Nice work on the windshield! It looks Pro! Sorry for the headache, but perseverance won the day! You have motivated me to rework my SuperATV flip up windshield on my identical YXZ with my Houser Cage! It’s a little more complicated because I have the light bar fabbed roof. Thanks again!

Thanks! I’m sure there is a way to make it work. That polycarbonate is really easy to cut and drill. I’m sure you’ll figure something out.

I'm thinking of getting the Factory UTV bolt-on intrusion bar. You think if I installed the intrusion bar flipped so it bows inwards that it would clear the dash plastics?

I don’t see how you can flip the factory UTV intrusion bar without a bit of cutting and welding. I would think some modifications would need to be made to clear the hood, at least the ones I have seen online for the yxz. I honestly wouldn’t waste the money on an intrusion bar for a stock cage. I would put it towards an aftermarket cage. The stock yxz cage is really weak, as I’m sure you know, and the weakest point isn’t really the front of the cage it’s more the center of the top of the cage above the riders heads. Aftermarket cages are expensive but medical bills are insane. I know everyone hates to hear from the guys that push for aftermarket cages but I would hate to see you get injured.

I have a 2022 XTR version and debating a windshield, mainly cause people say when you add one dirt collects in front down low and wont blow away to the point gets in the way of vision. Experienced any of that yet? Being in CA have to take in affect the hot summers so maybe a half shield. Great videos, glad found this page!

I don’t have that many issues with dirt collecting down low. I mainly put a windshield on to make the yxz tolerable to ride in 12 degree Michigan winter weather. I take the windshield off in spring through fall. The windshield gets muddy and hard to see out of very easily without a windshield wiper. The worst thing about the windshield in the summer is that the windshield blocks the wind from the hitting the radiator so the engine runs hotter and also the wind going around the windshield creates a vacuum and sucks all the hot air from the rear mounted radiator into the cab. It’s pretty much unbearable. I would suggest a half windshield in the summer. It lets enough air through to stay cool and throws bugs and debris over the cab very well.

My super atv bumper and rock sliders came with holes in the boxes. Everything was fine and packaged well but wasn't impressed.

    So,
Your the only person with the same cage ,year ,make and model yxz as me. I actually have a Brick city Fab cage. But there basically identical cages.
I need a windshield to prevent wind from hitting my 2 yr old eyes. He won’t wear goggles or a full face helmet.
My problem is we ride Southern California where it’s usually 75 to 85 degrees F.
Do you think this windshield would have us sweating and smelling exhaust fumes?
I see Super Atv has a flip up windshield. What your thoughts on that fitting our cages?
    Thanks,

I think for summer riding I would try a half windshield. It actually throws a lot of wind and debris over the machine. You can ride without goggles pretty easily at lower speeds as you would be going with a 2 year old with you. The half windshield works a lot better than I would have thought it would. I don’t have a lot of issues with exhaust fumes getting into the cab but it does hold in some heat and without the wind blowing the radiator heat back you can feel some heat off the radiator especially when the fans kick on. I have a buddy that has the Yamaha flip up windshield with the same cage as me and it works great. He did have to slightly modify it but it looks awesome. I would assume the SuperATV flip up windshield would be similar. As long as you don’t have a light bar at your roof line I know you could make it work. I’m really glad you got an aftermarket cage. Especially with your kid riding with you. Those stock cages are junk.

The widest part at the bottom just below the cage fastener bolts is 52” at the top it is 47.5”

I currently live in the Grand Haven area. I had to pull it up to our cabin in Houghton Lake and then down to Leota for the ride.

You would think a few bucks more into packaging would save them from getting returned damaged parts.
