action.

Our tractor for dragging is broke down, I’ve got one 16” rake, a home made drag (made by myself) and a garden hose that won’t attach to fields water source. I’ve inherited a complete nightmare and I don’t know where to start. On the bright side the girls are AMAZING and appreciate everything I’ve attempted to do with what I have. For fastpitch softball, place a nail centered on the front edge of the 43' rubber. Then using the nail as its center point, strike a 60' arc to establish the correct edge. The arc should be continuous from foul line to foul line. Then establish lines of your choosing from the arc's intersection with each foul line to the side fences. You can refer to diagrams in NFHS and NCAA softball rule books.

    • @steveturilli3009
      @steveturilli3009 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 2.5 is the drop (distance below the benchmark) the 63 is the feet distance from a point. So for slope it is drop or rise divided by distance. But to do it I put the 63 ft into inches 756. So 2.5 div 756 = 0.00330688 times that by 100 to get .33%. Not sure what he is doing with the 8.334. Maybe someone else can explain that.

    That's a nice set up for someone that does this type of work all day every day. For someone that might and I mean might do this once a month max it will sit and rust in between jobs. Another very poor choice of how to use limited capital when there was already several different machines sitting and rusting that could do this well enough when you're talking about teenager baseball. If you ever wanted one of these or a Ventrac or any other very lightly used machine for lawn care etc. you will get your chance soon enough on the county court house steps.
