Same is true for interacting with copper doors and trapdoors while holding an axe. Using the door takes precedence over scraping it, unless you crouch.
It's also useful in strongholds. I have seen some players accidentally releasing the eyes of ender instead of putting them in the portal frames. Holding a shield will prevent that

But that’s the way most structures are. They have variability within the structure, added to variability in generation that includes the possibility of two structures overwriting each other. Maybe you had double trial chambers, like sometimes you get double mineshafts or double ancient cities. 🤷♀️
I make it a point to poke through all blank walls in any structure…ceilings and floors, too, before leaving. If a dungeon or mineshaft generates near a stronghold, a wall might generate that hides the end portal frame room. I have never had the problem often reported of a stronghold with no portal frame at all, but I have, very often, only found it after knocking down some walls and floors.
@@StarNanny yeah but it is still very annoying that other structures can overwrite them like that geode it's not a problem with mineshafts but the trial chambers and strongholds that shouldn't happen there

Fun bit of secret about the Vault Block, it is possible to be able open the same Vault Block more than once. This is because the Vault Block has limit on the number of players it remembers and is on what is called a player list. The limit is 128 players on Java Edition, and I believe 20 on Bedrock Edition (?? on that one at the moment). What that means is that if you are the 1st player that opened it and got its loot, and the 129th player opened it... the Vault Block pushes the players up one spot and forgets the 1st player. If the 1st player goes near that Vault Block that Players 2 to 129 opened, that Vault Block will be available to open once again for the 1st player thus repeating the cycle. This memory limit is for each Vault Block. Not gonna lie, the Vault Block is actually REALLY good for servers with large player counts more than single player worlds. Not only is it a way for the players on the server to go out and tackle a challenge, it is also good for those that already opened the Vault Blocks to pretty much sell Trial Keys to players that aren't really up for a challenge but still want good loot. Or you can sell Trial Keys in Prize Boxes for winning mini-games. For me who plays casually on mostly Peaceful, Trial Chambers isn't that amazing so far. Yes, had a bunch of Baby Zombies do this to me, no way to survive that. I enjoyed it being a surprise and difficult, scary as it should be. We need some of this.
I got a skeleton and spider and cave spider trial spawners in my first one, and it was a pretty small trial chamber but that made it easy to go through. I got very unlucky in the loot, barely getting any keys, but I did get an ominous bottle and decided to do that to see the difference, and is definitely more challenging for those in late game gear. Chambers by themselves are good for players in probably enchanted iron or diamond or some mix of that since it’s supposed to be a mid game challenge. Doing the regular trials in fully enchanted netherite might be more challenging if you get a lot of bogged or cave spiders, or even baby zombies, but otherwise it was a breeze. Just want to say even though most of the barrels and chests don’t have much or nothing, some of them have good things. Especially the ones hidden down stairs. The best loot I found from those random chests was a full-health trident. Also, I went in thinking it would be a little challenging but nothing like my struggles with bastions, so I used an ominous bottle. There were 2 baby zombie spawners close enough to ignite. They had fire aspect swords and diamond armor… I was not prepared and bust a totem. After I got my bearings, it was a nice little game for the casual player that I am. I did four more. Finally got my heavy core. Then got another right after. Very random. I think it’s the perfect balance for me.

Apart from the spawner mobs, trial chambers otherwise provide the same conditions as ancient cities - absolutely nothing spawns in them naturally. Unlike for ancient cities, the trial chamber spawn override only applies to the individual pieces, not the entire bounding box, so keep that in mind when you gut one for making a base in it or something.
Also unlike Ancient Cities, being enclosed means you can't end up with random mobs outside the boundary dropping in on you. I did find one with a traditional mob spawner intersecting it, though. Took me a second to figure out why zombies were still spawning despite the trial spawners being on cooldown.

For Father's Day, my wife and kiddo took on a trial chamber with me (our first) and it was awesome!! Lots of good loot and several deaths, but mostly just fun. Our trial map took us to the "entrance", which was more like a tunnel that opened directly into a deep slate wall. We didn't have a room like yours, nor a room with a tree. Still need to go back and do an ominous run and explore a few different ones to see more generation and such. One question for you (or whoever knows), once you buy a map, how do you get more that point to different trial chamber locations?
