“I’ve worked all my life “ oh Dr. Ed we know amazing provider and man 💯💯💯👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes he is. Love Dr. Ed and family
If this is “lashing out in anger and frustration”, then I’ve been in war zones on a regular day. He seems very calm to me, not angry, but confused. ♥️
I would feel so honored to take care of my father if he was like this man. He must have been a wonderful father. He would be so touched and proud to know you have taken care of him. 🙏
He deserted Dan when he was young, divorced Joanne & married Danielle's mum
Really? Is that a fact now!
I the bought Dan and Danielle were married?
To be in a state of confusion every single day. I can’t even imagine. He’s such a great guy and I’m so glad he’s with loving, caring, and patient family! ❤
Grandpa's response of "that's what worries me" to Dan's, "I'm always with you" had me in laughing tears😂😂😂😂😂😂Grandpa's so funny....
And who says Grandpa's angry, no way! I wish this is all anger is ever; then the world would be a sweet place to live in. He's just confused and a bit frustrated😊😊😊. Such a gentleman he is.
😂
He's his Dad not his Grandfather.
I gree lol
He is so understanding in all this confused state. He was a very good man back in his day and is reaping the benefits of good home care. 👍👏
Dan you are an inspiration to many of us who have been and still are caregivers. I admire the way you talk your Dad through his anger and frustration. It's never easy. God Bless.🙏❤
❤️💜
@@dsalnorcal1434 ❤️❤️❤️❣️
And still a big smile from Grandpa to you Dan ❤. When you say you don't have nothing to worried about you live with me. So sweet😊
In the midst of the confusion grandpa still has a sense of humor and polite, that smells good Danielle, I love it❤
Your Dad's hair looks great short! He looks younger. He's still kind when he's frustrated. ❤
Sweet Ed is showing the will to live. Dan you do such a loving job at redirecting your dad. He's home and ready to eat. All was well waiting for dinner. Love to you all.
No matter how upset Dad may get he ALWAYS HAVE A KIND WORD AND THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES AND TO BE NOTED BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY FOREVER❤❤❤
Poor grandpa. How frustrating that must be for him. I’m amazed that he can use the bathroom by himself and at how well he still gets around. Also can get up and down from a sitting position. Awesome 👏!
Love the shirt. Hang in there Dan. You and your family have shown us and helped those families who suffer through the same thing. Blessed be.❤
yes❤
I hate the shirt. This is my opinion. It's mocking his Dad's illness. My mom had Alzheimer's. This stuff isn't fun.
God Bless you Son! That’s the hardest job in the world!
That made me want to put my arms around that precious soul and protect him.
Grandpa Ed he is so lovely. Even in his frustration, his lovely personality shines through as always. Dan, your patience, care, and concern are evident steering your father through the choppy waters of dementia .
This is precious and reminds me of caring for my dad. He was 74 when he had to go into an ALF, I was 28 when I took on the role and was lucky enough to get a job at his place. He passed away last September and it still hits me in waves. I am so proud of what I was able to do for him. I would do all again if I could. ❤ I miss you dad and I know you’re watching over me now.
🥲 After the forgetfulness, comes the real Grandpa " I hope , I helped alot of people." This had me tearing up 🥲🙏 Remembering that he helped in his Dad's Shoestore , then going to a Doctor School and then becoming a Podiatrist 💙🥰 His lucidity is A Blessing 🙌 💙 and HE IS SO DAMN CUTE 😂
Love The Salingers all the way from Boston, Massachusetts 🥰🙏💖
God bless him and them.💜
If that’s considered lashing out, that’s amazing. To me it’s frustrated, but not angry. What a good guy!
You are so patient with him Dan. Precious family!
“Dass wat worries me mostly” 😂😂😂😂 sharp w/ da jokes & big smile ! Salute OG 💪🏾
😂😂😂 he didn't lose his humor 😅
😁
Someone should get him an OG sweatshirt to add to his collection
Bless his heart he wants to "help myself" but as a doctor he's helpless against this terrible disease.
Always a true Gentleman. The disease will not take that away. He may not know where the car, the keys, wallet, checkbook are, but always a Gentleman!!
Everyone gets angry and frustrated. You always answer your father with the truth or distract him. Good job.
My gma has alzheimers too & take care of her 3 days out of the week. I notice he is slurring a bit more today. I stumbled upon you video's but it was hard to watch. Now I love your videos bc you help me prepare for the future. She's 91 also & about to turn 92 feb 8th. You are an inspiration and really appreciate your videos. Thank you!
Yea this was a bad afternoon for him. He woke up early yesterday and by afternoon he was sundowning
@dsalnorcal1434 my gma forget alot & repeats herself constantly, although it seems alot of the constant repeating has gone down over the last month or so. She was sharp as a tac a couple years ago, but she had a small stroke that they were able to desolve, and symptoms came a few months later. She also does the sundowners & sleeps alot. Your dad is a fair worse than she is, but who knows how fast or slow that can change. You're a true inspiration & will definitely use your experiences to hopefully help down the road. The way your dad seems reminds me alot of how i envision her to be. She has always been so sweet & i pray this disease will not make her that way. It would break my heart even more if she gets violent or mean in the future. Im sure you know but people are looking up to you & appreciate all you do!
