Thank you for showing me what is just right down the road. I had never heard of the three business' that you highlighted, but I will be checking them out. Starting tomorrow
I first moved to Texas, having never stepped foot here before, 2007. Several years later, I'm taking my son to Houston and I stop in Crockett for the first time. I was in awe, I drove around the oldest downtown area and just marveled at the historic buildings. Later, I now have a good friend, whose grandmother lived in Crockett until she died, back in the 1950's. She was once bitten by a copperhead, back in the 1930's there, she had to recover in the hospital.
Just a little backstory on the Hilltop Kitchen. My Grandmother, Verzonia Music, owned Motor Fuels and Supply Co. right next door. She got tired of having to run home in the afternoons to make a quick lunch. So, she decided to just build a kitchen next door. One thing led to another, and BOOM, Hilltop Kitchen was born. Used to be one of the best places in the county for a good breakfast.
I recently moved to this town. Unfortunately, Rosemary's Hilltop Kitchen has closed. Love that you highlighted Mission Tejas and the Caddo Mounds! Thanks for the Great Video!
I really love watching this I live in Crockett now born and raised. And this was my very first time actually seeing the inside of the moosehead Cafe. I'm 43. I hear that the owner of the moosehead is very sweet but she has not been the mayor for many years. This was amazing thank you for coming to Crockett.
I live on the coast and have been taking motorcycle trips to the Hill Country two to four times a year forever. I’ve been to several State Parks in the HC but only ridden to the park one time but I did not have time to hike. I always wondered what it was like upriver of the Lake. I had no idea the park was that amazing. I really have missed out on a great State Park. 👍👍
My Grandparents and Dad Are Very much part of this Town History My great Grandpaw Was Constable Back In The Day Of Crockett Jewel Tims ,My Cuz Darrell Bobbitt Is Sheriff Me and My Husband Billy and I Anna We got Married in That Mission
They really need to fix those roads in Crockett. All the money they got from 2009 and nothing was done. Not 1 road fixed or tree cut back from power lines. Wind blows and the power goes out 8 hours or more.
If you are exploring the area you have to stop at Larry Bruce Gardens in Kennard after Sunday service. Bring some cash and enjoy a delicious locally, sourced buffet
Just a word of advice, don’t steal a ranchers truck and trailer with his horse in the back. he’s gonna chase you down to the square and get ya. Horse theft is still a “hangable” crime. got to love it
God Bless TEXAS🎉 🙋♀️💖🇨🇱
I’m so happy that Crockett is getting notice! And I was Born n raised in Crockett

The town could be so much bigger and better than what it is now but small minds, greed and apathy keep it small.
When was this filmed? That is not our mayor.
"Fetishism" with the past...
Eh?
