For Onimusha, I feel like the 3rd person gameplay like RE4 onwards and the remakes would count as a "simple mode". Tank controls wouldn't really fly for today's standards... Either that, or they could use the DMC camera perspective, as the series was originally going to be a Resident Evil spinoff. As for BASARA... boy oh boy do I crave to have another new game in the series for a long time. They could add in the characters from that cancelled mobile game like Tadakatsu's daughter Komatsuhime, or even bring back the old characters who were removed, like Imagawa and Xavi! Hell, Naomasa's mother made it before him, and he was already present as one of Ieyasu's generals since the first game! Just as an ordinary general though, so I'd be curious as to how he would look as a fleshed out playable character.

I'm a little on the fence about this idea. For one, many might think that Basara is copying the Orochi series, which would potentially turn off most new players, especially if we were to get a basara crossover game before an actual new mainline basara game... Second, I think that Capcom should definitely try to put more effort into marketing, or else it would suffer the same fate as Samurai Heroes. I think crossover costumes would be more appropriate like what they did in Basara 4, and should do a sort of Orochi-like crossover with other capcom games when the series becomes recognized again. A Basara like game using the card game Teppen's story would be absolutely dope! Whatever the case, I just want the Basara characters to shine again, especially now that they have DMC V's combat mechanics to get inspiration from. A shame that Suzuki san no longer works for Capcom before this could happen, but hey. I'll take what I can get!
it can be so annoying to hear “wider audience”. They (creators) usually incorporate dlc or some generic online feature for kids or people who DEMAND updates. Nothing needs to be changed imo the games were/are amazing and it’s sad if Capcom thinks much needs to be changed about onimusha to make it more appealing. Simply, A lot of people might not know about it because they never played it and it’s not like you can play it with modern consoles these days. They only released warlords and expected EVERYONE to buy it…give us genma or 2 and 3 then you might have a wider audience…Look at metal gear, Konami released the COLLECTION including 1,2,3 which capcom should’ve done years ago it makes no sense why they didn’t. ONLY adjustment they should add are…nothing imo, but they might get complains about textures. Add textures and keep the mechanics exactly the same the games are less than 20 hours altogether not including dawn of dreams and blade warriors. Just seems like an excuse to constantly hear “wider audience” if they could play the game today, that old series would already HAVE a wider audience, we have youtube, streamers, “influencers, what more could you do for a wider audience when fans already love the series? They are gonna make a onimusha anime which sounds brilliant and amazing that sounds like the best thing possible to bring some new eyes that have NEVER WITNESSED onimusha before. Not much needs to be done i would be satisfied with even a port or emulation not like they’re going to make it from the ground up. Absorbing souls with the oni gauntlet on modern gen consoles already sounds like a satisfying already and with how dynamic colors are these days, that would look amazing. We don’t have much samurai or ninja games these days and people play slashers like elden ring, darksouls, etc…, lots of people will play a beautiful, amazing slasher like Onimusha today and enjoy it without a doubt. Idk why Capcom is so scared and i don’t mind waiting as long as it actually comes out and they knock it out the park.

They once ported Sengoku Basara 1, 2 and 2 Heroes to the PS3. Could have been for the Nintendo Switch too as well indeed.
