    I ran my Bighorns at 6.5psi in the front and 9 in the back for 6yrs flawlessly. They gave me 2700mi of life on dirt, sharp granite rock, and sand. I'm moving to Carnivores so we're hoping for good long life with no failures.

      I’ve had good service from mine. I just crossed over 2100 miles and they’re still in pretty good shape. I do about 30-40% of my riding on asphalt, the rest is dirt, rock, and mud.

    I have dang near the same unit, its a 22 S in the same color, and I'm now on 30's, same trails ive picked up 10mph more with more confidence in the tire and machine, it was like putting bigger shocks on!!! i'm running the Super grip tear drop beadlock 14x7 5+2 Front 4+3 rear, had to run a 1" spacer up front to clear tie rod, really only needed 1/2, but ehh, adjusted the front ride height 1/2 higher than rear. NO CLUTCH ISSUES YET..... 800+ miles with them, and could not be happier the tires are th ITP Ultracross R 30x10x14, added about 60lbs per corner, plays nice in the sand, and even better in the rocks.

      I can’t remember right off whether it’s 5/2 in the rear or 4/3. However I do know the stock front wheels have less of a offset than the rear. Nice machine, and it's tough to beat. The reliability the machine has earned is worth ALOT. I honestly hope your wheel bearings, ball joints and tire-rods hold up. Obviously good driving makes a huge difference but Kawasaki still severely needs to step it up real bad and cut the shit of just enough milking it so bad. Yamaha just set the standard yet again. Compared to what we had before huge ball joints and real wheel bearings, 30" tires stock, very heavy duty CVT tranny, all steel diffs, excellent ground clearance, just all the way around phenomenal machine that just raised the bar is an extremely real way.
    Problem is man they're rmax4 1000 is 24-25,000 I mean WTF. That's the trade off, a living legend like the teryx, or built from day 1 the way we all wished for and pay an ungodly amount......

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question. I definitely would still stay with the same wheels\ tire all the way around for a square setup. That way I can rotate my wheels\ tires and it doesn’t change anything. As far as the 28’s vs 30’s, I almost think I should’ve went with 30’s. I’ve seen a few who have and claim to have no issue pulling them without clutch work. Still hesitant on making that commitment, but I’d say my next set will probably be some the lighter 30’s.

    • @DarkHollow26

      Stock the S model is right around 64” wide, but the front and rear wheel are different offsets. The stock rear wheels I believe are 5/3 and front 4/2 offsets, meaning the front A arms are a couple inches wider overall than the rear. So where I put the same offset wheel all the way around, 4/3 offset. It made the front around 66” wide and the rear was still around 64” wide. So I put the 1” spacers on the rear to make both front and rear around 66” wide.

    A 30x10x14 Carnivore weighs 34 lbs. Stock Bighorn 2's 27x11x14's weigh 28 lbs. The 27x9x14 Bighorns weigh 23 lbs. 4 Carnivores total 136 lbs. 4 Stock Bighorns 2's total 102 lbs. That's 34 extra lbs if mounted on stock Teryx wheels. Split that between 4 tires average 8.5 lbs extra weight per tire over stock. Not enough to tell a noticeable difference in my opinion even on a Teryx. I will trade 34 extra lbs for the added ground clearance any day. All weights come from Dennis Kirks Inc website.

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those weights probably are correct, however you can see the difference in the weight in this setup vs stock. May be less of a difference if you stay with the stock wheel. The stock wheel\ tire setup weigh 147.6 lbs vs 192 lbs with the 28” tire\ wheel setup. The 30’s will look better and I’m sure I’ll wind up with them, but that’ll probably be closer to when the warranty expires and I put a clutch in it. Ground clearance on it is already about 14” with over 2” in downward adjustment on the shock left so I’m happy with that.

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically the front A arms on all the Teryx’s are 2” wider than the rear. So stock wheels on front and back are different offsets. The front are 5/2 offset and rear 4/3, so it’s square with stock wheels. Where I put the same 4/3 offset wheel all the way around. Without the spacers in the rear, it would’ve been 2” narrower in the rear vs the front.

      Yes, they seem to do real well. Still under 100 miles but the rides I’ve been on it’s done good

    Can you give me the wheel/tire set up description? Bout to order the same exact setup. Lol. Just bought the red S model today! You think 29’s would be ok or too heavy without clutch work??

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re 28x10x14 on a Tusk Uinta Beadlock wheel. I don’t have any clutch work and mine pulls them fine. I’m still in the break in phase on the Teryx, about 50 miles in. So I’ve not pushed it to get a top speed or anything but it don’t seem to be in a bind. I ordered from www.rockymountainatvmc.com/.

      Awesome man! Thank you so much!! Sorry I’m mimicking your setup, but it looks too good to pass up! Lol.

      No problem, hope you like them as good as I do. I looked for 29’s but most were the same weight or close to the 30” carnivores, I just figured I’d go with 28’s till my warranty is out and I get clutch work.

      @@DarkHollow26 did you go with the 14x7 (4.0+3.0) front and rear??

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep all the way around. So the rear will need 1” spacers, I bought Super ATV 1” spacers. There’s several different brands people recommended to me. Also if you order from www.rockymountainatvmc.com, you have to buy lug nuts separate. The tire will be mounted on the wheel and all but lug nuts aren’t included.

    I have a 2017 teryx 2 Le. Put these tires on stock rims and the front tires rub when turning. Do you have a lift or does the aftermarket rims make so there is no rubbing?
    I have a 2” lift on order. Thinking of ordering the rims as well.

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine is stock but it is the S model, so I didn’t need spacers to keep them from rubbing. From what I understand on a LE model, I believe you will need a lift and spacers to keep them from rubbing.

      @@DarkHollow26 I saw one of your other videos. I didn’t realize the S had different suspension. I ordered a lift and if that doesn’t work I think I’m going to order A Arms for front and back. Thanks for responding.

      You’re welcome. I have a friend who has a LE with the Super ATV high arched a arms, he has 30” Carnivores on them and they look great

    Hey I’m curious do you still have and if so would you consider selling the factory wheels/tires that came on your teryx? I have been looking for a set of oem wheels that style for my 2015 teryx 4. If so please let me know. I would be very interested in them. Thanks

    • @DarkHollow26
      @DarkHollow26  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had initially planned on selling them as I was in the process of buying. After speaking with the dealer, I believe I’ll hang onto them for awhile. He said he’d known warranty work to be turned down if they came back with larger tires on them.
