Tiffany Setting Engagement Ring Review | 1.55 ct Round Brilliant Diamond

  • Today's video is a review of my Tiffany & Co Tiffany Setting Engagement Ring. For starters, this isn’t the first review video I have on this ring; I filmed the first one in March 2016 shortly after my fiancé and I picked out things ring. I figured I’d film an updated review and also discuss how this ring has held up over the past 4 years. This ring is their iconic Tiffany Solitaire ring with a 1.55 ct round cut diamond with a color grade I and VS1 clarity, secured on their raised platinum band. As you may know, the Tiffany Setting is comprised of an elevated diamond secured by 6 equidistant prongs, allowing the optimal amount of light to shine through. Platinum is a highly popular engagement ring setting, as it is 950 parts per 1000 of pure platinum whereas other alternatives such as gold have 750 parts per 1000 of pure gold (speaking for 18k gold).
As many may know, is is not solely about the Carat weight (one of the 4 C's, the others being Clarity, Cut, and Color) as much as it is the cut. Tiffany prides themselves in perfecting the optimal cut to maximize the diamond at hand.
If you go on Tiffany’s website, you can choose what parameters you prefer for your stone such as price, carat, color, clarity, etc. and it will display their inventory. Thus, you can really cater to a particular budget if you adjust those parameters. We did that process in-store at their Pasadena location. All Tiffany rings are set to a standard size 6 and they includes two complimentary ring sizing adjustments.
Of course, all tiffany purchases come with a Lifetime Warranty protecting against those circumstances if your diamond should fall out (not protected against a lost diamond). They recommend visiting a Tiffany location every 6 months to get your ring cleaned, which of course is complimentary as well.
This ring was purchased at the Tiffany & Co on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. We were helped by the lovely sales associate, Iris Huang who was very helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend visiting that store location if you are in the area or in-market for any of their jewelry pieces; their service and selection undoubtedly one of the best. Of course, expect some beyond-generously sized diamonds/sapphires in their inventory to suit the clientele of BH.

Julian Covarrubias Thanks for such a nice reply! I think that’s a great idea for a future video - I’ll work on outlining some ideas. Just curious what most appeals to you about Tiffany? And congrats on your upcoming engagement, that’s such an exciting milestone! :)

@@ChristinaMarie17 Thank you so much! This means a lot to me! I am very excited to reach this milestone! :')
What most appeals to me about Tiffany & Co. is the promise and consistency. Any brand, regardless of industry delivers a promise, a standard and an expectation. I feel Tiffany and Co. does it better than any other jewelry brand on the market. The Tiffany blue color alone is iconic and beautiful, but more so is the level of execution in which they deliver service and presentation. From the initial browsing to the website, up until the initial moment you enter their doors. Even the blue box that was recently upgraded looks gorgeous. There's a special beauty and emotion associated with Tiffany, and although I tried selling myself on other less expensive look alike brands, it leads me back to the thought that, although they look similar, it's still not Tiffany. Tiffany is more than just a ring choice, I look at it as a lifetime service. Whenever I want my future wife to get her rings cleaned, I want them to touch the same qualified hands that sold it to me, not have to look for some third party in hope's that they don't switch the diamond on me or dissapear. Online sales are more affordable, i get it. But the purchase is just one aspect. I want my wife to walk into Tiffany everytime and feel great that when she walks in, she'll be taken care with the same high standard as those who have gone before. And at the price I pay, I can hold them to those standards. I also appreciate the little details, like the diamond serial number matching the serial number on the ring. I love the personalization options available. I love how they give full value upgrade towards your next purchase. I put Tiffany and Co side by side to all my other options, and Tiffany just looks better, sounds better, and has been around longer than anyone else I've compared them to. They must be doing something right. I don't heavily think about the now, like how much it will be. For the one and only love of my life, there can't be a limit. Of course life and its budget takes its course, but they have an array of options. I ultimately think about the later, when we are already married, and my wife wants to service her rings, I want my wife to feel nice that I went that extra mile like I always do to make her happy with what she has. It's about that extra mile, I do it on everything. The point of a relationship is to love one another and grow to be the best person we can be for ourselves and our partner, and it's nice to buy a ring that has been around for a while because they structure and prioritize their clients in such a way that reflects going that extra mile too.
In the end, if I had a choice to choose whatever ring I wanted for my wife and I didn't have to pay a penny, and I could get any carat size, I can only see myself choosing Tiffany and Co, because I feel that the level of Lifetime Services and pride in ownership my wife will feel far surpasses the price I will pay.
Background: I'm not rich, but I am a hard worker. My future wife is not materialistic and is very humble about anything she receives. I'm truly blessed. It's due to this reason why I would love to buy her something beautiful. I only get to propose to the right person once, I want her to have what I feel represents the best. I'm currently in the market looking at an investment of 2 to 3 carats which is around $50,000 to $100,000.
The thing is, I dont have a Tiffany & Co. Ring, and I have never experienced the after purchase. I have only experienced up to the point of walking in and discussing what I like prior to purchase.
      My question is:
Having purchased a Tiffany ring, do you feel they live up to the message they give, or am I just brain washed from the propaganda I see and should ultimately seek alternative options?
Again, Christina, your amazing! I appreciate your time taken to message me back! The biggest obstacle I feel for consumers is not necessarily falling in love with Tiffany & Co, that's too easy