Dear Dan, I stumbled upon your videos and what a godsend. My dad is on this journey. It has taken what seems like an eternity for me to actually realize how real the memory loss is. Watching these videos of you and your dad is a tremendous help. In your dad I see and hear so much of what my dad is going through. And in you I see and hear hope and joy in the present. Thank you for sharing your story. ❤
That's what worries me mostly lol Grandpa Got Jokes, He's Funny Godbless you Dan Thank you and Danielle, Mark for taking care of him.
He is the sweetest man around.
I just love him.....I want to give him a great big hug and tell him everything is going to be okay.....because you have Dan with you. He's such a sweetheart.
Such a terrible disease, bless his heart!
Dan, there is a special place in heaven for you my friend!
He just melts my heart. Although he gets frustrated, he is still kind as can be. Dan, you and Danielle are doing such a great job with your dad! Dinner looks great!
Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your daily life. Your dad is the sweetest Grandpa around!!
You were so smart to say he doesn't need to pay for something he can't use. You could see that register with him. He's all about financial stability. That's how he's hardwired and it definitely re set him a bit
Ed is such a wonderful person. Even in his condition, you can see love, care for others, and good humble manners. I enjoy watching him. may God grant him peace.
Ed is so fortunate to have a loving and devoted family taking care of him. Ed is so cute.
He’s so obedient. He says ok I’ll put it back. You guys are so lucky to have him ❤
Obedient? He's the dad. He doesn't have to do anything that they say. Not one thing. If he wants to stay awake all night he can. It's other people who have things to do so they make him do what they want, not what he wants. It's sad to watch sometimes.
The smile after all the confusion just melts my heart. Danielle’s cooking makes him happy. Thumbs up!
Even when he gets frustrated he’s still as sweet as can be! ❤
even when hes frustrated hes still just the politest, sweetest man. we all love you and your family for doing what you do for your Father!
I just love watching Pop. I hate the disease for him but he is great hands and is so blessed to have son like Dan. At 91 yo Pop is doing great! ❤
Sweet man. My dad would get like this and it ended up being a UTI. He was diagnosed, treated and “back to himself”. ❤
The patience of a Saint!!! Dan has a lot of love!!! for his father and his father loves him too! So wonderful that this family has taken in their relative at the great age of 91 to live in their beautiful home rather than a nursing home!!!
My dad did this same thing. It’s very frustrating when they can’t retain what you’ve told them one minute ago. Hang in there. You are an amazing caretaker and son. ❤️
We all should be lucky enough to have a son like you Dan. God bless you all.
Him saying I hope I helped a lot of people Dan it made me about cry. That a man who has tried to help so many is battling this disease. Hats off to you Dan and Danielle and your family. You are doing a wonderful thing. Be glad he's here, I'd do anything to bring my dad back even sick and taking care of him, I miss him so.
He manages to throw some humor in once he settles down. Blessings for being there for him. He really does have a good disposition for his age.
I can't believe he's 91.❤ He's such a sweet man. He seems pretty normal for the most part. Very polite and calm. I bet he was an awesome dad and grampa. I'll keep him and the family in my prayers. Gotta love this man ❤
Omgosh, that's lashing out?! 😊 he's still smiling and laughing..
So cute and polite.. God bless him, and your entire family for taking such good care of him..❤️
Well done Dan your patience and understanding eventually calms him thanks for showing us the devastating effects of dad’s dementia ❤❤
He is such a gentle, polite, well mannered man.I love you pop ❤❤❤❤
God bless this wonderful family.❤
Even when he’s distressed he’s nice.
Is very stress sometimes, but when remember what they do for his family, is blessing he got 92 years old
Hugs, he’s so frustrated. 😘
I understand. Sometimes, you can do all the joking you want, say what you will; they just don't want to hear it.
It's amazing, though that he still cracks jokes!😂😂😂😂😂😂
His expression of how he hopes he helped people, just melts my heart.❤
God really shined down on your Dad. I ❤ watching him, im becoming obsessed (in a healthy way).. I just admire the elderly because it a wisdom and certainty money can't buy. Peace Be With You all. 😊
Even though this is happening to your dad, he seems like he was and is such nice man.
Give Dan strength to be as kind as he is forever and ever Amen . You're amazing Dan.
💯💯💯💯💯💯 agree
You’re a good son, Dan. Your dad would be lost in a nursing or retirement home. This is one of the toughest jobs on the planet and you do it with patience and grace. I’m sure you, Danielle and Mark have your moments as you are only human but you all stepped up and that has made all the difference for your dad’s last years. ❤️🇨🇦🙏
God bless anyone who takes care of their parents in their latter years at home with family instead of shipping them off to an old folks home where they get neglected ❤
It's so sad, to watch loved ones go down slowly, I'm 70 and I hope I don't ever get dementia 😢😢