This is from the Minecraft wiki on how explorer maps work: In Java Edition, each cartographer sells its own unique explorer map that points to a different location than other cartographers. Purchasing another explorer map from the same cartographer results in the same explorer map. In Bedrock Edition, a cartographer sells an explorer map that points to the nearest location regardless of whether it has been explored or previously mapped by another cartographer.
@@Catawg thank you! As a bedrock player, I assume that means I'll just have to travel from village to village and check their maps to see if it's new or the same... interesting that mojang is very much aware of inventory management issues enough that they leave extra chests around. also, good thing that i saw this, i recently started a vanilla world just to try out the chambers myself, and it definitely looks like shulker boxes are required for hoarders like me. i love using copper blocks so i definitely plan to just systematically break down the entire chamber and hollow out everything that isn't spawners and vaults
I love your vids Pixl. You explain things so well. Even small tips like de-oxidizing bulbs to make them brighter. That's a brilliant tip that i didn't even consider.
Great tip scraping the oxidation from the bulbs, I hadn’t thought of that. My first trial chamber I ran through forced me to come to the same conclusion; inventory management is key! I was on a new save so I didn’t have shulker boxes and whatnot so it is a good idea to create a “base” near your entry with some double chests
I started my new world today... Picked a spot. Moved to a different spot a bit down the river because I found a dope spot with a village. Chose the spot that would look the best for my village mine entrance. Dug down right there and randomly found one. Finally, I've gotten lucky in my world. Spider spawner next to it as well. FREAKING FINALLY
Best way to cheese ominous trials is to go through and box in all the spawners 1 block out from their platform and then it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.
Are you planning on having an episode spotlighting the new potions that can be created with Slime Blocks, Breeze Rods and Cobwebs? It really seems to be the part of the update that most people are overlooking.
Trial Chambers are by far the coolest implementation of procedural generation in Minecraft to date. While the variations in other structures help them not all look identical, Trial Chambers turn into interesting and unique mazes.
these are really fun! (dangerous though, i ate my only god apple today during an ominous trial while being swarmed by slimes and strays!) quick tip: get mending armor, preferably diamond or netherite, with max protection on em. (max all the enchantments out if you want, you're never too safe!) and a reminder: *heavy cores only show up in ominous trials and are not a guaranteed drop.*
I wonder if it's a good idea to find a regular trial chamber that you regularly grind near your base for both regular and ominous keys and then using your saved up trial keys and ominous keys for exploring other vaults without needing to deal with the challenge itself.
I think that’s likely to be the best strategy. In fact, I’ve already farmed some keys from this chamber for the next video! Tune in on Wednesday to see more :)
the best thing to do is overprepare! brew potions, get yourself some full diamond or netherite armor with the best enchantments you can get, make a powerful enchanted sword, and have good hand-eye coordination (optional)! i believe in you, and if you're still worried you can always make a copy of your world and try it there :)
I can't wait to see these Chambers in action. Personally, I am burnt out on Minecraft, BUT... Crafters may bring my back for some Redstone fun. Not sure yet!
I can’t wait to find one in my world! I’m debating trying to find one organically via exploration or getting a map from my cartographer villager. Probably the latter cause I’m impatient. Thanks for the guide thru the chamber! 😊
I’ve noticed in many of the rooms with beds, there’s a secrets room behind the bed (marked by a grate as the other secret areas like you mentioned). No loot in them, but a curious little room
Was in the nether for hours looking for a neither fortress, found one, made a portal, spawned in the trial chamber, had no idea what it was but I'm 3000 blocks away from home and my portal is at -14, good stuff lol
Interesting... I've been to about 6 trial chambers so far and I did not come across one with the trip wires yet. So far I have also not come across one with slimes or bogged, but a variety of other mobs. Also for the lights in the chamber I've found that they are all waxed, so scraping them is counter productive since you're then guaranteed that they will all oxidize down fully unless you bring a lot of honeycomb. You can still scrape them while holding a shield but now you need to crouch (since they changed the priority to avoid people accidentally unwaxing their copper). I have not had any luck getting a heavy core. I've done 35 ominous vaults so far and have not gotten one yet. I've gotten 2 tridents, and one Wind Charge I book (out of about 20-30 books). Trying to get Wind Charge III is going to be incredibly challenging.
