      I greatly appreciate this response! I think it validates my overall point though.
      I made the argument that the best Android alternative is Samsung, and that you can’t really mix and match Android/Windows devices - you need to be all-in with the Samsung ecosystem. But my ultimate point - Samsung is not nearly as compatible with the Mac. So if you prefer Mac over PC (as I do) then iPhone will always be better than Android. But if you prefer Windows over Mac, then I do believe Samsung is the best alternative.

      Good points, but some are a little outdated, customisation continues to improve on the iPhone. These days there aren’t a lot of unique phones, every android looks almost the same and every iPhone looks almost the same (generally), but personally I prefer the industrial design of the iPhone, android phones still don’t have the same “feel”.
      iOS has a back gesture since the iPhone X, but nobody seems to know about it 🤣
      Personally I justify the price with the software support, 6+ years for iOS vs 3 years for most androids, that means you can comfortably keep an iPhone twice as long, which potentially saves you money in the long run.
      Currently enjoying my iPhone 11 Pro, and won’t be upgrading until the iPhone 17.

    • @VR_659
      @VR_659 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Abel-Harland there is no arguing that android is leagues ahead of iPhone in customisation. All I need to say is two words: custom launchers. You're right about androids being less unique tho. But I'm pretty sure the pixel 8 gets 7 years of software support. I know that that doesn't speak for all androids and most are still only supported for 3 years, but it's improving and I hope it will continue to do so.

    As a lifelong Android user, some of these features actually sound kind of cool. "Ecosystem" isn't something I usually think about, as I do 99% of my digital tasks from a WIndows laptop, but I can really see how this could be genuinely useful for some people!

    In my experience, using a android is awesome if you like to modify everything, but this modding could result in “incompatibility” with the PC/SmartTV/Cars sometimes. Anyways, when you’re in a STEM major having a little PC in your hand is very handy, even when you have a Mac, sometimes you need to install Linux (Ubuntu) to work. I must to say is very aesthetically pleasing the UI/UX of iOS, I’m using one and is very cute.

    • @nickbradley
      @nickbradley  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, I agree with this too. I do think there’s a best device for everyone depending on their situation. That’s why the Android vs iPhone debate is kind of meaningless, since we all have different needs and priorities.

  • @CyanHerizhXion

    I am currently typing this comment on an iPhone and while I acknowledge all the continuity features you talked about, I never had the occasion to try them because this iPhone is currently my only Apple device. The reason why I don’t think of buying all my tech products at the Apple Store is because while I can almost not think about a single feature the Apple devices have that I think Android does better, I still need my android devices because of how reliable they are when it comes to using third parties softwares and applications. I do a lot of game code editing and creation using these third parties contents and I can’t imagine myself being blocked from these because my device doesn’t allow me to use them.

    I like Apple, but one thing I don’t like is how they are so annoying with 3rd parties. Ex: sideloading, banning fortnite because they don’t make as much money from them, lighting port. I like how the EU has been cracking down on Apple but I feel like they are really stingy. Apple does stuff good, but needs to loosen up a little.

    I have a few things that makes me prefer android over iPhone: 1) Numbers on the main keyboard. 2) Little app logos in the top left corner that say what apps currently have unread notifications. 3) Displays how long until full charge on the lock screen when charging. 4) There's no big dynamic island blocking the screen 24/7. 5) swiping down from the top of the screen displays notifications AND quick settings at the same time. 6) You can have multiple things copy-pasted at the same time. 7) It's easier to access settings in some apps (e.g: Camera settings, keyboard settings). 7) Better app library.

    • @nickbradley
      @nickbradley  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No lie, numbers on the main keyboard is underrated. I've been hoping Apple would at minimum add a similar functionality that the iPad has, where you can drag a key down to access the special character instead.
      Aside from that, I'd say the clipboard history and in-app settings are what I'd like to see iOS copy next 😅

      @nickbradley  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have not used the Samsung ecosystem, however I pretty much end with the point you’re making. Android + Windows don’t play as well with each other as iOS + Mac, unless you buy into a specific company like Samsung (who I think is the best alternative ecosystem). And it all comes down to personal preference. I prefer Mac over Windows, so by extension, iPhone becomes the better option for me. But everyone’s use case is different. So much so, many people today don’t even need a Desktop OS at all. And Samsung has things like DEX that can help alleviate that.
