Being an old guitar player myself I have heard many fantastic guitar players in my time. The guitar players that really stood out for me, and there were a few, were those guitar players who didn't just play but were a force of nature when they played. Pat was certainly in that category. You knew when Pat played that that guitar knew it had been played to within an inch of its life. It's an unaccountable quality that some guys bring to the craft of guitar playing.
When he first showed me Red Card and Downtown Flyers from Streetwalkers (which actually wasn’t too long ago) I actually asked him: “WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!”
A ton of fantastic live albums in the 70's and you have to include "live...go for what you know". This is PT gettin betta...in 2 years he's sporting one hell of a tight band !
Pat Travers has always worked with really good drummers. Tommy Aldridge (went on to Ozzy & Whitesnake among others) Nicko McBrain seen here is with Iron Maiden. More recently Aynsley Dunbar Who’s played with a ton of ‘A List’ artists (Journey, Zappa, Jeff Beck to name a few).
@@kemekoist Interesting! I am not familiar Santo Michael Gennaro, I’ll look him up…wait, wait, wait…(edit) You mean Sandy Gennaro. Yes. He’s been around a long time, also a journeyman that’s played with a bunch of good people over the years!
+ You "Rock" Robin!!! Forget about Ink Blot. His opinion means nothing. I have been following Pat since the late 1970's. A number of Hard Rock & Heavy Metal Players were influenced by Pat Travers. He is a Killer Guitar Player!!
How did that audience sit on their asses like that! I would have been dancing mine off!! Love me some Pat Travers!!❤

@@deaterk How about a New Yorker drummer, Santo Michael Gennaro? I think he had worked with Mr. Travers on some occasions.

Summer '17: "Season of the Shirtless Leather Vest" ✊🏼
whenever i listen to this song, so do all of my neighbors
2;30 Pat slips into a quick ode to Third Stone from the Sun, albiet, sped up and modified a bit.
As good as it gets....
That ending was tight.
I'm only here because I wanted to see what Nicko is like with a band other than maiden.......
watch out for Trust,,french band ...Nicko played for them just prerior to Iron Maiden
Love Nicko with PT
First rate!
Is that "mercy" applause? Should have been a bit more. This was great.
I think Blue Murder really tried to get this PTB sound...the power of 3
What year?
They had it worked out.
sweet home alabama? Niko rules
What guitar effect does he use here? Flanger or phaser?...both?
Met Nicko back in the late 80s.....he didn't have much good to say about Pat.
@schef61 he said he wouldn't piss on him if his hair was on fire......that made me think there might be a tinge of bad blood there....
Sounded personal.....like maybe he had screwed him over at some point.....he didn't elaborate.
nothing wrong with nicko's drumming there ....
Scahoni What's wrong with his drumming normally?
Never understood the appeal of Pat Travers. I find him dull as a brick. Love Nicko though.
you are an idiot
Ink Black so dull? I guess that's why so many great musicians played with him? Yes... you are an idiot.
+Louie Kelley I agree!! Ink Blot is an idiot!! Pat Travers Kicks Ass!!
Louie+Jim AMEN to that