FYI Do not break the large pots in the Trial Chambers. Activate them to remove items instead. They usually contain quite a large number of items. Then once they are empty, go ahead and break them if you want.
I went through a trial chamber in a new Skyblock world and it was lucrative for someone just starting their world. I got armor and tools and a ton of decorating blocks. I don’t know if I would have found it as fun if I was fully decked out already. I think the best item in here is all the copper and new copper block as well as all the tuff. But the loot itself is okay (if you’re already well advanced into the game). Again I had a lot of fun because I went in with nothing to lose.
Yesterday i searched for this on TH-cam all day , I did find it , and her its its in front of me , thx for the video i really need more information about the trial chamber
They should make breezes spawn in the end. Not only do they fit the end aesthetic, and fit in with the blaze, but they also would be much more formidable next to the void!
I understand the concept of each vault having unique loot for each player, but I do wish there was a way to allow for a vault to reset for a player, either by a super long cooldown (so it encourages exploring other trial chambers instead of camping one) or maybe something to do with higher level ominous trials?
i got trial chamber with my friend in server by going to the cave near the house to take iron we see a different block I don't remember the blocks but that's block was seen in end portal rooms its brick with green stuff on it and we think its end portal room but surprise is we mined it and dig two blocks down and we see the copper block and we mined it also and we fall into trial chamber😅❤🎉
Explored a trial chamber with my girlfriend last week before i watched this video snd like two minutes in ghefes already so many tips we could've used lol 😂
12:23 that’s so interesting, a partly damaged item as chest loot? has that ever been a thing before? I presume all the axes are to indicate you can clean the bulbs to increase light level
@Pixlriffs Since the trial spawners require line of sight, does that mean that u can just surround them in blocks to "deactivate" them, so u can pick and choose what u fight? If so, that'd definitely make it easier to tear down the entire chamber for the copper and tuff blocks.
@@Pixlriffs same. It'll come in especially handy for using the ominous potion, since it lasts over an hour. What u should try to do once u mine out all the aesthetic blocks, is turn the zombie and skeleton spawners into pseudo-farms. Since the spawner just needs line of sight, u can easily set up dogs to scare the skeletons off of trap doors so they could fall into lava pits.
I always thought it was a shame that the vaults can only be used once per player. but I guess it's just like a fancy loot chest so it kinda makes sense.
I went to find my first trial chamber by using a map with my friends this week. We’d even trimmed the world using your video on it, and then we got a map and couldn’t find the trial chamber… turned out there wasn’t one on it. We thought it was weird that it didn’t have a symbol on it but we just rolled with it… 3 hours later we gave up. Tried a village in another direction the next day and immediately got a map with the trial chamber symbol on it 😂 never been so annoyed. Edit: so maybe if the chunk has already been loaded it wouldn’t show the symbol? Either that or we just had really bad luck
The first time i went here, an army of baby zonbies went after me and I almost died. I was in Prot 4 diamond armor. Thankfully i used a Regen 2 potion and 3 golden apples after i broke away. I think those ankle biters should be nerfed by a bit.
I am having fun with this update I have found two small Trail chambers one is inside one of the Snowy Ice mountains Biome so I mined down and found one with an Ancient city with one end cut off (I also found a mineshaft on the other side of the ancient city) found the second room a few blocks up from where I mined up to it. I am not too sure that is a chunk error but I was going to mine the whole area with a beacon with Haste II to find the rest of the Trail chamber.
I only tested it once myself to get precipice which was the last piece of unique loot I needed to collect, but from watching your video I'm fairly confident you can predict the first item that drops from at least the normal vaults by watching the spinning item inside. Definitely something you should test yourself on both types of vaults. Rerunning my local chamber several times obviously also proved to be an excellent source of keys for future chambers. That chamber looks fairly straight forward, but if you go for ominous V, the baby zombie spawners are actually a serious threat and you should definitely set spawn and have blocks on your hotbar. GL on the next one PIX.