We had a TERRIBLE experience at the Pasadena location. Our SA wasn’t willing to help us look for other ring specs. I was looking for a specific cut range and she basically told him I would not notice. I couldn’t believe it!! For a 1.40ct I expected better service. My fiancé ended up calling the Portland location and they connected me with the best SA. She tried so hard to find a ring I would love and knew this was a big celebration for us.

I think a Tiffany ring is definitely worth the price as they reject so many diamonds and only keep the good ones. Plus you’re also paying for the name, the service, attention to detail, etc. I have compared their rings with alternatives but I just don’t think they are the same... or maybe I’m crazy lol I hope to get proposed with a Tiffany ring one day 💕

  • @ProudKansan08

Great video!! Thanks for the info! And you have a BEAUTIFUL family, and that includes the dogs!! Love your engagement ring, too, btw. My boyfriend was supposed to give me something for Valentine's Day that he said was from Tiffany, but he was so busy with work and family that he didn't have time to pick it up. I wondered what it could be. Didn't think it was an engagement ring too much as we hadn't dated for very long, although we knew right away that we were altar bound, so I looked at the other jewelry and wondered what he might have got me, a bracelet, necklace, earrings, key chain? I still haven't got that present, and last month, I asked him about it, and he said he still hasn't picked it up, so I said, well you might as well tell me what it is since Valentine's Day is long gone and he said no, so I bugged him and he said, no, I'll get it when I'm ready to, which made me think it might be an engagement ring. I told him at one point I love the emerald cut diamond, so, perhaps its one of the emerald cut diamond engagement rings, but, who knows, it might just be a necklace or key chain, LOL!! I've never had anything from Tiffany, so I don't really care what it is because its from Tiffany and its the thought that counts. :D

I think the Tiffany rings run about 2.5 mm. Maybe a little more. I've seen one in person, and they are gorgeous but dainty. I was surprised how dainty and skinny the band was. But it's perfectly proportioned and looks congruent unlike some rings with the skinny, skinny, skinny band and the diamond doesn't look good on the super skinny band. Celebrities are into that style. I don't really like it myself, but the Tiffany width of their solitaires are perfect.

Don’t think it’s worth the price. I’m getting lab cut vs1 D 1.6ct diamond for 6k only on James Allen

True! Maybe I just never dreamt of having a Tiffany ring. Plus it has to be ethically sourced. I heard about JA and went with lab. Can't wait for my upgrade to come!

That's excellent. Everyone has different tastes. Some want real, some want lab created, some want different colored gemstones. I was happy with Helzberg's diamonds when I was in my 20's. I've have about 7 Better than Diamond Asha Simulated Diamond rings since 2004, and I still love them and they still look as beautiful and real as when I bought them. I bought them when I was still married to my late husband. The only shape I didn't buy from them at the time when they had every shape available except Marquis was the round. I wish I did but that's okay, I've got all the different shapes. I don't care if the diamond is real or not, just as long as it doesn't cloudy and get funky like regular CZ does and I don't think I would like C&C moissanite due to its moodiness and snotty coloring it gets in cloudy weather, but, my boyfriend says he insists the stone has to be real. I guess when the time comes, I will see what he got me, and hopefully, he takes me to pick it out. I don't like Halos and everytime we go to Costco and he takes me over to look at rings, he always goes to the Halo rings and I tell him, I don't like those, I prefer solitaires or channel set diamond bands with the diamond on top or side stones, but NOT Halos. I'm looking at James Allen, too, just for fun.

@@monicaguess7758 at tiffany youre paying for the brand name not the quality. Not saying quality’s not good, but you can find the same quality of platinium and diamond sourced from your town jeweler. Costco i mean, dont you wanna buy such a piece somewhere where they can polish it every year, take care of the resizing, check its prongs from time to time, etc? Even the prices are not ok. And the list is endless

Boring. Needs some side diamonds. My ring is like this. 10 years later it bores me although i have a diamond wedding band too . Wish i went for a solitaire with side diamonds or pave setting.
