i think that's what ticks me off the most about creepypastas from the old days. i just feel like they don't want to entertain anyone, but just trick people into believing that it's real. they come off as really, REALLY desperate troll attempts, nowadays.

And perhaps if it's fine, far enough into the future, something that happens long enough from now. They will be viewing stories with no office left, only dead people given credits. Perhaps there will be one pasta right to left, one's still alive, one who can talk about the heyday, indulge the future generations with Tales of how these stories affected millions. And maybe, even all of us readers and listeners nowadays will be dead. Should anyone discover this, they wouldn't have any one who had experienced to turn to, no wise guy that feels that old guy roll that exists in media for some reason - but that role may be long since quote unquote dead. Everyone will get a fresh clean slate, like researching and Egyptian pyramid and finding out that seeds can be fertile even after thousands of years. And he is an interesting thing but it's probably not going to happen. People will read and consume content, and this will bring relevancy, but it shall eventually die out someday. But what if it gets me discovered? And what if it goes through the same steps, the same process, the same thing it went through with us? What if it repeats the cycle, the pastas fading in and out of relevancy. The pastas getting viewed so many years apart. Surely that'd be interesting, not that it could happen within our respective life spans. @SCPmemeedits There's definitely a ton of new writers lol one of my favorite newer stories is the Ghost Tree. While the golden era will always have a special place in my heart, I think a part of you just isn't into creepypastas as you once were. I cannot say the same here. Lol with all horror forms of media, there's more meh ones than great, but I always love when I find fantastic ones.
I am still here in the creepypasta phase in 2023, and it is good to hear this song, bringing back memories! I wasn’t as far into it as others, but I love the creepy stories and the characters made. It’s good to see there is still a good side to the fandom! I learned this song on the piano, and it is amazing!

2023, I'm 22 years old and i still come back to this because A) Its timeless. B) Great Nostalgia. C) Creepypastas made up a big portion of my middle school/high school life. Listening to the stories or the music during study hall and a few classmates looking at me if i jumped from the audio or if i began to hum a tune. Absolutely timeless and great memories.

Ah the old days. Where the fandom wasn't toxic there was art and comics. These legends were feared enough to were some wouldn't say their name, or look at a photo. Where you would stay up all night reading these stories as they capture you with their words. Something to get that back

Well slender man was a deity, or evil spirit, people have died over some of these creepy pastas so to an extent they have some truth and origin to them, this is just ancient truth repackaged to a modern society, even the scriptures talk about some of these humanoid legends that were removed from the Bible.

I just realize, my teenage Hero is litterally Jeffrey Woods, because on that time depression got into me and the only way to calm my heart is reading stories.. and Jeff story somehow very relatable to me (not about the family issues or killed somebody) the bullying he got by someone he even didn't know.

I was 10 years old when creepypastas were among the biggest fashions of the moment, it was nice to go back from school and read or listen to creepypastas of various types (creatures, killers, rituals and so on and so forth) now everything is over and these fundamental parts of my childhood were turned to shit with gacha life and other shit. Thanks to all the creepypasta storytellers, writers etc for the good times and the terror I felt (not to mention that I felt a total jerk when I went to bed and couldn't sleep lol)
We gladly spent our childhood with good things. The children now listens pervert rap songs, makes stupid gacha movies and watches tiktok.

@@cristalat101 Well--there are a surplus of channels that still narrate the scary stories like Nature's temper. If you don't know the guy you should really check out his channel, the stories are wonderfully dark and awesome sounding.

Back then when Creepypasta and especially the fandom were still enjoyable and not toxic! Imo the hardcore fangirls/boys ruined everything about creepypasta! The way they made these killers and monsters become "soft littly baby bois uwu" just...ruined it, honestly! I loved creepypasta! All the way from grade 5 until grade 9 I loved it and its fandom! Now the fandom nearly died out and the only thing that's still alive about it is other people making fun of the fandom because all they've seen are the fangirls/boys that don't actually care for the horror and want to marry jeff or toby or whoever...(don't get me started on the ones that thought of themselfes as psychos!)
It's a pity but these people made it nearly impossible for me to enjoy a good creepypasta...