My friend and I were really disappointed with the loot when we visited two trials last night. Even with the upgraded keys, we were getting early game loot. There's nothing fun about working through 10 spawner to get 2 keys and the ominous vault gives you iron and emeralds 😢 Something that has been a recurring theme with mojang. Loot needs to either scale with the players experience or we need areas for different levels of experience.

Hopefully someone else finds this useful as well. I should have checked the wiki first, just didn't think it would have all those details ironed out yet...
oh my goodness this comment made my day. its rare to see a parent and their child bond like this, at least for me (havent met anyone irl that plays video games with their kid(s) as a bonding mechanism)
@@riuphane on bedrock edition if you fill out the first explorer map then you can buy a new one to a different trial chamber from the same cartographer. One villager has sold me 6 maps to diffrent chambers so far
Great video as always. I can’t wait to check out a trail chamber now! They seem a little less scary now that I know what to expect! 😊
Man I missed these, glad to see this world again!
interesting that mojang is very much aware of inventory management issues enough that they leave extra chests around. also, good thing that i saw this, i recently started a vanilla world just to try out the chambers myself, and it definitely looks like shulker boxes are required for hoarders like me. i love using copper blocks so i definitely plan to just systematically break down the entire chamber and hollow out everything that isn't spawners and vaults
This might be the coolest structure mojang has ever added. the spawners and vaults are super cool, excited to see what they do with them in the future
Love these tips. I will probably watch this a few more times before I go into the trial chamber I found. Thanks for sharing!
I like your overthourough explaining, that´s one of the reasons why I watch your videos.
Thank you Pix! This was very helpful to watch and hear the explanations = ) Hope you have a good day!
Yes, we’ll cover them in future! They show up in the ominous trials episode
@@Pixlriffs Thanks for the reply!
@@Pixlriffs It also means that Cobwebs are finally renewable!
I have 15 spare keys from my first 2 trail chambers, not many vaults at all
seeing pix uploads is always so exciting, especially now w this huge update
rip the copper king of pixandria you would've loved this update🙏🙏
I found a trial chamber by accident inside a cave near my base, I'm too nuch of a chicken to go in alone though lol
the best thing to do is overprepare! brew potions, get yourself some full diamond or netherite armor with the best enchantments you can get, make a powerful enchanted sword, and have good hand-eye coordination (optional)! i believe in you, and if you're still worried you can always make a copy of your world and try it there :)
If you crouch while trying to scrape a copper bulb with a shield in your offhand it actually prioritizes the scraping
Imagine if jungle temples and desert temples were a little more juiced up like this. Would make exploring alot more fun
I got the heavy core on my first ever ominous vault… I had to double check how rare it is and found that it’s a 2.2% chance.
first video I've caught in under a minute, glad it was here
I can't wait to see these Chambers in action. Personally, I am burnt out on Minecraft, BUT... Crafters may bring my back for some Redstone fun. Not sure yet!
Beautiful video , best commentary + walkthrough thanks
Surprised to see that mineshaft generation near the "door", every test i did for our server, had it buried in deepslate.
No loot in them, but a curious little room
lol a personal study
I have not played in about a year. I noticed i couldn't strip wood with a shield equipped either. Informative content. Thanks.
Hey thanks Pixlriffs, huge help to me. Great video as always.
Deine Videos sind wie Balsam für die Seele! 🌟
Dude, you’re just the best. You’re like the friend I wish I had lol
Thank you for showing 1.21. I'm really sick for past week and had no chance to play it.
These look fun, I can't wait to run into one!
they are super fun! once you find one, make sure you feel overprepared before entering though 👍
FYI
Do not break the large pots in the Trial Chambers. Activate them to remove items instead. They usually contain quite a large number of items. Then once they are empty, go ahead and break them if you want.
as always, great episode! Thank you for sharing
Having a water bucket with you is quite handy if you run into the chamber full of powder snow
The swiftness potion would come in handy fighting Breeze since they’re so fast and you can’t use arrows.
