Video: Ebola patient escapes quarantine, spreads panic in Monrovia (Liberia)

- A patient suspected of suffering from the deadly Ebola virus left quarantine in Monrovia to search for food at a local market. The video shows him being chased and finally being caught by doctors. He is forced back into an ambulance while scared and angry crowds watched on.
One local woman said care for Ebola patients was so inadequate they were not even being fed.
“The patients are hungry, they are starving. No food, no water. The government need to do more,” she said.
More than 1,550 people in four West African countries have died from the virus since the outbreak was first recorded in March.
Liberia has the highest infection rate with around 700 deaths out of 1,327 suspected and confirmed cases.

The people wanting him to be put back in quarantine have absolutely every right to want him off the streets. He shouldn’t be frustrated that people don’t want him roaming around. He should stay in quarantine and try his best, with the help of others, to live. There were many people who survived Ebola with the help of all of the doctors and medical professionals. He should have stayed, and not escaped. Bc now he just probably completely ruined his chance of living, and he could have possibly infected others.
