Parent of a MS2. I love watching your channel to understand how to support my daughter. This week was her first official week studying for Step 1. I still remember when you began medical school and moving in to your apartment. You have come a long way and you should be SUPER proud of yourself for all the hard work. I remember following you when you started med school, i think i was at the beginning of high school when i really wanted to go to med school and become a doctor myself and your videos definitely inspired me along with some other med student TH-camrs. Fast forward 4 years and i am a college student who is set on going to PA school instead and becoming a PA. Once I learned about the profession, it seemed to fit a lot more with what I’d want to do, but the whole reason I got into medicine in the first place was because of you and other TH-camrs who were going through medical school and sharing your passion. I’m really happy for you and I wish you a lot of luck with residencies, I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I started following your journey :)
Love the video and the transparancy. I can relate so much as I too am (1) sitting at 7 categorical Interviews for Gen Surg (and the dealing with the struggles of comparison with peers) and (2) finally getting back in the gym and enjoying being more healthy. Wishing you the best with The Match!

Just finished the video and per usual, I immensely enjoyed your “ramble fest” lol.
Just as you said you have a passion for the course you’re soft launching and you are enjoying seeing it come to fruition; I see the passion you have for medicine and anesthesia. You may not be able to see it now, but I’m going to speak it into existence that Match Day will go as you want it to and you will see all of your hard work come to fruition on May 3rd.

Also applying this year and I agree about the signals and how hard it is to navigate. For my school the average number of interview invites for anesthesia this year is 8.8 (we do surveys every 2 weeks) So I don’t think you’re far off! Keep pushing

I started nursing school when you started medical school, and found myself super interested in the comparisons between them. And now a year out, working as a ICU Nurse, i wanna head back to grad school and become a CRNA. So anesthesia is where its at! Its been cool seeing your journey, and I hope you have a great match! The stress involved with becoming a doctor in the USA seems insane! 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school, and then 5-7 years of residency 🙀. I don’t get why the pipeline is so long compared to other countries. In the UK and India you can start medical school after high school and then go to residency. Not sure why they make it longer and make you go into more debt here in the states 🤔😩. But Gratz to you man way to stick it out. Super impressive!
To be fair, we also do have one of the best medical systems in the world. I think it all checks out.
Because the want to make the individual a "well-rounded individual." School is a business and it's all to make money.
The signal system seems like it isn't helpful. Its like why would schools contact you if you are silver even though you wish you could mark it as gold,.
Exactly. I’ve even had programs ask me why I specifically gave them a silver or gold signal. I’d rather give them all gold signals but we are forced to give 10 silver ones 🥲

GABBY CARMONA is a LAZY manager that does not put enough effort in her job! she is very RACIST towards BLACK PEOPLE. she consistently has a NASTY attitude towards her staff members. The old owner would give her SPECIAL PRIVILEGES such has clocking in late and using her PHONE on the clock.
There was a time that GABBY CARMONA waS about to be fired because the whole staff agreed on what i said. "Jenny Gonzales and
ADAM MARTINEZ was our old managers that experienced these issues about GABBY CARMONA. Jenny Cid and Jacqueline Quezada and Alexandra Cruz are the three managers that were to afraid to say anything about this issue.
Personally it was not a pleasure meeting her or her TWO CHILDREN. GABBY CARMONA made me feel uncomfortable. She would talk about getting her Breast Done and Getting her TUBES TIDE.
