    Aren't you supposed to compress the forks 4 times before you do the 4 pinch bolts to center the axle?

    Hi Dan, great how to vid on the fork upgrade! Good idea reducing the preload on the front to reduce the headshake, another thing to try is slightly increase the spring preload and compression damping on the rear shock, this should transfer some weight back to the front and help with stability.

    Hey Dan! When I did my front suspension, I went with the .52k springs and they mated perfectly with the upgraded rear shock 7.5 K. Good video on how to do the upgrade.

    Hi Daniel. I have a Dr650 and have watched a lot of your videos. I live about 40mins from you and thought I would see if you would want to use my bike to do some sort of comparison. I have based my mods off your channel and dinos. I have the teknik front setup the same as yours, though the next spring weight up I think. But I only bought a new rear spring for the shock and have left it at that. Let me know if you are interested. Ollie

    Hi Dan , interesting video ! I still have the soggy std springs in , however I have made a spacer to go on top of the original spacer so that's an extra 20mm ,makes an improvement, I'm pretty happy with this as it does not dive as bad when I apply the brakes and it rides ok on the bitumen, off road is good as well . Cheers.

      Cheer Pete. Sounds good glad it is working for you. Are you running the std oil with that or a heavier?

      @@MOTODANS still running the std oil Dan. Just been looking at your lowering video, will be doing that to mine , have done the slide the forks through the clamps thing , not happy with that , will be following your video , fork oil needs changing any way , so why not 😎! Cheers.

      Good choice it's a much safer way to do things than lowering in the clamps 👍

    Did you ever figure out what it was with the shake had my tires changed at a shop and then now it's got a wobble and shake it officially 70 mi an hour don't know what the kilometer rating is beginning to think it's in the forks or the Axel's rotors or something. My tires are rated for 100 and something mph

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have played around with my suspension, swapped tyres and it is still present. That would be similar speed to when mine is happening. At the moment I am thinking it could be my front fender as mine only really happens in strong wind situations. Either actual strong wind or when overtaking a truck. I am going to be replacing my fender at some point to try. Is your wobble there all the time? I would be looking at the tyre or balance of the wheel to start with since it just started after the tyre replacement.

  • @adventureguy4119
    @adventureguy4119 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    couldnt you do this while its on the bike?

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could change the springs and fit the valves in place would be hard to get all the old oil out. Doesn't take long to remove from bike and do this.

    Have you already increased the rear spring rate to heavier ? If not - do that and the wobble might go away. Generally you can just do 1 end

    Hey Dan, I just noticed your math was off. 17mm on the fork cap and 17mm on the emulator… that’s 34mm. You cut the spacers 10mm too long. Maybe that’s why the wobble is happening? The springs are compressed more than it should..?

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  ปีที่แล้ว +2
