Have to agree with Jamie the Rowan is something special, I studied Horticulture in Scotland and the Rowan was always one of my favourite trees, last year I found many growing along the Fundy shore here in New Brunswick but nothing as special as that. Thanks for sharing.
I love the way your b roll clips are all purposely composed in a way which would make a great still image Simon. That rowan is something special indeed
The trees at the start look like they are dancing, gorgeous shots. Chat about fungi when you feel like it, it is interesting. There are loads of those seashell white ones in our local wood, they fascinated us when we first came across them, hadn't ever seen them before.
I really enjoyed the mushroom element, I’ve never seen anything like the beef steak mushroom, yes a little weird & freaky 😂! It’s a great extension to learning about your beautiful woodlands😊
Love mushrooms and ferns almost as much as the trees! The bark on that birch tree growing into the oak tree with the beefsteak fungi was gorgeous. What an assortment of patterns, textures and colors including your matching red shirt! Did you notice the 'face' in that Rowan tree with it's long nose pointing upward?! Yes, we call them Mountain Ash where I live as well (Washington State in the US) and now I have a greater appreciation after seeing your images.

The image at 4:30 is beautiful, I love the little Rowan tree! The Rowan tree at 13:20 is so special, would look great with some fog! I think the composition at 14:22 is my favourite so far, it sure is such an interesting tree!

I find them fascinating but difficult to shoot. They always seem to find the darkest, wettest park of the forest to hide. Glad you are going to feature them more often.

You need to photograph those red berries. How often do we see red in woodland photography? The mushrooms also are still woodland. Details on the small scale in the woodland milieu.

What he did was to talk about some of the shots he's taken in the pass. While going over a shot he thought about Simon and how well he composes his shots. From what I can tell, Adam really likes his work and decided to give a shout-out, sort of speak.

I don't think I have heard another photographer on You Tube talk so enthusiastically of one of his peers but I am sorry his name has left my memory(I am sure you know who I am talking about). When you first started showing the Rowan berries and leaves, I thought they sure look like our Mountain Ash trees here in BC. I also want to comment on the bouldery creek that you show at 2:40 ..... that is an image that I would love to have captured.
Another great video Simon. Beautiful images and description of the scientific names of the fungi and the fruit (perfect). I believe that the fruits of Sorbus aucuparia are eaten by birds that disperse the seeds. Congratulations from Brazil.

Like feeling you are being watched or maybe not alone..? I love the woodland too and I can feel a connection while in there but not In a bad way thankfully...🤔. You're filmed carrying your tripod. Does this mean you actually have 2 tripods with you on your roamings? Heavy load, if so. Your videos are always enjoyable.
Beautiful video Simon, but be careful about eating any fungi you might be tempted to try. I ended up in hospital for 3 days after eating what we thought were mushrooms. Very sick does not describe it - we could not even keep water down! 🤢🤢🤮🤮
I wonder how much Simon spends on dog shampoo each month. Fascinating story about the beefsteak fungus. I love shooting them. Actually, all fungi on living things are parasitic. Their mycelia thread throughout the host organism and leach nutrients from it. The "mushroom" is just the fruiting body; the majority of fungal mass is hidden within the host.
The pulsating autofocus of your video camera is quite distracting - how about setting it to manual when doing a piece to camera? Great content otherwise.

Lovely painterly feel to the image with the rowan sapling at the start of the film. I'v tried beefsteak fungus but as the name suggests it tastes nothing like beef! I was quite disappointed. I actually believe that a well composed woodland scene with soft light and shadows is as equally beautiful as a scene with fog. The rowan images were a fine example of this.

The fungus is a very important part of the woodland and as such makes a sensible extension for woodland photography.

I regularly find red deer in my woodland but can't get my camera up quick enough before it's turned tail. And I forget to switch off power saving.

There is a Rowan County in Kentucky. Now I am wondering if the county wasn't named by early Englishman who pioneered the area.
