    I have to join the masses and share the fact that I’ve been using Chris’ recommended products and methods for a few months now and my stylist is blown away at how my hair has changed. I am 55 and found out by watching these videos that I’ve been doing - literally - everything wrong. Things I learned when I was young and have just always done. Chris is a life changer - a million “thank you”s!!

Your recommended products and routine has definitely helped bring my hair back. Thank you!

      I came here because I just combed my 9 year old dreads out and need to learn how to take care of my hair in this new state (and help the damage)! Also starting with his haircare routine to and searching for fitting products 🙌 Do you mind sharing what products you're using?

    • @klamance
      @klamance ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roranautical6064absolutely! So I use the redken acidic bonding concentrate after I wash my hair. I use Verb shampoo twice before the repair cream. I then use a hair mask ( I like the bondi miracle mask) and then follow with Verb conditioner. Then I use my leave in conditioner and blow dry with redken big blow out product. I’ll add olaplex 7 to my ends.
      I only wash my hair once a week and my hair is super fine. If your hair is thick you could switch olaplex for Moroccan oil. In between washes I use dry shampoo and invested in the overnight blowout rollers and a silk bonnet. My hair has def gotten much healthier and stronger since doing this and honestly even though it’s a lot one day a week, the rest of the week my hair prep is minimal.

    This man knows what he's talking about. I've started managing my hair by his guidelines and only three weeks in and I'm already seeing immense improvements!!!! Thank you so much. And I've not even changed out my shampoo and conditioner yet.
    Simply sealing my ends, only washing the roots, carefully brushing with a squeaky clean brush, etc etc I'm doing those things and getting so many compliments. I thought my hair was so dried out I'd have to cut it, but it turned out i was just too rough and frizzing my hair
    I can't thank him enough!
    EDIT: I finally changed my shampoo and conditioner and added a heat protectant and my hair has grown 3 inches with the ends to the bottom of my rib cage. I used to always have to cut it before it got that long. I can't get over how pretty it looks now. Shiny, smooth,

    Chris, I want to say THANK YOU!!!! For completely changing my hair. I have very fine, pin straight hair that gets oily on day 2. I used to wash my hair every. single. day. to combat the oil problem. And my hair was so uncooperative with styling (I just didn’t know how to work with it) so I always worked against it.
    I discovered your channel at the beginning of the year and my goodness, in these past 9 months my hair health has done a complete 180!!! I use Redken volume injection shampoo once every 4 days, and PHD dry shampoo daily between wash days. Pureology leave in conditioner and Olaplex for my ends. My hair is SUPER shiny, soft, and I’ve got some nice “natural” volume because there’s no oil to weigh it down. I have honestly never been happier with my natural hair, and you guys have helped with my confidence more than you know.
    Thank you endlessly for sharing your knowledge with us. 💖💫

      Hi @darkflower! For wash days, I am currently using the Redken Volume Injection shampoo & conditioner, the Pureology Color Fanatic leave-in conditioner (my hair isn’t color treated but like Chris says it doesn’t have to be to use this). Experimenting with the Redken Big Blowout or Redken Frizz Dismiss Rebel Tame as a heat protectant because I have Medium hair which is very frizz prone-I think so far I like the Redken Big Blowout the best as its not as heavy as the Frizz Dismiss. On non-wash days I use the Olaplex No 7 bonding oil on my ends and mids (love it!!) and a dry shampoo only as needed (Chris recommends Pulp Riot but I have had a hard time getting that-it’s either unavailable or being sold at a higher price from certain vendors so I have settled for Eva NYC and its okay and I only have to use it on day 3-4). I also bought a wet brush and love it.

    Hi Chris, I have been following the Trinity hair care method for almost one month now and I have noticed a huge difference in my hair. It looks and feels so much healthier and hair oil has done wonders for my ends. I have about a half inch regrowth in one month, and I actually feel like I got a half inch growth on the length and everything looks healthy. I am transitioning out of bleaching my hair. I am going to embrace the natural look to gain back the integrity of my hair. Thank you for your expertise on hair!!

    I've been using oil correctly! ❤ ....I had no idea until a few days ago that people were doing all sorts of crazy stuff with oil. Like, there's a ton of videos of people dripping it right into their scalp. My hair is waist-length, and all I did was damage repair. ...but it’s definitely not where I want it, and I think that's probably my conditioner routine. I didn’t realize leave-in was so important.

