You are a trip Cliff. "danger sign usually means something cool is ahead.." Laughed my butt off. Love your vids!!! Your certainly have a pioneer spirit!
Great fin ds kido, wish I was your age I would be doing the same, but its not in the cards. Many thank for your hard work on your vedios, I appreciate them very much.
I'm from Mount Joy Pennsylvania and I live in Corpus Christi Texas but anyways down at little chickens Creek a place known as the Cove there is a cave that too many people of and I have been in it when I was a kid it has a small entrance but he gets real big and deep
Just discovered your channel... It's always interesting to see abandoned mines in other parts of the country and how they are to explore. We mostly explore mines in California and Nevada and each area has its own challenges and complications.
Most of our mine exploring is is northern California, which is rewarding in the sense that there are a lot of mines. Ha, however, I think the guys out in Nevada are really spoiled! The dry desert conditions preserve the mines out there superbly and it is rare for them to encounter a flooded mine... It's also easier to see everything in the desert. Out in the forest we sometimes have to be practically standing on top of a mine to find it. We get over to Nevada when we can, but it is a long drive. Thanks for watching my videos!
I've been there nearly a half century ago. You can see ore there in the color of the rock. That's not far at all from where my step family lived. As I recall, there was a lime kiln built into the bank somewhere along the road nearby, and that might explain your chunks of limestone.
There use to be a camp ground there and they had country music singers on weekends. George Jones was there along with Box Car Willie and many others. They had tours in the silver mine back then. It was lighted and pretty cool.
Cool vid WW. It is close to where I live and haven't been there in quite a while. I have found small garnets in some of the small creeks there. Check out the garnets one day. Thanks Much! DaveyJO
Walk past the lake and go up the trail to the right. In a short distance there will be a small trail going down to the left. There is another walled off mine entrance there.
Don't you just hate it when you come across a locked gate like you show at 8:00? Looked like an interesting place. Too bad access was restricted. Nice video!
I was disappointed, but I can understand as well, there is a park right next to this spot and the gate keeps all the kids out. I have mixed feelings about gated off mines and caves - on one hand it keeps out stupid people that will get hurt or just vandalize the place, but on the other hand it keeps out responsible people who just want to safely explore and document these places.
You should come up to Schuylkill county. Got a place to show you... Edit: It could be a two or three episode for you. The same place. Old mines. One has an opening exposed....
Couldn’t someone let you inside for a one -off video of the mine. Someone has a key to that lock. At this point you are the only one recording the history of these forgotten places. I bet you could garner some interest from both private and government owners.

Almost 4 years old but new to me. Thanks for taking me along cliff.
Love this channel. Showing us tons of interesting things about PA.
Thank you for sharing your exploring life with the world. I am partially disabled now but used to hike in Arkansas. It was a blast.
I've been inside that cave as well! It's so neat when you come out covered in silver dust
They certainly sealed that off well. Good explore. Thanks to you too.
Yup, steel plate over it now.

I've been watching your videos for a number of months already, we just don't have the mines here in the East like you guys have out west.

TVR Exploring Thought youd never here
@@TVRExploring Yo TVR,your a badass!!!
Looks like that concrete block wall at 12:26 was an attempt to seal off the mine.

Must've been one hoppin scene! Why would they close such a place!?
The more I watch, the more I am convinced you and I were twins separated at birth! Haha. Thank you for these videos.

Good video dont forget your hard hat and stay safe those old mines can be deadly.

If there is still quartz, wouldn't there still be silver ? Why did they stop mining ?
Definately looks like a lime kiln ..not for smelting ore ..we have them in the UK .
How about checking out the Nickel mines in Lancaster county ? Used to be available to explore.
John Telford SAD PLACE , Bad idea
@@mountainwoman5713 I agree but not that area - just the old mine not where the school was.
Those metal spike things are drill bits for an old hammer drill
I believe those spikes are roof bolts meant to hold the roof in the mines. At least that's what we used in the coal mining industry.
In NM during Pioneer Days the Gold Miners would dig what we call Coyote Holes.😎

@@ispilledmyfuckingmilk5881 18v makita hahaha!!!
I heard they got one ounce of silver per one ton of rock, that's a lot of work for a small amount of silver.

Okay Cliff... I'll do the heights and you can do the mines, caves...
Odd that block wall inside the gate doesn’t go all the way to the ‘ceiling’
I never heard of this place and it’s right near Pequea?
i remember going there as a kid. they use to have country music concerts there in the summer. remember use to have indians camped along the creek
Bring bolt cutters next time :)
I would have them walls. Checked out by the law.
