I believe there is something that can be set up in photoshop but not 100% sure if to do so at the moment. Using different images for this process would probably require different settings each time though.

Selling the mats is the easiest part of the process. In fact, these things sell themselves.

You can preserve it if you spray a clear lacquer over the top of it if it’s going to be kept outside 👍🏻

@suplex3987 with the machine powered off, double check the wiring to the tube. There’s a chance it may of come loose. Be careful to leave the machine off for a little bit before touching the wire to the tube though as the capacitors can hold a lot of charge

@@MARCAM I checked the wire, it was almost off...(yes, I got a little electric shock) and I have soldered it...but still no sign of life...

@suplex3987 I’m going to assume, since it was still sending some sort of charge through the wire to give you a shock, the power supply is still working fine. It could just be the tube has gone. Try removing the wire completely and re-connect and see if it helps. If not I’d assume it is the tube. Could even get a multimeter to test to make sure there is power going to the tube

@user-bq1ke5zn7c ahh right 😂 any laser should be fine. A cheap 5w diode will do the job or any sort of co2 will also work. I was using a k40 myself at the time but now I’d make these with my Aeon Laser Mira 5s

Hopefully it should work with a diode but may need to run a few passes to get a good, dark burn. Be careful too as running slow and at high power can cause the mats to smoke and sometimes even catch fire. Thanks for the heads up for the link too, it’s changed now. Think there was a problem with their .Co.uk domain 👍🏻

As far as I know, diode lasers just can’t cut white acrylic at all, regardless if settings as it just reflects the laser’s wavelength. They can cut darker acrylics such as black but for clear and white you will need a co2 laser.

Sounds like it was quite a bit more involved with the cnc then. Bet it still looked good mind. You can get co2 lasers quite small these days. The k40 is a nice small desktop machine. The newer machine I’m using at the moment, the Mira 5s isn’t too big of a machine either 👍🏻

@openhostwebservices6086 these aeon lasers are really good to be fair. A bit more pricey than a standard co2 laser but definitely worth it with the amount of automation that comes with it. I’ve not had to adjust the mirrors in this machine yet and it’s still cutting so clean and easy.

Not sure what the question is regarding here. You upload your image, it then outputs a line drawing of that image. Which then, you can convert into a vector file to use with such things as 3d printing or laser engraving.

Not seen any of their videos yet but will have to check them out 👍🏻 It’s omtechs brand of metal marking liquid. Does a pretty good job and it’s pretty cheap compared to others

That’s a very good idea! It’s exactly what I did with my coloured slate video. Not sure why I didn’t even think about it with this method 😅👌🏻

The laser used in this video was a 5 watt diode 👍🏻

It’s a fantastic machine to be fair. I’m finding new features on it all the time too! You’re right about the smoke extraction. I have found it to be a bit slow, especially when cutting thicker woods. It’s a big extraction fan mind so might be the 5 metres of hose I’m running from it 😂 This one has a 60w tube installed. It comes as a 40w too but wanted that little extra power 👌🏻

@@MARCAM cool . I have 80W tube and power supply waiting on being fitted. It's 300 mm longer than my 40 though so need to extend the enclosure... one day...

@walesara54 I upgraded my k40 to a true 40w tube. My machine did have a little cut out already for a bigger tube to be installed. Now it just pokes out a couple hundred mil.

That’s a great idea. I’m never that organised unfortunately to have a template like that work 😂 So it’s always a case of marking a new outline every time haha

I have done a little bit with mirrors, but nothing major yet! Will definitely have to look into backlighting one though, for sure 👍🏻
