- Welcome to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Roulette! In this series @MBTYuGiOh and I each spin a wheel featuring every Secret Pack in Master Duel. We then build decks using 20 of only those Secret Packs before playing a Match to determine that episode’s winner. The winner of each episode gets to decide if they want the first or second Secret Pack from the wheel during the next episode, but they must choose before seeing what the second spin lands on! Hey guys! Just wanted to apologize in advance for being jet lagged in today's episode; I honestly was so tired that I barely remember filming this lol

I agree. The spheal definately improved the series as a whole.

The context is that he was literally sleep deprived. If you've ever tried to read something under jet-lag you should probably cut him some slack for this time at the very least.

The time lord synchro is not intended to be used with the archetype, it was an Arc-V manga card that imitates them but the person using it didn’t play any kind of time lord strategy so the card is an awkward one off that relates to literally nothing
Honestly this was closer than I thought who would have guessed that meklords could put up a fight like that.

I think it was more normal summon Metaion return MBT's whole board that was putting up the fight.
He definitely could have maybe played them better or read
Doug straight up would have won if he read his cards but he actually has a good excuse this time so I won't harp on it too much even if I do like meklord.
Yeah no meklord go off especially because they have so much usable room for hand traps they just have so much text that it is hard to fully grasp the power

Timeworn Legacies is a great name for the chronomoly pack if you read it properly, perfect match for their lore/aesthetic
Slept on this series for a while, but mbt's suggestion on the can't read cards series pointed me here and I'm so glad. Been slowly catching up with all the previous eps. As a casual I rly love seeing and learning about all the different cards, ygo has a lot of cool cards

Suggestion for the series basic polymerization should be available in your collection always for one off fusions.
for sure, for packs that resolve around fusions polymerization should be allow to be crafted IF the pack does't have an archtype fusion card.

I feel like the game plan should have been Stall with the Timelords, disturb the rituals with Wisel then one shot with Grannel.
Yes Doug, the angels are minuses by themselves, but Metaion went +1 by bouncing, Kamion went even by shuffling. I think you really underestimated their ability to be annoying for Joseph. And the fact that they are Wabokus on legs.
Oh well, it was fun to watch. A shame there was always the first trap of the Eternal Light « combo », it would have been hilarious to see 5 Timelords stay permanently on field.
He got such nice pulls with Meklord and Timelord... ANd proceeded to play absolutely terribly and not read any of his cards XD.
BLS vs Accesscode would have been pretty cool. Because they're old school and new school versions of a similar idea. A big guy that hits twice and makes things go away.

I never cease to be amazed by how frequently and impressively Doug manages to fail to read his cards.
I was so hyped to see Meklords but you definitely need 3 infinity core to really get you into game. A good fight was put up regardless.

This was an amazing episode, Meklords are one of my favorite archetypes and i actually think they can pop off in a slower environment.
They held their own a lot those games to the point i kinda wanted a rematch lol
Dzeef, another suggestion for a special episode is legacy pack only, with both players can add 5 of any cards they want into their deck

honestly it was funny for a bit, but doug not reading his cards or learning any of his potential combos has just gotten a bit annoying, like cmon man... , like sure mbt pulls good, but even if he didn't he would probably still win every week

I mean, I wish they could/would use solo gate cards that are fitting to the archetypes pulled, so they don't get screwed like has happened.

It really does suck that the Mekklords didn’t get translated very well. They’re combined form is considered a regular monster rather then a union of other cards, which sucks.
The BLS pack is great for farming URs, love the cards in it. Its the real Yugi deck.

Seriously, you should consider playing around URs that you know are in your opponents pack, on average a player would have around 3 URs meaning it's reasonable to expect them to have some of the in-pack URs and you to play around them, but with MBTs pack luck this is elevated to the next level where he on average has like 5 URs, so you should for sure at least think about playing around those URs lol

Doug your pull were not to bad this week but We all know by now that MBT has the God hands wen it comes to MD pack openings, he's also a formidable duelist. What can ya do?! 🤷
I was waiting for soldiers from the storm to get pulled only for them to dump it as unplayable due to the low amount of main deck monsters it has.