Gotta say, they did really well on the trail chambers
I went through a trial chamber in a new Skyblock world and it was lucrative for someone just starting their world. I got armor and tools and a ton of decorating blocks. I don’t know if I would have found it as fun if I was fully decked out already. I think the best item in here is all the copper and new copper block as well as all the tuff. But the loot itself is okay (if you’re already well advanced into the game). Again I had a lot of fun because I went in with nothing to lose.
Thanks for the run through!
Yesterday i searched for this on TH-cam all day , I did find it , and her its its in front of me , thx for the video i really need more information about the trial chamber
You got lucky with your loot! I didn't get any of the banner patterns or armor trim from the several trial chambers I've played through.
Hey Pix, i think you might have misnumbered this one. I'm fairly certain it's supposed to be episode 96.
You're right! So far there's two episode 95s
They should make breezes spawn in the end. Not only do they fit the end aesthetic, and fit in with the blaze, but they also would be much more formidable next to the void!
I don't think they match the end. Maybe an earth-based variation will though...
I’ve found on easy mode it’s entirely possible to take on the trial in just iron gear :) you just need spares sometimes at a base camp
Explored a trial chamber with my girlfriend last week before i watched this video snd like two minutes in ghefes already so many tips we could've used lol 😂
Hey Pix, if I remember correctly the maps villagers sell you skip the loaded chunks, so should never be a risk of a false positive
I raided a trial chamber but I will do it again because it is really fun and action-packed.
Love it, thank you. I love your voice.
"Take a look at the loot we get from breaking pottery" ...Okay there, Link... :-)
Sands of time in mcc gonna be a whole new level
Great video Pixel I now know how and when to Raid a chamber
Mojang needs to include the Trial Skompass in these bigger chambers so you don't get lost. Dang it!
12:23 that’s so interesting, a partly damaged item as chest loot? has that ever been a thing before? I presume all the axes are to indicate you can clean the bulbs to increase light level
Things like bastions can have damaged iron gear, I think End cities too? It's not common but definitely not new.
god damn how lucky are you i didn't get anything unique out of any of the vaults and you got two music discs and three armor trims????
I mined out a trial chamber, set up lava pits below the spawners, and collect the rewards. Easy.
@Pixlriffs Since the trial spawners require line of sight, does that mean that u can just surround them in blocks to "deactivate" them, so u can pick and choose what u fight? If so, that'd definitely make it easier to tear down the entire chamber for the copper and tuff blocks.
Yep, that’s a strategy I plan to employ in future!
Exciting update for sure!
Wake up babe, new survival guide episode just dropped.
Thanks honey suckle
Omg you're right!
Look forward to doing this. :-)
The first trial chamber I found spawns mostly strays and baby zombies! I died quite a few times lol
i cant wait for you to get a mace this update is so cool
Let's hope end update is next...
I always thought it was a shame that the vaults can only be used once per player. but I guess it's just like a fancy loot chest so it kinda makes sense.
Pixlriffs, amazing content
I did one of these with 2 other friends last night, and the 3 of us had WAY more mobs spawn in
It was a very fun experience, but it took about half of the durability on my diamond gear!
The first time i went here, an army of baby zonbies went after me and I almost died. I was in Prot 4 diamond armor. Thankfully i used a Regen 2 potion and 3 golden apples after i broke away. I think those ankle biters should be nerfed by a bit.
Never realized the shulker boxes clipped into the torches above them like that
lol, I guess my entrance was similar to the vault in 11:00
Was curious if a brewing stand can increase the level of bad omen on the potion you got.
You can pick up the pots with silk touch and still receive the loot inside
The vault does not work that way at all. It's a bog standard loottable, the item is purely visual.
My friend and I were really disappointed with the loot when we visited two trials last night. Even with the upgraded keys, we were getting early game loot. There's nothing fun about working through 10 spawner to get 2 keys and the ominous vault gives you iron and emeralds 😢
Something that has been a recurring theme with mojang. Loot needs to either scale with the players experience or we need areas for different levels of experience.