      @@ritabrandow1318 Hey Rita, I use Olaplex #3 once every week or two, then rinse and shampoo with Moroccanoil moisture repair shampoo, then apply a nice amount of Moroccanoil weightless mask (I use this ever time I shampoo because my thick hair is really dry), Pureology Color fanatic leave-in, Moroccanoil oil, Olaplex #6, and when hair is mostly dry, a quick blowout, then I use the Redken heat protectant to I flat iron my hair every week or so. It's really made a difference. Best of luck on your hair journey!

    I don’t hate sulfates, but I did have to get them out of my routine per my derm because I have been dealing with dermatitis for so long that my skin is just too reactive to strong ingredients likes sulfates right now. But I definitely don’t see them as evil. Just not for me right now. In general, listen to your hair and your derm if you use one.

    While in college I worked for a chemist who formulated shampoos. He demonstrated the shampoo that created thick lather quickly just had more sulfate in it. That in fact the dozen or so shampoos he worked on just had varying degrees of sulfate to satisfy marketing to different demographics.

  • @aprildegele1510
    @aprildegele1510 ปีที่แล้ว

    I absolutely LOVE that you clarified what sulfates are. I'm not a chemist, nor am I an stylist. But I am an RN retired, so I understand the basics. To clean your hair (or any other body part or dishes for shit's sake, which is why Dawn), there needs to be a surfactant to dislodge the dirt and oil.
    Now there are folks who use the ancient Greek method of applying olive oil and scraping it off to get "clean". Yikes. I live in the PNW, and we have many of these folks
    To that end, you could mix potpourri in wax, put it on the top of your head, and make your hair smell good as the wax melts. (this was only used with wigs in Egypt because most folks shaved their head to control lice). Or you could control bugs with Pepe the 1St super sticky honey slave ... they poured honey over the slaves and put them in the corner during feasts to attract bugs. It worked.
    I love that as a stylist, you're teaching folks that there's so much BS out there. I have learned (for other things) that if the first ingredient (and ingredients are usually listed by first listed, most used in food, face products, hair products ... continue) Is water, I'm paying for mostly water. Water, if you catch your own or are on a well (I'm on a well, and it has it's own issues being hard water), is free. And even if you pay for water, it's the cheapest ingredient in products. First ingredient being water, in most cases, means you're buying a product that is mostly water and thus, you're getting screwed. Yes, water is absolutely necessary at some point, but it shouldn't be the first product listed.

    Thank you for setting is straight! I have 2 questions for ya.
    Is using too much protein or keratin bad for your hair? I was using a shampoo and conditioner a couple of years ago that talked about having keratin in it. Well, my hair started breaking like CRAZY! So now I'm terrified of keratin! I would love to know the answer to this so I can stop reading the back of every single product that goes on my hair lol

    Personally, I do not use sulphates or silicones. When I started the Curly Girl Method at the end of 2014 (when my hair was barely wavy; it's now _very_ curly) I began by washing with conditioner but that had silicones and I used silicones for years. I have found that for me, my curls are better when I don't use silicones and I eventually stopped using them. Not sure why but that works for me. I now use Cantu Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo for my hair instead of conditioner so that's very gentle. Oh, and I wash my hair once every two weeks and occasionally go three weeks between washes and my hair looks great.

    I might actually go back to my old conditioner. My hair was growing like crazy and then I decided to try the modified wavy method. It might not get rid of all the frizz, but its not as thick as the last 2 I've tried. Sulfate free shampoo never worked for me anyway.
    Keeping the oil and leave in though- makes it so much easier to comb through.

    About sulfates... it's fine for most people in the doses they are exposed to with normal use, but it is possible to be sensitive to it. I used to have random unexplained sores on my scalp and on the inside of my cheeks and the roof of my mouth until I changed shampoos and toothpastes.

    I have medium wavy hair and been using GHD for so many years now. I use Chris recommended list of products (redken+pureology leave in conditioner +olaplex No. 7) and it gives me perfect healthy straight hair for 3 days ( I wash my hair after that). From my experience with family and friends: coarse-haired people have to put in extra effort with GHD due to its temperature limitation. For myself, I am a loyal GHD fam, their tools have lasted years for me and have never caused damage.
