I'm 52 and grew up in the 1980s-90s as a young man. We loved the music but didn't appreciate how special it was at the time. There were so many great bands...we thought it would continue forever. Those were some of the best years of my life. The freedoms we had in Canada at that time, the standard of living and time to enjoy life is something my two boys (teens) will never experience again. Thankfully my oldest enjoys this era of music.

Looked and searched and poured over it until 2019 when I realized I will never know. I will never have a grave to visit. He was vanished. He is only a memory, a voice, a smell, a smile, daddy...only alive within my own mind, memories stored in my brain. And blood running in my veins. He lives! As long as my heart is beating. I wish I wish... it tears me up when I think I'll neve sit down with him for a beer to pick his brain and challenge him and watch him delight in my having grown into a female version of my mom and him blended completely into a new being. You feel the empty gutted feeling and the heart that literally feels like broken glass so much so you find yourself clawing at your chest as if you can take it out and throw it away to end the torture. Then you truly understand and learn to value every life because one death can destroy so many lives, cause so much pain, same pain you and I know. No one life is worth more than any other. Everything animated by God has the right to live. This is what we as society should be zealously protecting and pouring over- THE UNALIENABLE AND ABSOLUTE SOVEREIGN RIGHT TO LIVE! I'm sorry I went on a rant. Just wanted to say I'm also 38, ,my dad also thought me those songs and I'm missing him too. It's pretty wild. I hope you succeed in all your affairs, but more than that I hope that you live a joyful and content existence. I hope you won't ever have to feel loss again. Sending you light and love fellow soul! Why is this band not as famous as other rock bands like Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith and Skid Row? This band had one of the best, if not THE best singer in the whole of rock
Firehouse, Slaughter, Steelheart and a few others were a little late in the game. Bands like Winger,White Lion and Skid Row had a 2 year headstart. Back then Grunge got blamed for killing glam rock but Grunge was shorter lived.
Michael Matijević one of the best voices, if not, the best I have ever heard in my life. His voice is the envy of many, his range of voice and even soprano makes him unique. This period of the 80's and 90's was the best.

Literally can not describe my love for music like this. I wasn't born in the times music like this was made, but all through the years I was growing up my dad played nothing but music like this...the good stuff and if he didn't I don't know what type of music i'd be into right now. Music like this is what you call music, its the kind that tugs at your heart strings and has a real meaning in the lyrics than then crap they make these days.

Not emotionally, nor the lyrics parallels my life - but the way he sings, the way guitar cries along with him, the way the drums synchronize with my heart beat, and the way he says the "girl" in four different painful, tantalizing and heartbreaking pitches - just got me. Michael Matijević one of the best voices, if not, the best I have ever heard in my life. His voice is the envy of many, his range of voice and even soprano makes him unique. This period of the 80's and 90's was the best.
