*NEW SUBSCRIBER!* Glad I found your channel, you rock fella! I'll be sure to let you know how each of my lasers get on with this technique - cheers ☺ ☺
Gr8 Video!! Thank you for taking the time to share with your audience. Just curious if you used greyscale to engrave or to mark the slate or perhaps a 3D Slice like Lightburn? trying to figure out if the grey image that you created was used as a depth map or height map for the engraving on a 2D level.
Thank you for watching :) The image was just created as a 2d flat image with plenty of variations with blacks, whites and greys to try and get as much detail from the laser and the slate as possible to give it that “faux” 3d effect 👍🏻
Excellent results 👏 might be interesting to try generating the depth mapped images where the laser power is varied across the image to emgrave less or more into the surface of wood to give a 3d effect 🤔
I dont understand there is a step missing no? between the photoshop image and the laser machin, what did you do? Does the machine convert automatically the phosothop image to the correct format read by the machine? Thanks
So the image will be saved out as a standard JPEG and imported into the laser software. As some of the shadows and highlights have already been adjusted so it’s a case of setting your speeds and powers 👍🏻
@EternalAI-v9b this apps are to create mainly vector files. All software I’ve used for my lasers always accept most standard image formats (jpeg, png) The software should load the image and once the max and min powers are set should calculate it automatically 👍🏻
@@MARCAM That's pretty cool, so which software did you use exaclty? Sorry If it its explained in the video. I watched most of the video but skipped few parts.
The dpi on the mouse is super sensitive. I can’t use a standard mouse anymore. There is an option to watch the video slowed down, hopefully that’ll help 👍🏻
I don’t have that sort of power I’m afraid 🤷🏻♂️😜 But I’m all for it! It will never fully replace art/ design but it does help some of us along the way 👍🏻
If you want to get your hands on some larger slate then check these out amzn.to/3xepvXA
Don’t forget to like and subscribe 😊

Amazing!! And definitely do let me know how it works out for you! Would love to see what others can create from it 😊

And that’s a really idea mind! I might have to give it a go on wood and see how the results turn out 👌🏻
thankyou for sharing, can i ask, what post settings are you using on the laser? and I assume you are using lightburn?
Yeah it’s lightburn. Without checking I believe it was 6500mm/min and max power set at maybe 60%.
Is photoshop a free programme or can you recommend a free one to do what you're doing?
Photoshop is not free but there is an exact replica of it that’s free to use in your web browser. It’s called www.photopea.com
@MARCAM many thanks Marc

@@MARCAM oh ok I did not know that the machine accepted JPEG images? That's cool. I thought we needed things like lightburn or inskpace no?

@EternalAI-v9b this would of been using lightburn. Just imported, selected engraving type image, adjusted min and max power and run
Very cool!
Great work!
Awesome 🤩
Can this be used for cnc?
It can be, but not exactly in the way it shows in this video. I’m making another video that will show how to convert it to be used with cnc 👍🏻
@@MARCAM Thanks for the reply. Can't wait to see your process for the cnc.
@Townie001 hopefully be uploaded this weekend 👍🏻
You typed Caved instead of Carved in your prompt. I think that is why you were not getting the results you were looking for.
😅 ah damn! Did I? 😂 I was happy with the results kind. I’ll have to try again and spell it correctly and see if I get better results 👌🏻
tony hawk?
Excellent! 😂 honestly didn’t think anyone would guess that 👌🏻
Julius Ceasar 3D is my guess
Good guess but it’s not 😜
Julius Ceasar
I can see where you’re coming from!! It’s not, but a good guess 😜
It's too hard to watch! Settle that mouse down, please!

AI is garbage!, ban it now before it destroys art forever!
