That F150 had goddamn street tires on 20's 🤦♂️ no wonder he didn't make it up the hill. I've got 35" KO2's and a rear locker on my XLT sport and I've yet to get stuck (knock on wood) no jinx
I think my JL sport air down on 35s would walk up that hill NP. ...And I think the tundra and Tacoma could have had a easier time with the tires aired down too. 100%
I remember my first time off-roading. Solid video but not apples to apples comparison 😂 Open diffs and a snorkel, street tires on the F-150 and just no throttle. Come on fellas!
I have stock Goodyear Wranglers and they’ve done very well on some muddy and rocky trails. And also on the beach. I think too many people don’t know why airing down is so important for off road driving. I can ride my Onewheel on almost any trail IF I air down. At full pressure, I just get stuck.
I find myself yelling at the video a lot on this channel. These guys seem scared of the throttle. And I don’t think I saw ATRAC kick in once on any of the Toyotas. 4Lo plus a bit of wheel spin for it to kick in, and you’ll go up just about anything.
In all fairness the f150 in the start of the video has street tires on it with wet n slippery rocks and sand and debris! Otherwise I believe that he would have gone right up with no problems
A little bit of momentum goes along way. Y’all can’t expect to butt up against some wet rocks and think those trucks are gonna crawl up it at 40 psi in them tires. Bump that shit and bounce over it
This wasn't truck vs truck, this was tires/technique vs tires/technique. A Ford Maverick with the right suspension/tire combo could make it up that hill so the trucks themselves are largely irrelevant.
The modified Toyota trucks had a difficult time going up, how the hell do u expect a stock f150 to perform as well? Especially with those 20" rims and skinny ass highway tires
Momentum is great and it’s a great way to break stuff; however sometimes a necessary risk depending on the situation. These trucks clearly have open differentials and very mild tires.
Seriously?? Take stock vehicles, give them all the same off road tires, and do an actual, realistic, side x side comparison!!! Good lord, this is a useless review video…its common sense guys!
The only thing stopping the Ford from making up that hill was it was on street tires. Even a basic 4x4 can handle that hill with proper traction. Every truck has it limitations but there was nothing extreme about that hill. Just a lot of loose dirt and stones. Just need good tires. The Tacoma’s had ok tires but lacked in driver ability. I’ve seen Tacoma’s and Ford’s take on a lot worse and fair better.

You’re right
Those Tires won’t help
As well don’t having locking diff and low 4x4 don’t help
What kind of locker?
@@fernandobriseno8164 my XLT with the coyote has a stocker locker in the rear.
road tires and no experience are a pretty rough combo
Surprised that Raptor style grill didn’t get the F150 up that hill.
I’ve got a 2011 f150 that I put a set of duratracs on, huge difference then the stock wranglers
I think my JL sport air down on 35s would walk up that hill NP.

What's with the off-roading on street tires?
I was wondering the same thing, we always put some offroad tires on our trucks here in Tennessee
Maybe a casual rider who don’t have money to buy new tires and just riding with what he got
I have stock Goodyear Wranglers and they’ve done very well on some muddy and rocky trails. And also on the beach.

Tundy could have aired down more especially with those method beadgrips

i think most people who have toyota trucks do not understand this , i wish toyota explained it but that might be a competition secret.
Too much air in the tires.
tires make all the difference, airing down would help
I don’t care what anyone says, this looks like so much fun and one day I am going to do it ❤❤❤
then buy a 4runner!, They can take abuse.
Idk who was driving that f150 but I hope they find out the gas is on the right. Needs more skinny pedal
Haha the worst drivers I’ve seen off road. Air down, use 4-Lo and lock your rear diff. This would have been a cake walk!
In all fairness the f150 in the start of the video has street tires on it with wet n slippery rocks and sand and debris! Otherwise I believe that he would have gone right up with no problems
Would you happen to know what kind of grill is on the tundra? I like it
The spotter is awesome. MVP of this bunch
😂
If any one of these trucks would air down the tires they would all make it up easily even without lockers. You can tell they are noobs.
Putting things into perspective! Did they sit down?
Taco driver can NOT drive at all, weak skills.
Tacoma needs MOMENTUM he pauses every time he hits an steeper incline. Also, air down?
Tundra trd off road
Good grief Ford driver. You kept going right back in that damn rut you dug the first time. Get out and let me drive it up!
Also did that defender try this?
Defender didn't have steps or sliders to protect the sides. We had him sit out until he has them installed.

Tundras always beat tacomas hands down offroad because the weight will help the traction. It's simple physics

Fellas, airdown….. I know that my ZR2 would have gone easily up that hill…..
That Tacoma would’ve too… guy just doesn’t know how to drive, those light trucks work best with momentum
This is a battle of locker vs no locker.
Why are you doing this test with street tires?
This hill is extremely hard when its muddy. With street tires we didn't expect him to make it but he wanted to give it a try.
Tires were pretty much the only deciding factor here…..
Did anyone feel like airing down 😆
The modified Toyota trucks had a difficult time going up, how the hell do u expect a stock f150 to perform as well? Especially with those 20" rims and skinny ass highway tires
1st time offroaders ? Lol
Did any of these guys even air down
the first truck with street tires are not meant for off-roading .
Do none of them know about this thing called momentum, you have to keep your vehicle in motion and evenly accelerate with momentum
Momentum is great and it’s a great way to break stuff; however sometimes a necessary risk depending on the situation. These trucks clearly have open differentials and very mild tires.
Yeah that was some pretty bad line selection... all of them could have made it
Oh c'mon. Just drop.your pressure to 20 psi with a decent set of off road tires.
The spotters are horrible I think they could've all made it
really there were spotters there did not seem like it :)
@@gfinnstrom lol yep that's what I thought too
Spotters were not the problem.
Cant blame the truck on this one.
Barely got any footage of the 3rd gen Tacoma . Maybe next time.
Send in the Subaru if you want to get the job done right ✅️.
Air down & front and rear lockers
Seriously?? Take stock vehicles, give them all the same off road tires, and do an actual, realistic, side x side comparison!!!
Good lord, this is a useless review video…its common sense guys!
My 71 f100 makes that in 2wd😅
moral of the story: get big tires
my FJ-62 eats this stuff up!
I got a mountian bike with some gnarly tires that couldve beat all of these trucks with crap tires and a scared throttle
Why is no one guiding these dudes from the front??
Turtle 🐢 Gang
those are big rocks and they have the tires at highway pressure lol and stopped at one of the biggest rocks on the trail. Bad driving
Those rocks like that are a bitch. I’ve been on a few hills here in CO.
No one aired down 🤦
Tundra 💪
La tacoma pasaba pero el conductor es malisimo
Wrong tires for ford, bad driver too... 😅 Toyota bad driver. 😅
Air down rookies
Give me that same hill with my f150 and duratraks childsplay
Having better tires might have made the difference, guess the all mighty overrated raptor did not do well
locker would poss have helped as well
That's not a raptor. The owner just put on a raptor grill.

Bad drivers
