funny how the us, nato and others sent troops to the places in africa they needed to get into. the sent them to help apparently but are know leaving them there.
That's nothing strange. I lived in the Philippines for 13 or so years and while there, after Typhoon Yolanda (2013), Typhoon Ketsana (2009) and Southern Leyte mudslide (2006), the US along with other countries like the UK, South Korea, Canada, etc sent thousands to tens of thousands of troops for disaster relief operations.
I've even seen US Chinook helicopters in Pampanga and after Typhoon Ketsana, the US apparently deployed Special Forces to the area.
The US and other countries did the same thing in New Zealand after the 2011 Christchurch earthquake and 2005 Indonesia after the Indian Ocean tsunami.