If Royals become too oppressive you could just limit the number of times they can be used. Like make it so you can only use them once when they come up in future games.
So the thing is only Empty Machine into Infinite for effect requires no other S/T In the zones. We all know Reading is difficult but you can always Set Infinite machine and Light then activate them

I remember playing Meklords against a friend. They were on bit of a losing streak and began to main deck Machine Down to banish my stuff. Only to realize, Meklords don't care if you banish their stuff as it doesn't set them back whatsoever.
Passing up on Chronomally is really strange
as a possible additional rule, to add some consistency, what if u were allowed to dismantle cards you got from the pack in order to craft more. that way it can help avoid missing the random normals or things like poly for heroes
Crushing feeling wanting a even one copy of a common that just doesn’t want to show sometimes more than an ultra you can’t get.
The BLS “archetype” is such a mess or crazy effects but I still love it must just be nostalgia lol
I was watching during when this stream happened and here’s a fun fact. B4 Dzeeff and MBT started dueling Doug’s Internet went sleepy time for 5-7mins so MBT’s stream was just watching French Yugioh memes. #blessedcontent

Wow, Meklords sure activate a ton of cards to net no advantage at all.
This reminded me of playing Witchcrafters.
It triggers me that Doug doesn't activate Meklord Obbligato. Best card to use to make board presence

Here’s a rule that might work: if you pull 4+ copies of a ur/sr you can dust it and use that dust to craft a card from the set?
As a duel links meklord player, didn't Doug have OTK first game?
Assembly get wisel, summon either of the armys, pop it via assembly pitching the other and summon wisel
Pass with a spell negate
Next turn pitch anything to pop your own wisel (unless it died), 2nd assembly to get trisk which he can summon via banishing the 2 different armys and wisel and otk since he could steal chaos dragon from Joseph's deck (no way of knowing he had it but might as well trisk anyway just in case he jammed any synchro in there he got from outside of the pack)

For awhile I thought the “Doug doesn’t read” was just a meme, but I’ve come to learn that he literally does not fully read MANY CARDS and it completely affects every game he plays. He misplays so much that it should never be shocking that his win/loss ratio is negative. Wtf.
It’s because he’a genuinely stupid.
Meklords can have a little bit of sauce outside of sealed, but they definitely lack MU variety. Literally only good as an OTK deck and synchro counter.

A cool idea could be like a Trump card, maybe representing both MBT and Dzeeff (they choose what it gets to be, possibly 2 cards of the same rarity). If one of them pulls the other's trump card, they get to have like a bonus or get to sabotage the other player (like limiting one of the cards of the pack they opened, disenchant one of the cards the other pulled, ecc.)
Being jet lagged I totally get it. But still I can't not say that was such a sad episode of not reading! Maybe one is the worst XD

I am now totally interested in trying out Meklords and Timelords casually. I understand that they won't be necessarily competitive (probably not even close, given most people's reactions to them), but they didn't seem to do too bad in sealed here. I feel like they have some potential.
Timelords are just a stall+burn deck, they're really strong if you don't have an out to them and very weak if you do
Mekklords are just pretty weak against any deck that isn't exclusively synchro summoning

Personally I think that alongside Royal Rares being saved they should have the ability to save maybe 5 of the whatever you would call the step below a Royal rare as well or at minimum be able to hold on to them until the next episode. Sorta that "ok theses are a bit of a temporary boost to the current deck "

I'd love to see the deck of many things make a guest appearance also maybe a team duel to showcase the new mode if possible.
Just a thought. But it's rather common that you guys might get really lucky with holos. But they're all out of pack. Meaning that you're plain out of luck in terms of your decks.
What if. You were allowed to dismantle extra holos you pull during the episode. To craft holos FROM THE PACK. So no crafting staples like Duster, Raigeki, or any others. But the 1 SR you need to actually play your deck? Sure. But you can only dismantle holos from outside the pack. Or if you get more then 3 of a holo in the pack. Like Doug got more then 3 Fortress in this episode. So he could dismantle the extras.

Add selection packs, but if you roll one, make it be 10 packs along with 10 master packs to balance things out.

Okay Doug, I have an idea to add a little bit more motivation for you to win. If MBT wins 10 times in a row you have to let him post one thing on your Twitter And it has to be pinned so everyone can always see it until you win again. The same goes for if you win 10 games in a row, then you can post on MBT's Twitter anything you want has to be pinned until he wins.

Timelord is something you should have not under estimate and they are pain in the but to get rid of. Cause they can be destroyed by battle and if you had all their trap cards which you did. If you got to true light it keeps them on the field. And there are timelord a that can do damage equal to the opponent attack monster.

Joseph openly admits that Doug is waaaaay better than him at building and playing decks without restrictions, but it’s wild how much Joseph’s knowledge of the entire history of the game turns the tables.

Oh right the reason vorpgate is so terrible is that's it's not actually a Z-one card it's a generic level 10 synchro used in the arc V manga by the villain who also used a weird fusion reminiscent of sacred beasts and a rank 10 version of utopia. Her deck was based around level 10s but honestly the more interesting part is that her main deck monsters are just the behelits from berserk lol

I dunno if this is a good idea or not, but maybe in packs where the core cards are single player only you get to add some of them to your deck? Just so some decks are not completely useless
