same with me also XD thought it was a small ship... bu tit turns out to be really massive. This is a common thing for humans to experience this, and this trick is called... the scale of illusion.

Same. It actually didn't take me until a second watchthrough that I realized those first stage engines are from Real Scale Sea Dragon. Once I saw that, everything made sense, including the launch by sea!

I laughed pretty hard seeing the Sea Dragon rise out of the water and then was like "Oh shit it has boosters!", because it surely wasn't big enough already. :P Really awesome design with all that re-usability but that complexity definitely shows why Elon Musk is going with a 2 stage rocket that includes refueling instead of one that gets to Mars in one go but has to recover like 5 different pieces afterwards. xD

Tbh, we ain't gonna live long enough to see this rocket takeoff. To me, at least, this rocket is going to be the car of the future! taking us from our homes on earth to our 6 hour Job at a desk on mars 😂 the rocket is the only fun part of the trip.

reusability has nothing to do with the environment, just cost and mission frequency, the environmental problem will be solved when they develop a cost effective clean fuel

Actually sea dragon design is fueled by RP-1 and LOX. If would be even more massive if it was fueled with Hydrogen. Also RP-1 produces soot and carbon dioxide. Soot causes cancer and lung diseases , CO2 will acidify the ocean. So nothing good at all :(

I doubt anything could get decent thrust in the Venusian atmosphere on the ground. You’d have to have a massive amount of balloons (unless a mod offers truly giant ones) to get the rocket out of the lower atmosphere.
I make my rockets reusable too! I recover the -command module- command capsule!

That lander is my new favourite thing! It's like we are the species with the flying saucers, XD but it's creative on top of that. I love the way it goes together with the transfer stage too.

This is insane. I have tried RO and the learning curve is past vertical. To do this blows my mind a bit.
How much more vertical than the normal KSP learning curve?
@@hydrochloricacid2146 if you go 5 degrees past a perfect launch, you can't do a tli burn with the saturn v, and launches takes 12 min.

I was going to make a silly comment about not reusing the launch abort motor but then you did it, you absolute madman. Great design, cool use of the Sea Dragon concept, a few really clever Apollo style docking maneuvers, and using airbrakes to turn the Martian capsule into a lifting body
