Sure, I just couldn't get it to work when using the SDI connection on the Mavo Edge. I didn't spend ages trying to make it work to be fair and I'm not that familiar with that camera so there's every chance it was just me.
I was about to return mine as the fan whine noise is relally awful, even on low (if your in a studio enviournment) but I'll try to use it at OFF for now. If i use it Outdoors, then the noise wouldn't matter as much.
Hi @PaulJoy, Hi see that you use this monitor on a Kinefinity camera, did you use this monitor to solve the problem of color banding on the original one ? Thanks
Hi, I only had the Kinefinity for a day so didn’t notice any problem with the monitor. I’d love to spend a bit more time with one, they are very nice cameras.
@@PaulJoy one more question: is there a way to turn off the wireless function on a monitor? (when transmission not needed, to get better battery life and to avoid irradiation) Thanks in advance !
Great reviews! does it cross convert among the in\out? If you plug the SDI in, do you get a copy in the HDMI out? OR can it automatically down convert 4k input via HDMI? Does outputing 4K from the camera gets automatically scaled down to 1080p or it gives a black screen?
Good questions. It loops out through the SDI but I’m not sure if it sends a copy out via HDMI. I’m also not sure about the 4K conversion part, I’ll need to try that out and get back to you.
@@PaulJoy yes that's important, because not all cameras have 1080p down conversion at their output. The S1H for instance have an 1080p output option even while shooting in 6k, but the S5ii does not, only outputing 4k via the HDMI, rendering some monitors useless if they dont allow 4k in...
I know the ATOM A5's can only handle up to 1080p on the HDMI inputs but I'm not sure if that's true for the SDI input as well. I don't have an SDI camera here to check it but I will do next time I'm using one.
I mean if I film in 8K30 or 6K24, will it still display anything on the monitor? Or does the monitor only work when camera films at 4K30 and monitor displays HD?
hi there. i have a big issue. when the receiver loses signal, it will at stuck, and the only way I can get the signal back is to restart my transmitter monitor, do u have an easier way?
Sorry Matt, I really need to pick up a tester for that. I haven't noticed it using batteries any quicker than the older version but then backlight brightness will effect it. I'll get a power draw tester and start putting that in my monitor reviews I think.

Awesome review. This is the BEST in-depth and thorough review! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for your in depth review! Does the internal recording imbed timecode from camera?
Good question, I’ll check next time I have chance.
@@PaulJoy haha thanks! Well I have this set now and can tell that camera timecode is not imbedded. Monitor recordings all start with 00:00 🙏🏽🙏🏽
The Timecode mode normally means when the cameras Timecode changes it will start/stop the recording when camera is not using free run

Yeah, it’s a shame they don’t offer the ability to have it run between shots as the monitor knows when it’s recording.

Not that I’m aware of.
But how to scan for the best channel? Do i need to test all the channels one by one ?
Great reviews!

It accepts 8K signal and display in HD or is camera set to 4K30?
Would be nice if there is a comparison between this and Hollyland Mars M1 Enhanced.
No, it can only accept HD.
I mean if I film in 8K30 or 6K24, will it still display anything on the monitor? Or does the monitor only work when camera films at 4K30 and monitor displays HD?
If it receives more than HD it won’t display so the camera needs to send HD via HDMI or SDI even if it is recording higher res.
hi there. i have a big issue. when the receiver loses signal, it will at stuck, and the only way I can get the signal back is to restart my transmitter monitor, do u have an easier way?
I haven’t experienced it getting stuck. The signal does freeze when signal is lost bit I haven’t found the system to be unresponsive.
@@PaulJoy so when the signal freezes, how do u get back the signal? It auto reconnects? For mine i have to restart my transmitter monitor
I've not seen that although I've also not used mine much and I've only had the signal drop out when I was testing the range.
Paul do you know what the powder draw is for the new monitor?

@@PaulJoy thanks Paul! That’d be great to know :)
it works with hollyland cosmo c1?
Not sure, I don’t have that.
can work wireless in mobile app?
Yes, I show that working at 17:40
@@PaulJoyThank you
30 seconds to boot up? Holy cow.
