      You should try to get your hands on the Ghibli Base, S, or SQ4 with the 3.0 litre V6 twin-turbo engine! You will love it so much more!

    I was on the edge as to whether to buy another BMW 5 series or going for the Ghibli but your review convinced me to go Maserati this time around. Like you said, the BMW or the Mercedes E series are the predictable choices for a midsize luxury sedan, but this car is just beautiful to look at and it not only makes you feel special, it makes others happy when looking at it. Thanks for the review! I even had to google RO to see where you were filming from, the country landscapes looked beautiful!

    Again, great review! As a Ghibli drive I think you did it justice. Maybe you can get your hands on a Ghibli SQ4 (6 cylinder 430hp awd) or even a Ghibli Trofeo (8 cylinder 580hp rwd!) for a future testdrive!

      @@lolkevandewitte1713 Thanks again! I drove a diesel Ghibli briefly a few years back, but I didn’t have it for long enough to do a review. I would absolutely LOVE to get a chance to try the Trofeo. Maybe when the channel grows and I start driving more viewers’ cars :)

    Under Mike Manley's leadership of FCA they gave the mild-hybrid upgrade from Alfa to Maserati, as well as the development of the Nettuno engine for its MC20 and GranTurismo, which is an evolution of the engine in the Giulia (basically a variant of the F154 engine from Ferrari).
    We Giulia owners would LOVE an extra 50bhp boost from the mild-hybrid system with that brilliant Giorgio platform.

      The Giulia is such a good car to drive, I hope I get to try the Quadrifoglio someday :D This Ghibli is fun to drive and definitely rewards the enthusiast, but not in the same way as the Giulia. The 2-liter engine in the Ghibli "hybrid" is fine, but you do miss a six-cylinder under the hood.

    Congrats for the review, watching it until the end was a really nice experience, wish you could only have focused more on the exhaust note in various driving modes and how is the noice perception in fly-byes or even in idle modes:-). You touched these points, just saying it would've been great having more of them. All the best✌

      Honestly, I had an entire part of the video planned dedicated to the exhaust sound in the two driving modes. However, for some reason, the microphone I used to record the sound didn’t record anything...

    Nicely done mate. I'm getting a Ghibli Hybrid for a week to do a review on so am really looking forward to driving my first ever Maserati as well.

    Im not The biggest Hybrid Fan to be Honest. I think i will Stick with a Ghibli Diesel as they probably live longer

      It's not really a hybrid. It's just a regular gas car with a different kind of alternator/starter that also gives you a bit of an acceleration boost. It's fun TBH. I'd love to try a Ghibli diesel, though. I bet it's awesome (I love diesels).

    My question is... Would have the possibility to make aftermarket the mild hybrid on a Giulia Veloce?

      I don't think you could, at least not easily. I presume you have the pre-facelift Giulia, because after the facelift it was made a mild hybrid.
      I will do some research to see if anyone has actually done this. You would need the new starter-generator in place of the traditional one and I imagine that some software modifications would be required too.

    Wonderful in-depth review. Have been looking at the Levante hybrid. But I am a bit worried about the 4 cylinder engine’s performance in an even heavier car.

      I had no problem with the engine’s performance or even how it sounds, in spite of being only a 4 cyl. The only strangeness was that lag that I mentioned and I found no way of eliminating that. Once the turbo spools up, the car feels quite powerful, though. It’s not scary fast, but it’s quick enough for most drivers, I think. The Levante (which I have not driven) will be a bit slower.

    Are particle traps forcibly installed in new cars sold in Europe?

      Yep, in order for them to comply with Euro 6d emissions standards that went into effect from January 2021.

      @@takumifujiwara4341 Yes, there’s plenty of turbo lag and delay between pushing the gas pedal and the engine responding. I mention in the video that this is an issue...

    I willing to bet the turbo "lag" is ECU related.
    I've seen tuned (v6) ghiblis making peak torque at 2500 RPM's on the dyno after an aggressive tune.

      It felt like they were trying to make the power delivery extra smooth but at the expense of throttle response. I too thought at the time that it was software-related.

      Nope, I don’t think so. Only the Levante has this feature, as far as I am aware.
