Yes it is worth it. You purchase investments, not products. The Tiffany name behind the jewelry will always ensure a higher resale value vs that of some standard jewelry one would purchase at some other jewelry store.
I bought my first Tiffany piece for my ex back in high school, my second piece for my mother on Mother’s Day and now looking to purchase a tennis necklace for myself for graduation. Probably only Cartier beats Tiffany jewelry. I can't afford Cartier, but Tiffany has jewelry for nearly any budget. I buy necklaces and bracelets for my girlfriend for birthday, Valentine's and Christmas. I have purchased a necklace and a bracelet for myself. Both the bracelet and the necklace was only about $300.
I think that in Business, it is all about creating value. And Tiffanys does just that. It's not about the physical value of the individual items, but the emotional value. Think of it like this, The Value of a card made by your child will be worth more to you than the most expensive card in the store, if you're a parent. It is all about PERCIEVED Value. And the experience of shopping is half the value of what you bring home. You don't just bring home a ring or a necklace; You bring home a Memory. You bring home a Symbol. And that is without even considering the importance the average person places on brand names and brag-rights. So is it worth it? That depends entirely on what you Values, what your girlfriend Values, and whether or not you can aford it without blowing all your savings on it. (Or worse, go into debt. Credit Cards are every bit as dangerous and sinister as drugs, just in a different way.)
I don't mind luxury brands if they bring luxury quality . i looked at their websites and some of their prices for a sterling ring is stupid when you can get gold much cheaper on other websites which is worth a lot more .

Tiffany actually doesn’t use the highest grade diamonds. Look into what makes an actual ideal cut diamond, there are many cut parameters involved, and the strictest of grading criteria.