I agree, but I also think that some of the charectors are built in such a way where it can be hard not to sympathize with some of them, Jeff lost the battle with his inner demons and become something monstrous, toby gave in and let his own insecurities and hatred consume him, controlled by an entity his former self would never have followed, and Ben, just a boy, lost in a tragedy, and forever trapped within his own nightmare, again, these charectors are of course meant to be scary, and they are, but the best creepypastas are the ones that can make you not only shiver with fear, but cry along with them as well

I remeber watching a Creepypasta Video from the German TH-camr Multi and he used this as background music while telling the Tale of Jeff the KIller. It was creepy and amazing and i loved listening to his Voice. He and Cruzix brougth me to love listening to the creepiest stuff it helped me forget about my worries of being all alone in a world of cruelness and codlharted people.. I dont miss those times but i miss the content.

I find myself nowadays gravitated to Creepypastas focusing on the human mind. The Dark Somnium’s narrations, both with their sound design and stories he narrates keeps the Creepypasta child-like wonder/fear in me strong. Still think back to Slenderman, Smile Dog, Jeff the killer, etc though.

Honestly I think our nostalgia makes us gloss over the jarring issues in old school creepypastas. Jeff's story was HUGE and I had been into Creepypasta for a long time before I bothered to read his story. When I finally did, I was super unimpressed. Popularity aside, the actual writing itself is somewhat average at best. His motives make little to know sense and the representation of a mind unhinged with a mental illness wasn't portrayed very well imo. To this day, I'm not sure what made it such a huge hit. My guess would have to just be the effective edited photograph. Clockwork too. Not a good story. Ben was mostly image based and I think it did its job well. For what Slenderman is, he's good, but I think his image has been horribly abused.

Judging by the comments I've seen, I'm not alone...2013 was a golden age for horror, for creepypastas. I remember playing Slender, then reading the stories. Moved on to Jeff, to Jane, Smile.Dog, Eyeless, everyone. If only we can turn back the clocks and return to that age of terror. But for now, let the nostalgia flow and allow our memories to reawaken

As much as I agree with the whole 'missing the old Creepypastas' nostalgia, let's appreciate how much horror authors have stepped up their game since then. I don't know if r/nosleep counts as creepypasta, but it's a goldmine of good stories, if you know where to look. My personal favorite is _Has Anyone Heard of the Left/Right Game?_ .
Yeah... It's hard to take people complaining about "new" creepypastas seriously when 2017 gave us Tales from the Gas Station. A series the same length, style, and quality as _John Dies at the End._
Also Jeff the Killer was a terrible story. Like always. Its objectively badly written man.

@@Dogman_35 oh yeah it's definitely part horror. The beginning All the way to the part where they go into the hole was all freaky. Though the ending got me thinking that the rest of the story before that point wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.

I wasn't too much into Creepypasta, or so...that's what I thought, but when I listened to this song, it just reawakened that love for creepypasta stories that I had so much forgotten long ago.
I forgot how scary Jeff actually was. His color was burned out in a fire, he went nuts and cut his mouth into a smile, then he killed his family. Looking at it realistically, that's horrifying. But looking at it from a story perspective, it's petty bland and immature

I feel like I’m the only one who genuinely got Jeff’s story. All he wanted was a good life, he wanted to be with his brother, that’s where he truly feels at home, yet his parents decide to leave everything they’ve all built for a “normal life”. They try to fit into society and no matter what happened he was always blamed and pushed to a corner because that’s just how it was around that area. It got to the point where they took his only source of comfort. He felt as if no matter where he went it was all bullshit and that nothing would change. And when it came to it, when he was on the hospital bed, needing the comfort of somebody, his mother only cared about his appearance, only about how he would damage their families look. All she could think about was how Jeff would have made them seem weird and out of place in society. That’s when I believe Jeff snapped.
Sounds about right and when he asked his mother after he cut a smile into his face he asked if he was beautiful and she said yes but then she went back to her husband for the shot gun to kill jeff and that's when he knew his mother lied. And that started the whole how he hates liars
